Lol looks so funny using those tiny pieces of sandpaper that are supposed to go on a certain sander. :) lol. Had a painting company for years. And For anyone doing a project where you will be sanding without a sander, the most comfortable with the most control and speed are the blocks that look like a sponge covered in sandpaper. You will find most professional painters etc use them (they’ll use the larger sheets to attach to a device with an extension pole to sand the whole wall before painting, most will sand the walls lightly between coats as well to catch any debris that landed on the paint before drying, just in case you’d loose any sleep not knowing that 🤭🤪) ♥️🇨🇦

My god, dis the sander save me time on my projects in uni. But unfortunately i also had to go manual when i was home working as all the tools were university property. It’s pretty time consuming and rough and i ended up with many scratches and burns and i wished i had the sander on hand.
@miket2120
@miket2120 Год назад
Even a "little" project like this, getting "specialized" tools really help. A random orbit sander would be ideal. A sanding block is also good, but not the little ones at the big box stores. I use the Preppin Weapon sanding block, originally designed for auto body sanding by a bodyshop owner. Fits so much more comfortably in the hand and it's very easy to change the paper. Amy suggested the sanding sponges and they are my go to for the edges.

@DIYDalia

Thanks! When you look into the other balconies the bars are so thin it’s like they don’t even exist ie you can see literally everything. For mine you really can’t see much (bc of the angles) but up close you can still see out. I didn’t want it to be an opaque screen because I wanted light to come through. I also wanted to just see something more visually appealing than the building construction because it’s my living room view :)

Actually I used dental floss to put up chicken wire so my cat does not go though the slat on my balcony. I put it up 10 years ago and it is still standing. I live in MN also. Dental floss is a great go to. I have used in in the toilet tank when the chain in the tank rust out. I have used it for emergency sewing jobs. I even used when one a trip and my leather strap for my watch broke. I have used it even to sew up my tent when it got a big rip and that was 10 years ago and still holding strong. Dental floss is cheap and will last so much longer then string or thread.
