My personal experience with a non stimulant medication for ADHD.
Its not (technically) a review, as everyone's experiences can differ.

Excellent short. Compared to the stimulants I've experienced over the decades, this NRI has not affected my raynaud's. I just got off of a year of Sunosi, a DNRI, and feel much more in control of myself and less emotionally agitated. Having just started on this, I pray that they've finally got something that works with my physiology and life requirements. It's been a long time, and I know God has good things in store and His purpose for our trials. Bless you for sharing.

Did the other medications affect your raynauds in a good way or bad? What were the side effects? I have raynauds and also been looking for a medication for adhd for almost 12yrs now
@Godly_Man
@Godly_Man 6 месяцев назад
@@Cryptic_Wolfz The atomoxetine works well for adhd. When titrating up slowly over months, the side effects were very minimal; but, months after leveling, bupropion had to be added back in to help with mood & general motivation. But w/both, I had to have them titrate me down some on the atomoxetine. It takes a long time to get back to yourself; and when you do, there is an overshoot. I'm still being adjusted ... so, still a work in progress. Specific to Raynaud's, acetaminophen (Tylenol slow release if you can get it) is the best OTC. It is literally a godsend to counter vasoconstricting side effects of almost every regiment I've been on. But, just know even with a Dr monitoring & Rxing it, you'll have periods throughout the day where the raynaud's is uncontrollable. So I time when I take the acetaminophen to get me through a critical activity of my day. In my experience, anything stronger has other downsides I don't want to have to deal with. I pray this helps. Hang in there, God knows your struggle.

How much L Theanine are you taking? I agree that it helps with anxiety as I take 700 mgs a day. I tried to take a break last year and anxieties came crashing down. I got back on after a month and was able to manage better. However, I'm concerned that I may be nearing the upper limits and while it does help, the anxiety is still there and hard to manage at times. Wondering if it's time for prescription grade alternative.

I used to take Strattera but I kept forgetting them. For years I've been on and off Ritalin. But like, the 10 mg ones. However, I really wanna review my meds again. Perhaps MR Ritalin and a very low dose of tablet Ritalin might help to motivate me/be a good alternative! I'll have to talk to my doctor. Tho, now that I'm older (22) , it may be easier to take things like Strattera.

When I studied abroad in Japan, I took Strattera (stimulants are illegal in Japan). They worked pretty well as long as I took as every day, but I had a similar problem. Strattera helped me focus during lectures, but that was about it. I still couldn't focus enough to do readings and it did nothing for my hyperactivity. I switched over to Adderall the moment I got back to the states, and it works so much better for me. Not only can I focus during class, but I'm also able to complete my class readings, and I don't have to worry about accidentally kicking the person sitting next to me. Another reason why I stopped taking Strattera is because of the side effects. It suppressed my appetite to the point that I lost weight because I just wasn't eating. And when I did eat, I couldn't eat that much. Like, if I ordered a small soup at a restaurant, I couldn't finish all of it. Also, when I took my morning dose, I had awful nausea. So I spent the first half-hour or so feeling like I'm going to throw up. And unfortunately, if I don't eat breakfast (which was often), it made the nausea worse. But I couldn't eat because I wasn't hungry and I was too nausea to even try to swallow something down. It got to the point that I would skip my morning dose on days I had an early class. Adderall also suppresses my appetite, but I can at least eat a decent size meal. Not to mention, I don't have nausea anymore, which has made my mornings much better. So that and the better focus and less hyperactivity mean that I am much happier with my Adderall. Honestly, my only complaint about Adderall is the fact that it wears off after 6ish hours, but I just plan my day so that I get as much done before it wears off. Strattera is helpful for some people, but it definitely was not helpful for me.

I’m not able to take any stimulants because of a weight condition that results with me usually at 10x lower than what’s normal, taking it would cause my body to not be able to respond to it properly, especially with my weight, and i’ve been taking strattera for a month or so now and it’s changed my entire life. there’s of course been times i’ve gotten depressed when off of it since because of my weight it only lasts for 5 hours then wears off but strattera actually helped me with doing so much more in my life and fully being able to express myself so much, even if it’s just 40% better, it stilll is something i see my entire life differently with now
