Well speaking of embarrassing hospital stories, I had to go get my blood tests done and the nurse there asked me if I get dizzy after blood sampling. And I was like nah, just get this over with, I'll be fine. Fast forward to me having a needle stuck in my arm for 25 minutes because nothing was coming out (low blood pressure) and then faceplanting myself on the floor right after they asked me if i was ok
When I was still in school, a classmate of mine fainted when she was having a blood sample taken. Turns out it was because she hadn't taken breakfast yet. Ever since then, I've been so scared of that happening to me. Because I've never passed out before, so I guess it's a fear of the unknown 😶
I remember I had to do a pee test and my mom was helping me. I ended up pissing on her hand and filling the cup all the way up. Lesson learned: never ask someone to help you with peeing into a cup.
i get sick a lot, but it was way worse when i was a kid. i had a lot of lung issues, especially bronchitis. it got to the point where my mom would just have to call the doctor and say “it’s the usual” despite the fact that i’ve been around doctors all my life, i still have panic attacks in the office

I got one done on my kidney and bowels earlier on this year and all they saw was old scarring and my tampon but the lady was from the university and doing it with super vision and it took ages becouse she couldn't figure out what it was and I was to embarrassed to say anything
I feel you my dear. I feel you. At least you went through normal tests, its not that bad. Least you didn't get to be a patient that is made into a guinea pig for a group of medical students to learn as a pratical like some field exhibition. Now THAT is embarrassing. Considering if you had come out from surgery that was done on your tail bone (backside). I was horrified. Enough said.

Hmmm I had an endoscopy once. All I remember was laying down on a bed and being sedated, waking up and leaving 20 minutes later, no sprays or blood. \_•^•_/
I had my first endoscopy and colonoscopy when I was 13 and my throat hurt for a bit too, my esophagus cramped so bad for a few days 😭 then I had my second when I was 14 but fortunately there wasn’t much pain that time :)

The skin there still looks a bit weird to this day lol The hospital one.. well Basically I had not eaten much and everything, including water, just came out again as vomit a few hours after I had to stay there, hooked up to stuff that gave me nutrients and water for a few days (I wasn't starving myself tho, I had a severe throat infection causing me a ton of pain, leading to me eating/drinking less, leading to my stomach being weird)

I was diagnosed with gastroparesis when I was 13 but instead of a endoscopy I got to drink honeycomb favoured milk with a tracker in it and then had x-rays every day to watch it go through my entire digestive tract (it took just under a week). turns out that the reason I have it is because of ehlers danlos syndrome

So , I used to faint very often when I was younger due to lack of nutrients because basically I had no appetite until grade 4 or 5. So , one day I needed to take a blood test in the morning ( you shouldn't eat before blood test ) so i was a bit weak . Did the blood test and on the way home , me and my mom stopped by a convenience store to buy some snacks for me to eat . The moment i stepped out of the store , i passed out and had to be taken back to the hospital. It was embarrasing because you don't really see little girls fainting face first onto the floor of the store plus the customers there- yea. The second time was a bit later , I was sick and had vomitted the whole day due to food poisoning and my mom had work so she sent me to my grandma's house to take care of me. Her building had an elevator and the second i stepped in , i fainted and there were like 2 other people aside from my granny. Just lying there eyes open but couldn't see anything. Was dragged out by my grandma.
When I'm in the hospital to have a needle put into my vein, they can't never find it on both arms... PS I fill the cup all the way too, because I'm focusing on passing the line required for the test...
It's the complete opposite for me. My veins are kinda popping out so the nurses go nuts when they see it! If they were cats, my veins would be catnip to them 😂😂
Hello Josh! I’m a nurse and one of my specialty is endoscopy. I think that you’re pretty lucky and potentially prevented worse ulcers by starting to eat right. You should also avoid taking too much coffee, alcohol, and carbonated drinks when you feel stomach pains or you feel bloated to decrease gas build up and/or gastric swelling. About the urine sample, it’s perfectly fine to send a cupful sample. What’s important is to submit a sample midstream: meaning you pee a bit then hold it to collect the urine in the cup. This ensures that the urine would be fresh and clean. The amount needed for your urinalysis is usually just about a test tube’s worth. No worry, no judgement if you give more than enough. Quick tip for awkward procedures like ultrasounds: I usually rotate between a few tactics, but the main one, and my personal favorite, is what I call the "Curious Child" maneuver. Basically you just ask a bunch of questions, like "what does that machine do?" Don't be annoying about it, but just enough to remove awkward silence. It usually works, and most of the doctors seem to genuinely like talking about things like that. Works especially well if you have a baby face.
You are not the only one, I remember getting ready for my urine test feeling prideful like "HA-HAA, I've have done it!" just to see everyone's is either half or what seems to be barely testable. Do you want the pee or don't you make up your minds people!

@@Nopedynopenope72736 Yes. Eat fish or chicken. Brown sliced bread is good too. Look up in the internet healthy foods. Eat a salad with a few chicken strips but don't limit food intake to an extreme. I weigh 104 ish (I live in America oof) and I'm 15. And you are starting to have anorexia, my friend.
So I had to get part of my thyroid taken out cuz of a goiter. I had to stay in the hospital for at least two days so my thyroid can heal a bit. Also while I was sleeping, the doctors and/or nurses had to wake me up (after my surgery) while I was sleeping to give me yucky liquid medicine XP. It kinda bothered me cuz I was trying to sleep, but it had to be done. Also I had to have an IV in me at all times next to one of those plastic bags that have some clear liquid in it and it was kinda painful. This happened during Christmas 2015
I have had a endoscopy in the past. At the time I was 11. I was suffering from extreme abdominal pain. I too went trough all those stages and let me tell you, It was uncomfortable. I had to pee in a cup but also.... I uh, had to do a poop test. Probably more embarrassing thing I have done... Glad to hear someone else’s experience with an endoscopy too!
THE PEE PART THO- okay- so story time real quick- ~~~ I was really sick for a bit- and after about two weeks of this getting worse- my dad decided "You're going to the doctor today" So I tried telling him I was fine and will get better over time- but in the end, I ended up going... After a few check ups and that I got given the little... container pee thingy? (God knows what it's called) AND I TOOK IT- LOCKED MYSELF IN THE TOLIETS AND ENDED UP *CALLING MY FRIENDS MOTHER* JUST TO ASK HER- "heeey, long time no see- yeah, I'll see you on the weekend- what- oh yeah- umm... so... I'm at the doctor at the moment and was wondering something.." "yeah..?" Was the only thing she said after that and I remember asking her something stupid like- "So, how much pee do I give them?" And oh my god... Thank god she never brought it up after that- BUT OH MY GOD SHE WAS A LIFE SAVER- XD
I can relate to you so much. My family always ask me to eat rice when I have upset stomach. I also had endoscopy when I was 6 and I have gastroenteritis while watching this, I hope I get well and you too:)
I am suuuuper squeamish when it comes to things going inside me through my throat (other than food) this vid scared the crap out of me and you can bet that if I had to go through that I would run FAAAAAR away from that doctor but it was an awesome vid cuz it scared the crap out of me I'm weird
I was also not ok with the idea of a camera going down my throat and after all the research that I did the night before the procedure, there were some people who'd get an endoscopy without being sedated...so I was scared about being conscious throughout the procedure but thankfully my doctor decided to heavily sedate me. I don't know what I would have done if I was awake through it all 😰
My stomach always feels tiny when I eat so when I do eat my parents sometimes dont believe me when I say I'm full. Some days I could have a normal day and then I would eat like I was starving other nights I could probably eat at least half of my plate. I guess since my parents dont make that much money and cant always have food it's been messing up my stomach? I've been like this since I can remember tho.
When I did a urine test I also filled it to the top 😂 also when I went to the hospital there were 3 medical students (I think) at the back taking notes or something and the doctor pulled down my trousers and pulled up my T-shirt... My Mam could see how embarrassed I was and I hated every minute of it >~

I’ve had 9 endoscopies the past year and a half and it’s really not bad. To people who’re gonna get it: All that happens is you put cream on the back of your hand, you wait a while but then they put a thing in your hand that puts you to sleep (or you could get the mouth piece that Josh did, I didn’t get that). You get a little bit dizzy then you pass out. Once you wake up, you might get a sore throat if you had a biopsy like Josh and I did, for a small while. You also might get a sore head. The blood spitting that Josh explained isn’t actually common so you probably won’t get that. After a few hours you can just go home. I’d also like to note that I was 11 at the time of my first endoscopy so if you’re around that age or older, coming from a once 11 year old, it’s not bad and it’s not gonna kill ya.
I skip meals a lot, and not because of my weight. I have heart burn and celiac’s disease (can’t do gluten, acidic things, spicy things, or a lot of spices). About a year ago my family didn’t have health insurance or much money and we lived in the great ol’ USA I couldn’t see a doctor. All I knew is that food hurts, throwing up hurts, and the taste of acid sucks balls. So I didn’t eat. I ended up getting to 93lb, I am 5ft 9in, before my news school noticed something was up. My friends were telling the teachers that I never ate lunch and the teachers said it wasn’t their business. So my friends started trying to give me their food. I would accumulate 2 protein shakes, 3 breakfast bars, a boba tea, and a slice of pizza before lunch on average. I started eating some of the food they gave me and the food chain calmed down. But one day the school was serving garlic bread, and I am in love with the stuff. My friends saw it as an opportunity to feed me so I ended up having a lot of bread that day. Soon after lunch I was feel very sick to the stomach. Since I was in class I decided to play it off cool and just ask to use the bathroom. When I got there I immediately went to the nearest toilet and started gagging. Since my body obviously wasn’t puking on it’s own and I just wanted whatever was hurting me out of my stomach I used my finger and made myself puke. I felt shitty after, but it was better then every step being a gamble as dull knives covered in superglue were stabbing my stomach. One of my friends was vaping and heard someone puking their guts out, so they put the puffbar away and went to check up on whoever lost most of their internal organs. When I came out of the stall they asked if I was ok, of course I lied and told them I was fine and tried to get out of there ASAP. Guess who told a teacher they thought I was making myself puke after eating. Since my breath smelled of acid a lot and I refused to wear anything but hoodies and baggy pants (yay not understanding why you hate yourself body but not for the reasons people think). So I got called down to the office and was thoroughly questioned. They asked how much I ate, weighed, and the such, and I was honest because I thought I was normal. Then they asked if I had ever made myself puke after eating something. “I did yesterd-“ “Oh honey, don’t ever think you have to be skinny to please other people. Your body is just fine the way it is!” “Can you let me-“ “I know peer pressure can get to you and that Instagram can be-“ “I FELT SO SICK THAT I COULDN’T STAND UP! I JUST WANTED WHATEVER WAS CAUSING ME PAIN TO HE GONE! I DON’T CARE ABOUT BEING SKINNY! THE ONLY THING I CARE ABOUT IS THE DAILY SUDOKU ON MY GAME!” Long story short my parents got a call from the school saying that I should go to the doctor because I may have something wrong with my digestive track. Not even three days later I’m puking my head in my councilor’s office saying; “turned out bread and acidic foods were making my digestive track form a mutiny against me. Gtg, got to meet up with my friends before class”
