what great timing - I'm getting ready to do this on my 96 with a non-Bose system. How did you route the harness from the receiver cavity to the passenger area? Is there an existing path? I saw you show the original wires coming out of a hole but that looked to be on the outer side, not the tunnel side.
There’s a hole towards the front of the cavity where the receiver is I fished the wires under the carpet to the edge of the center console, and I made a slit in the carpet behind the console and pop the wires out there, then ran them behind the plastic above where the mount for the Seatbelt is and then under the plastic and carpet all the way along the side of the passenger side console and went up into the back of the radio area. I intended on using a fish tape, but I ended up just taping the wires to a coat hanger with a hook to pull it through some of the tighter spots. You can possibly go the other direction and go along the frame rail on the passenger side but I just went the direct route. Seemed to work OK. The harness from Crutchfield was perfect by the way. I just did have a lot of extra wire, because I ran direct instead of going a long way, and I did have to coil up the antenna wire a bit underneath, but with the radio I installed , there was plenty of room.
