I like the real feeling of a REAL hit session with some accidents. Sometimes it’s not perfect, you load too much, you reach failure before you expected and your arms start to tremble. And also, you went to the gym with that threatening feeling we all know, HIT is not a walk in the park.

@Oettam_187lbs
@Oettam_187lbs Месяц назад
First off, you should stop making weekly count of workouts. You can train full body and hit the gym again as soon as you’re recovered. It can be 3,4 5 days or even more. What I’ve experienced is at a certain stage you cannot tolerate a full body training and you’d need to split it out. Lower - upper is my go-to.
@steviesaysstuff
@steviesaysstuff Месяц назад
At first if you're not really experienced, you could benefit from 2 full body a week. But as you get better at generating intensity and exhausting the muscle, you may need to do an upper lower split. That's what I had to do. Or whatever split you like really. All that really matters is intensity of effort, rest and recovery and don't eat super shitty. I mean there's other stuff too but he covers that in his Golden Era System and even more in depth with his VIP Coaching

No one really knows, even if most people say no, there could be one genetic freak that proves otherwise. Not saying that’s me, but online it says you can build 15 pounds of muscle naturally in a year under ideal conditions… I put on 18lbs of muscle in the last 6 months and at least 28lbs of fat on top of that… I train HIT pretty close to Mentzer’s recommendations with my own variation… that was mostly barbells but it reached the point where the fatigue was too much for my training frequency. My hip thrust at the beginning of the year went from 225lb I think to 675lbs in a few months, naturally… I didn’t have the best training knowledge in the world, but my profile pic is 8 months of natural training at age 15… tbh I lost most of that after a few girl heartbreaks but I’m getting back in the grove and am going to start competing next summer. @rgmann
@rgmann Месяц назад
@@user-mz1ym8pq8m I perform my rep speed around 3 seconds positive/3 seconds negative with slow turnarounds, minimizing momentum. I use a weight that allows me to reach positive failure between 8-15 reps most of the time, which amounts to about 50-90 seconds time under tension. It works great for producing muscular size and strength, and I've had zero weight training related injuries and no joint or tendon problems by doing so. Increasing rep speed by employing momemtum and shifting the load to accessory muscles helps you to move more weight (increasing your risk of injury), but it doesn't help produce any additional muscular size or strength than using a slower rep speed does (decreasing your risk of injury). Within reasonable limits (hitting failure within 45-90 seconds), the amount of weight you use is irrelavant.

I wouldn't focus primarily on the gaining muscle aspect, it's mainly about getting stronger. Strentgh precedes size, mike mentzer pointed out that sometimes he would go as long as months before seeing any noticeable size increases (and we're talking about a genetically gifted person). I myself haven't noticed much size increases, but my strength has increased and performing the exercise WAY better than before (technique > reps..etc). Sometimes the gains are so little, that it's pretty difficult to analyze a change, but if everything is done correctly (no overtraining, healthy lifestyle, good workout..etc) the physiological adaptation will occur. A positive response is taking place even if you don't see it.
