MY Dilbar (156m) built by Lurssen for her Russian owner, seen here mooring in Antibes, next to Lady Britt (63m) by Feadship in October 2016. Unedited raw footage Guests: 40 in 20 cabins est Crew: 80+ in 35 cabins est US$ 600 million
I was in Antibes about 4 weeks ago, its amazing up close, but its paint color is definitely more beige than it appears in this vid, it actually reminded me of a 1980's beige fridge.
The stupidity some people make me laugh. Because of this yacht, 4,000 employees stimulate the economy. That dose not include the 80 full-time crew who also stimulate the economy. It took 6 MILLION man-hours from outside vendors (paint, electricians, furniture, etc) and 1.5 million man-hours for the shipyard employees. That is some serious economic stimulation, my friend. The sales tax alone for this yacht was about 480 MILLION dollars! That money went to schools, fire fighters, teachers, and anyone else who rely on the government for employment. It might have been a tax write-off on his business, but it was still paid and the government still got to spend it. Then there are the many businesses he owns, providing a pay check to countless other people or the Soccer team he owns which helps support a football league, stadium employees, food vendors, and all the things that foot ballers buy for their families - also the photographers and reporters who follow the team around and the publication houses who distribute it. The list goes on and on. Before you get jealous or angry from self pity ... think about this: This man started where you are but instead of TV and beer, he worked his ass off looking for opportunities. Don't get mad at people who buy these things - be grateful they didn't sit on their ass like you and create nothing with their lives. LOL, NO I doubt it has cup holders. Instead it probably has a butler or staff member that holds your drink for you !
Lol... This man is a Russian oligarch...he owes everything to Putin.....he had nothing at 40...like all of them they were assigned sectors to control for Putin......research these oligarchs...they grew up under communism...and starting in the late nineties they all started to amass vast wealth...there is no other explanation except massive corruption and favoritism... And God help you if you fall into disfavor...
@Allen ignorant? He certainly is not ignorant. He is absolutely correct. But so is Jose cruz. Sure, got rich by probable ill gotten means. But larsDJsmith is right. That ill gotten money put quite a few people to work. And in case you haven't noticed, even in this modern day and age there will be wealth created by shady deals everywhere in Earth. You need to get past it dipshit. There will ALWAYS be haves and have nots. Utopia does not, and will not, ever exist. Man is not created like that. You think all these guys like Zuckerberg and Gates got rich innocently? Hell no. People are addicted to these modern technologies. Are they shady too? You are using their stuff right now. Could you live without your precious tablet or smartphone? Are you willing to go back to rotary dial phones and actually face someone to make your stupid comment or accusation instead of hiding faceless and safely amongst the web? I could easily. So I highly suggest you put your own ignorance aside assface. Don't cast stones when you live in a glass house. They're easily broken.
Usually for vessels the cost of maintenance is 10% of total price. Dilbar costs $800M so annual running costs are around $80M. I heard to fuel up Dilbar’s fuel tanks it’s around $700k to $800k depending on fuel prices.
High Velocity because slow and steady is the best course of action in a somewhat tight area you minimize something negative happening by handling it this way. 👏
I'm over here selling my belongings so that I can afford dinner tonight, watching videos of someone docking their mega yacht. Life is fucked, lmao. Nice boat though. Shame ill never get to set foot on one. :-/
@@gabrieldg Sadly my days of working are done. Was shot while in Iraq, messed me up rather badly. These things can only happen if I win the lottery haha. Which sucks because I live 5 minutes from the ocean. *shrugs*
There's something I don't understand about these super yachts. It seems to me safety has been sacrificed at the alter of convenience, style and luxury. Take the stern for example. It is open with plenty of doors/hatches. Not good in a rough following sea. Life boats? Not one to be seen. I assume the usual alarms, sprinklers. pumps, etc are present. I know these boats are strictly for fair weather but Mother Nature can still catch you with your pants down even with modern forecasts.
I appreciate your remarks but to me the basic design is towards style, luxury and convenience at the expense of good old fashioned safety. Where are the life boats? Are there automatic watertight doors sealing off sections? I confess I have not been on board a mega yacht. I base my reasoning on experience in the British Merchant Navy in the 1960's.
I'm more worried about the name! Dilbar is too close to Dilbert for my taste! However, such yachts are seaworthy to the highest standards, no compromise made. Hey, it's a Lurssen! They have to comply to various national & international regulations. If you take the number of visible safety rafts as measure for safety, then it might appear not safe but this is just because all rafts are hidden. Safety on such vessels is also defined by the crew and the management. If this isn't top-notch, then the best ship cannot compensate that (see Costa Concordia!)
Personally if I had that much money I would just pay for the most expensive rooms in a cruise ship. I guess if I really wanted privacy maybe I can see the appeal of this Same with airplanes, I'd never buy my own airplane but rather always go first class or better.
I'm certain all of the over four thousand families employed , and positively impacted during the entire construction process, over 4 years , will loudly disagree with you !!!
It's disgusting how much money one person can have to own something this outrageous. I would rather see 1,000 people with 1million dollars each then 1 person with a billion dollars. Those 1,000 people would stimulate the economy much more than 1 person who buys $500 shirts and drives half a million dollar cars.
Alisher Usmanov, the owner of said Yacht is owner/investor of multiple large businesses/corporations who together employ tens of thousands of employees. That's a fuck ton more economy stimulating than you're doing commenting on a video of his yacht docking you dirty fucking commie..
