I can't believe how easy it was to tear down that two stroke engine, I have a new respect for them now. Watching you working those stuck carb screws out was intense! The whole video is a ton of fun. 👍

Factory Sunroofs always leak when the drains are blocked. Clean the drains.

I have a manual impact screwdriver I got from Harbor Freight just for one stuck screw on a motorcycle carb. The impact part comes from hitting the end of it with hammer. Worked great and I think it was like $7.

You're gonna do the Desmo shuffle? lol Brave man... Agreed on the .50 over Wiseco with that kinda scoring (the fingernail noise.. wow). I did see some cheaper ones out in ebay-land, but I've always had good luck with the Wisecos. Didn't know you played D2.. Nice! (Titan main personally)

Wiseco doesn't list anything for the pre-78 bikes, but I'm told sometimes their online inventory isn't always correct. The Desmo shuffle just... has to happen. No local shops will touch desmo drives and it's probably due for that particular service. Hunter main here, stasis plebian running a "yes can I have *all* of the ice please" build that gives me absurdly plentiful melee ability and grenade ability. Absolutely decimates adds.

If your sunroof drains aren’t blocked check the tubes are located correctly into the drain tubes in the front arches and in the boot area. Iirc they just push into the rubber outlets and can leak there as well as just pop out. A suitable straight plastic hose couple can solve this. An if you still have the ‘duck bills’ on the sunroof drains outside , behind the arch liners, snip off the ends as they bung up with crap Always enjoy your vids, keep em coming

I follow a well-known VTwin engine builder and most people on his channel are not interested in the rebuild of his 68 GTX 440. Makes no sense to me and I agree regarding new piston, rings, and a fresh bore to fit will make a huge difference.

Unless the scores in the bore are deep, just replace the piston and rings. You can drift out the pin with a punch. Rebuilt a TS250 with a cylinder bore much worse than this just by replacing the piston and rings. It ran well as a parts getter.

7:14 These mixture screws is getting stocked because of the front fender is to short (like mostly other bikes) and throwing dirt and moisture constantly over the carburators.

Those 3.8 in the Buick have a magnet in the cam sprocket that has a tendency to fall out. It causes the car to batch fire your injectors, killing your fuel economy.

We are able to use HPtuners to turn off the injectors one at a time and it does work properly so I don't believe that's the issue

Letting the fuel evaporate in a small engine like that mower is almost certain to make it fail worse, rather than fix. If you want a lazy fix, dump a bunch of seafoam in the gas and force it to run a few times, which will clean the carb to some degree. It might not be enough, but it might be.

Hilarious how easy to was to tear down that Yamaha. You mention bikes don't do as well on the channel. Well, bikes like the Honda or the Ducati don't interest me, but I love simpler, smaller displacement bikes and scooters like the Yamaha, so loving the content on that so far! Contemplating getting my bike license someday so I can pick up a cheap 125c or 150cc to zip around the local area on :)

Ha ha I live in Florida where if it's 150cc or less you don't have to have a motorcycle license, just a regular one. I have a 2015 Tao Tao 150 cc 4 stroke motorcycle "scooter" that tops out at 60 mph and will burn the rear tire on the dirt road up to about 20 mph. It's rather hot rod-ish for CV tranny "scooter". Too bad I locked up the clutch last year and never got around to fixing it. Like you I've been updated on my inspiration to fix it and maybe even get another dirt bike to fix up.

@@JoshuaDemersProductions I live up here in Nova Scotia and you need a motorcycle license for pretty much any bike here unless....it's 49cc or less, has foot pedals (aka moped) and has a limited top speed of 35kph. :/

@@OdykKayne That sounds like the old law for the legal limit with no license at all. They changed it almost ten years ago so that anything with a gas engine has to have a license, but Electrically Assisted Bicycles (miniature motorcycles) are legal up to 700 watts (1 hp) and 20 mph without a license. I've owned three of them over the last five years. The DT, replace spark plug and or check Gap. Too much Gap will create a rev limit....

I used to have a Kawasaki F9 350, a great bike although the oiling system didn't work that well and the piston would seize randomly. So I got really good at always having my left hand on the clutch ready to engage it if the piston started to seize. Eventually I started mixing gas and oil in the tank, along with the "injectolube" system. Solved that problem. I now have a KLR650, which is a way better bike, but not as much fun to ride as the F9. Was it that the F9 was really better to ride or the fact that I was 18 and my first bike?

Realise this is after the event but when trying to fix carb or anything else, I would always try to limit my drilling or cutting to a removable part rather than the main body of the carb. Could you not pass drill through brass jet then use smallest easy-out ?

Wait....a VW product that you need to do a compression test on and is difficult to work on? I don't think so. Everyone knows that VW's are not only extremely reliable, but easy to work on too. My 7 year old can do it. But she is also Daddy's baby and can do anything in the world. She's smart, and pretty, and a damn good artist. All those things are true too and I'm not just saying that because she is my only daughter and my baby and her 3 older brothers routinely piss me off. What were we talking about? Anyways. Sorry about the bike Jake. I have faith in you though. Don't know why, I don't even know you.
