I own the Champagne Binder and I love the texture, it feels (so soft) and looks amazing. I often purchase black planners but loved it when you, revealed it in a previous video. I also love the pockets and two pen slots, very functional overall.
I have an FQ personal wide with the external ring on the end. I put a carabiner on it and use it as a garden tracker. I picked up a variety of black and burgundy FC A5s at thrift and present them out to the family. Kids are reaching high school age and they'll have a binder that will last for decades to come. One of each color I kept for myself - one for every day, the other for home maintenance reference.
Tonya, I would love to see a walk through of your current planner set up. You are so organized and maybe you could give me some ideas to improve my system ❤️
Tonya I love your video's you have such a pleasant voice. How do you handle items in your master task list that you schedule do you put an arrow and date next to the item or just leave it?
This was really helpful. I didn't know that snap binders were smaller than zippered bindrrs. I ordered a new snap binder as I am looking to take up a little less real estate on my desk.
@@TonyaPlans I got the new Aliva Simulated Leather Snap Binder in green. I thought the colour was fun and I don't own anything that colour, so I'll find the planner easily in my bag or on my desk.
Hi Tonya. Good to see you posting again. You sure have a wide variety of binders. I have 4 total since circa 1990. Today, I'm using one page per day, classic, 20 year old leather black binder, no snap, no zipper.
I agree Franklin needs to create more options for 1.5" open binders. My collection would be much larger if they did. Like you, I discovered 1.5" rings to be the ideal size for using 2-page per day formats. Additionally, I have learned over nearly 30 years of using Franklin planners that open binders are better for me, as they provide faster access to taking notes, checking my task list or retrieving information. They also tend to be slightly shorter than the zipper binders allowing them to fit into a bag easier. Like you, I have swapped out rings on the Anna binder to make it work, and my regular "go to" daily binder is the simulated leather open binder since it is a little more durable than the more expensive leather binders and I don't have to be as concerned about it getting scratched with heavy daily use.
Welcome back Tonya. I loved your review and completely agree with you about the 1.5 inch rings. It would be great if FC made more binders with that size rings.
I love these Binder shares. I don’t collect binders like others but love to see what is available. And I think I bought the champagne binder cause of one of your posts which I’m in now.
Hi Tonya! We've missed you. I agree the 1.5 inch binders are a must for the 2-page daily planners, the thinner planners are better suited for weekly planners. The clear credit card pocket is perfect for an owner's label and I'm surprised it isn't standard on all their planners. The only way I know around this without major construction is to add an ID wallet that come with men's wallets. I have a removable ID wallet that's inside my wallet that should fit in a credit card slot. Some ID wallets have a clear pocket on the outside, you'll just have to look around if you're interested in this workaround. I have one of the original 1.5 inch black leather aniline leather zipper binders, a thinner one I got at work that's similar, and a few others that are the monarch size in leather, fake leather, and nylon. Great video as always and looking forward to your next one.
Hi Tonya! I have the Compact Anna binder in Onyx and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! I also purchased the Anna in Onyx in the classic size for a Home management and finance binder. I love that my checkbook fits perfectly in the back slip pocket. The organization of the Annas are very similar to the Aurora binders that everyone used to love, and now sell for a LOT of money on FB or Ebay. I actually love the smaller rings in the Anna binder. The compact has 1" rings and that is perfect for me as I do not like a bulky binder at all. Just the basics please! The only complaint I have with Franklin Covey is that they ignore us compact users sometimes, especially with forms. I wish they had the Health and Wellness forms in the compact size. I used to LOVE them. We all need a little boost in the healthy eating and moving more after the year of 2020 right? 😀
Hey hi! Yes, I agree that some forms are not available in the compact size at Franklin Planner. I think it's because the classic size is their flagship product and can't be used with other company's products due to it's 7-ring configuration. Technically, the compact size is the same size as the personal size in other planners and compact users can get inserts and binders from anywhere...so that may be why they don't offer as many items in the smaller size. Just my 2 cents as I don't work for them and don't know what they are thinking. Thanks for leaving a comment. Have a great day.
@@TonyaPlans I agree Tonya, I might look for a printable that I can use. I print them out and just cut them at 4.25 instead of 3.75 and they fit perfectly. I dont love having different sizes of pages in my planner. I'm too OCD for that. 😀
oh my goodness. I just placed my first order and decided to get the nice carter one because I wanted the dark blue classic.. I also wanted the 2 daily pages - now i"m gonna have a 1 inch ring binder and need bigger .... it never occurred ot me stuff wouldn't fit - duh. btw, do you know if the zip ones, etc will take side tabs?
Hi. Yes, all of the Franklin binders are wide enough for side tabs. One inch rings may be too small for a day on 2 pages planner. You can order larger rings and switch them out by calling the FP customer service phone number.
I don't have any work that can survive on smaller rings. Gotta have the 1.5. I tried a simulated leather once. It fell apart in 6 months, wasting decent money. It was a competitor, but that experience turned me off. Never again.
