I would discontinue drinking fenugreek tea. It stimulates insulin production, causing too much insulin in blood and the body can’t process it as it translates into pre-diabetes. Conclusively I would investigate all the teas that you’re drinking to ensure that there is minimal insulin production impact. Be leery of verbiage during your research that insinuates “helps regulate blood sugar”… Because this is confusing as it could mean that insulin production is increased by that compound/tea/herb. Inositol for example is an herb that helps process insulin already in the body which aids insulin resistance and thus reduces chances ofpre-diabetes. This herb, from my research, does NOTIncrease the production of insulin.

I’d recommend checking out Dr Mindy Pelz’s channel on intermittent fasting. As women, we should not aim for the same hours of fasting everyday because we have different levels of hormones present at different time points during our cycle. For example, you should eat way less carbs during your first 15 days (approx) when estrogen is present and then you can have more healthy carbs in the latter days of your cycle when progesterone is higher. This helps with energy levels as well 😊

There is a link between Vitamin D deficiency and diabetes. Some are able to lower their A1C by increasing their vitamin D levels. Please research. Also, research consuming fenugreek to lower A1C or risk of diabetes. Intermittent fasting should help as well. You got this! Blessings!

In the Caribbean cinnamon tea is well known as "blood cleanser". I don't know about the effect on diabetes but people drink it as a part of a detox. There are 2 types of cinnamon, make sure you buy the "ceylon" type which is the "medicinal" one, it's always the most expensive compared to "cassia". Check it out on Google to make sure❤❤

Please schedule an appointment with a licensed nutritional dietitian. Most doctors do NOT spend enough time learning about diet. They can’t educate you on diet. A dietitian can assist by doing the right bloodwork to find out the dietary deficiencies you have and how to address them. Your issue is: 1) not getting enough sleep 2) eating too late at night. 3) coffee is NOT your friend. It causes the blood sugar to go crazy. 4) spend more time fasting to regulating your blood sugar. STOP drinking coffee. It does crazy things to cortisol. This is the stress hormone. And your not getting sufficient sleep. These two issues need to be addressed. IMMEDIATELY! 4 areas that are critical. You can only mess up one and be okay. 1) sleep management 2) diet and lifestyle 3) stress management 4) exercise Coffee messes up 2 of those areas. Sleep and stress management it’s throws a monkey wrench in there.

I was also diagnosed as prediabetic about a year ago. I’m 5’4 1/2 and I’ve weighed between 115-120 lbs from the time I was 14. Over the past five years I gained 50 pounds because I was constantly over eating and eating fast food and junk food at an alarming rate. When I got the diagnosis, I was also told that my cholesterol was high and the doctor wanted to put me on medication. I refused, lost weight and now I am no longer prediabetic or have high cholesterol. I didn’t even change my diet, which is terrible on my part, I still continue to eat crappy food, but because I lost the weight I no longer had the diagnosis. Praying for your healing 🙏🏿.

Hi I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes when I was pregnant. That was 17 years ago. A few years later I was diagnosed as insulin resistance. My doctor put me on Metformin. My glucose and A1c’s remained stable. Metformin started causing new problems after being on it for so many years. I started in incorporating intermittent fasting and 30 min of exercise and was able to reverse the insulin resistance. I got a new doctor who took me off Metformin and now I am managing my blood sugars with diet and exercise. Truly I believe that the food we eat also plays a big role in health. I would also make sure you get a good doctor that does not push meds. Sometimes they can cause new or worse issues. I pray your healing to reverse this health issue in Jesus name❤😊

I am a PhD level healthcare provider in America. And I just want to remind everyone the building blocks for diabetes, hypertension, and preventable diseases start in childhood. They do not start right before they show up on an exam. It takes possibly years and often times decades for the damage you have done to your body in childhood, as a teenager or young adult to show up on tests. One of the greatest gifts you can give and teach your children is nutrition. Of course, financial literacy and the foundation of God too

I, too, was diagnosed with pre-diabetes. I followed the low carb / keto diet (keeping carbs below 30 or 50 grams of net carbs a day. I also took a natural supplement called Berberine, which lowers blood sugar and bad cholesterol. I felt the difference in my body in a week. Not only did I lose 6 pounds in a week (with no exercise) but I no longer ached in my body. I went back to my doctor in 3 months, and I was out of the pre-diabetes range. There are a lot of keto meal ideas on RU-vid. Also, use Monkfruit sweetener instead of sugar and honey. Monkfruit is a natural sweetener that does not spike your sugar (and it's good, with no after taste like with splenda).

I was "pre diabetic" for 20 years! I started keto, but it wasn't good enough. In November I decided to go on carnivore. I've never felt better. All aches qnd pains are gone, no more headaches, tight skin, I was a size 18, now I'm a 13... I eat one meal a day and don't get hungry in between. (started without 2 meals, but I know of people who start with 3). I'm in my late 60's....check out some of the docs on yt who talk about the Proper Human Diet. Don't be fooled by the "plant-based" community. It's a farce...oh i can dance the fast samba PROPERLY at 108 bpm's for 60 seconds straight without stopping. That's better than a lot of what you see on YT. Be well. The Kingdom of the Lord is at hand, and you are an integral part thereof! Be blessed!

Thanks so much for sharing. I think it’s so important that we become more informed about what is actually healthy. A few things jumped out me 1. Your sleep schedule - you probably need more sleep than what you are getting and lack of sleep raises insulin resistance 2. Your breakfast sounds actually very sugary toast, peanut butter, honey, bananas. Try starting your day with a protein rich meal. It can have some complex carbs but should be majority protein. I like to do an omelette with spinach and Turkey bacon sometimes sweet potatoes 3. Coffee impairs insulin sensitivity so it’s best to avoid especially in the morning. Try green tea or matcha instead which will help your body be more insulin sensitive. 4. You are working out with a trainer - this is a good thing but sometimes overly intense workouts stress the body too much and throw our hormones out of wack. Listen to your body and if you are not feeling increased energy from your workouts try low impact options like long walks or yoga instead. 5. Did your doctor check your iron levels? This can have a huge impact on energy levels. You have given so much to the community and I truly love and appreciate you so much. Wishing you good health 💕

Hello, I know what changed the game in our household. Was counting your carbs for every meal. Every meal, you should be consuming 60 carbs or less. The highest carbs in meals will be generally for dinner, which will include a desert if you decide to have a desert. In between meals for snacks, you only have protein. Lastly, there are no more sugary drinks. Zero sugar drinks and plenty of water. Of course, with plenty of exercise. Turning that sugar consumption into energy. This changed the game for us, from being Diabetic to no longer Diabetic to pre-diabetes to normalcy. A nutritionist helped us along the way. To God be the GLORY!🎉🎉❤

I cut out white flour, white sugar, bread, unless sprouted grain bread, potatoes any honey or sweetener. I use stevia, erythritol, or xylitol. Takes getting used to. I'm hoping for a good test when I go back on Monday. But I know I have done my best. I have even eliminated carbohydrates or cut them drastically. You have to learn to read labels if you want to stay off the meds. It is possible because you are young. I am 66 years old. I have done well and so can you. Please look at Jason Fung and Mindy peltz, two doctors who help diabetics and other people control their bodies. If you hate what they are saying then you probably need to really follow their advice! It is where we are and a lot of our problems are caused by the food industries use of chemicals in growing our food. If you can grow your own even better. God bless you on your journey. You must do the best you can for your family as well as yourself. You are strong. I hear your appeal. 😮😮

Dear Farida: you can beat this!!! I'm gonna tell you a little bit of my story, in my family, we are #1 in diabetes, and bc of that at an early age I became vegetarian and then vegan but I learned that even though I wasn't safe still vegetables and fruits have sugar and carbs, so the way that I fix this is, I Dont eat fruits after 3 or 4 pm. Try to eat fruits that are hard like apples, pears, etc, more than the ones that are more watery, when u eat bananas Dont eat the ones that are completely yellow or have brown dots, thoseones have a lot of sugar, I eat from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm only and I let my body do fasting the rest of the time, and you know one of the miracles for diabetes FENUGREEK!! I love it it helps me to control my anxiety about sugar and at the same time lower it, your energy will be back I felt exactly like u before, this is a pick of my routine, get up at 6:00 am and drink 1lt. Of water while I meditate and exercise (do yoga to help you with your mind) then at 10:00 am before I eat I drink my fenugreek tea with lemon, at the beginning I use to put a splash of honey now I used so I don't need it, I became gluten-free not bc I have a problem I did it bc I want to eliminate the sugar and eat without unnecessary stuff on my food like any kind of gum or gluten, I read everything I buy that goes on my body, at night time I do my tea, I know that u like coffee so try to substitute for mushroom coffee, start slowly to do the changes,is all about discipline, I will active a phone # June 19 so if u need help I'm willing to help u like u help me with my hair a lot!!!! So this is the # I know to put it in a public text like this is crazy but I want to help and that's no my private # 516-781-8080 stay strong you will beat this, I can explain why now you feel more tired too God is with you!

This is a really sweet message but please be careful being vegan for long stretches of time. My dr told me that after 7 years of veganism my body was totally robbed of micro nutrients and my teeth were decaying and my hair was falling out. I started taking cod liver oil, bone broth, eggs, ghee and other healthy fats and my health and energy levels turned around❤ peace and blessings to you!!!

Juices are the issue, way too much sugar in a small quantity. Carbohydrates all turn in to sugars. Everytime you eat your body has to constantly produce insulin. Sugar is not the answer to energy its a healthy balanced diet, excercise, a healthy weight and good sleep.

Yep. The second she said "juicing" I thought...uh oh. I thought juicing was good too. You can put all the organic stuff you want to in it, but at the end of the day, it's not much different than a soda. You take in way too much sugar and tear up the most important part...the fiber.

I am a herbalist and the first thing I thought of was the apple cider vinegar, so happy she mentioned that to balance blood sugar levels. I take it 3x's a day before meals, it works wonderfully to keep your blood sugar in balance. Also I know you love Fenugreek for the hair, well its also good for balancing out blood sugar levels. I would make an infusion with it by soaking the Fenugreek in boiling water for 3 hours. 1 oz. Fenugreek in a large mason jar.(Also I add hibiscus to all of my infusions it adds a berry flavor and so many health benefits. I so hope this can be of help. Just love your channel.

Hey sis, I saw both of your videos about prediabetes and love how you're taking control of your health! It sounds like you're already on track! Many people find success by making small, sustainable changes. As a health coach, I've seen that everyone responds differently. Experimentation is great but always talk to your doctor about any new supplements and approaches, do your own research, and track what you've changed and its impact. Along with what you're implementing re: IF and the tried and true tips to drink plenty of water, get enough sleep, eat right, and move more, here are a few additional tweaks that might be helpful: eat veggies FIRST during meals and add 10 minutes of walking or movement post-meals. Even seated calf raises during long bouts of sitting can make a difference. Wishing you all the best on your journey! Persistence and progress over perfection are key! You've got this!

One of the biggest things that has been helping me is my glucose meter even if you're pre diabetic get one and start testing. It's a way to see the impact different foods and portion sizes have on your blood sugars. You get to see first hand what spikes you and what doesn't. My doctor only recommend me testing once a day but I test more frequently on my own. I learned juices have more an impact than the whole fruit. The fiber in the whole fruit slows down the natural sugars in fruit. Juices are absorbed quickly and gives me spikes. I would have never known that if I had not tested myself 1 or 2 hours after having juice. Once you have a good idea what spikes you then you can plan how to incorporate or not incorporated those foods into your diet. Also know genetics can play a roll in if you'll develop pre diabetes or diabetes. Wishing you the best

Seems like doctors wait for people to get sick. I fought tooth and nail to get a Lyme disease- yes, I fish and go into woody areas too! I can understand how this can be scary but it is certainly something that can be overcome with dietary changes. The challenge is that there is so much information and misinformation out here. You really do have to dedicate yourself to learning as much as you can and seeing where the commonalities are and finding out what works for you and your body. I have struggled with my weight my entire adult life so I've read a lot about diet and health, etc. What is working for me now is a high protein diet. You cannot eliminate carbohydrates and real / healthy fats completely! Your body requires them . I also eat organic foods as much as possible . You do a lot of juicing but juicing has A LOT of sugar, believe it or not. You may want to look at the types of foods you are juicing as well as eating the food in its natural state instead. My husband was diagnosed with prediabetes and he is a slender man! He, however, loves sweet tea and icecream and it runs in his family. When he stops drinking sweet tea and eating ice cream he goes back to normal! Here's a Doctor/ author on Amazon who gives insights into Foods that I have found interesting, but you have to keep reading past him. " Dr. Steven R Gundry 4 Books Collection Set (Unlocking the Keto Code, The Plant Paradox, The Energy Paradox, The Longevity Paradox" Just remember, this is something that you can overcome relatively easily but it just takes educating yourself more about food and YOUR body. But you have to find out what works best for your body. Just like everything does not work the same on everyone's hair, every diet does not work the same for everyone's body. You educated yourself about how to grow your beautiful hair so you can educate yourself about how to take care of your beautiful body. You can do this, so do it!

I have been where you are now. First things first…..you gotta just do it! Eliminate white foods, rice, potatoes, pasta, bread, cakes, pies, cookies, anything that is starchy or made from wheat because starches turn to sugar and sugar turns to fat. I also wouldn’t bother with quick fixes and the hacks because often times they are short-lived and seldom work. I started out with fasting A1c of 5.9. My fasting glucose was 104 to 110. I SLIGHTLY lost increased my protein (MEATS)and fat intake. When I want something sweet, I eat sweet potatoes. I have a recipe or a Banana Mango Sweet Potato Cheesecake, on my channel that contains no sweeteners, yet, no one would even know! I have cut out all table sugar, all artificial/substitute sweeteners. I have cut out all products that also contain wheat. My A1c is now 5.1 and my fasting glucose is 89 to 90. The other thing that I eat when I want something sweet is Fried banana and mango with vanilla and pineapple extract. I can only do that once every couple of months. The cheesecake I do it every couple of weeks. There are a lot of videos on RU-vid that talk about the dangers of table sugar, however they are promoting the alcohol sugars, the substitute sweeteners and the artificial sweeteners. I can’t do any sweeteners whatsoever. I become very ill. I just had to find new things to eat. I also don’t do any fruit juices. If you drink fruit juice you should not drink more than 2 ounces at a time. I haven’t had a soda in almost 3 years and I don’t miss them. I buy sparkling, flavored waters because I still need that bubble and fizz. I prefer the “BUBLY” brand of sparkling waters. The flavors are so good. You will have to start checking ALL labels for ingredients because for some reason, they are putting sugar in things you never suspected. I just found out a couple of days ago that there is dextrose in the salt that I buy! Dextrose is sugar. They are putting sugar in everything. I can’t even buy a pizza without the ingredients reading sugar. Everything that I eat, I have to make from scratch to avoid the sugars most foods contain. I know it sounds difficult, living without sugar and sweeteners, but it can be done and you can be happy doing it. I think what has caught most of us offguard is that so many things contain sugar, i.e., potato chips, popcorn etc., contain sugar. Just watched some of the documentaries about the dangers of sugar. These documentaries will become your motivation for not even wanting to consume sugar. It’s not good for you and it’s not good for your children sugar promotes oxidation and Aging. The fruit drinks and fruit juices will have to go, as well. They are loaded with natural sugar and sometimes added sugar. And the drinks that we buy at these coffee shops can be loaded with excess sugar! A lot of us were surprised when we got our diagnosis of prediabetes, but once you educate yourself about what’s in the foods that you buy, especially processed/ready-made foods and you learn more about the dangers of sugar, it then becomes your motivation to curtail and not use sugar products. Exercise is key! When I don’t exercise, I feel awful! As far as getting lab results, I would suggest that you find a lab where you can get your own results in your own time. I really don’t care for the way that SOME doctors deliver any type of red flags. They’re just not very gentle about it nor are they calming. I use a lab that within 24 to 48 hours I can go to their website and review my lab results before the doctor gets them. It’s very easy to read. P.S. I was Vegan from 2009 to 2020 and became deficient every month and every passing year. It was always something going on with my health! Juicing is not healthy. Especially, when juicing fruits! It is too much sugar to the system at one time and juicing spikes blood sugar. We were not meant to drink our fruit, but to eat our fruit. The fiber of the fruit helps slow down the absorption of sugar into the body. I trashed my juicer once I found this out. I literally trashed my juicer! Do your research and you’ll be fine! In this instance it’s what we don’t know that hurts us the most.
