Go look up Dr. Sten Ekberg's youtube channel for a goldmine of good diet advice. Exercise is important, but secondary to your food intake. Good luck.

@Ryan.....i don't know if you're serious about being 300 lbs, but I can tell you there's no better exercise for a heavier guy to lose weight. If you're heavy, running is incredibly difficult and not great for your joints. Cycling can be done by anyone, and you can ride long enough to start losing weight. Then it becomes contagious. Get out on the road and go for it. Your life will change for the better. Best of luck to you, brother.

My tip is just go around your neighborhood or anywhere that's avalible, try some sprints and climbs, and shift through all the gears to see what you like best on all terrian and different gradients

Try not to crosschain so like dont be in the smallest gear in the middle and in a high gear at the back or vice versa

Jeff said in one of his interviews (i think when he was still racing his di2 felt) to shift when your pedals are at 12/6, and after employing this I have found that mashing and shifting makes for some smooth, but more importantly, stealthy shifting.

@Nicholas Jonah it's the weakest point of the your pedal stroke. It's to avoid shifting at a point where you're putting all your power down

Do a mountain descent, and you can reach that speed without a draft or barely any watts so you will know what the speed feels like and not need to imagine.

Always been an athlete... Ever since finishing up collegiate baseball I have tried looking at other sports for interest and to fill that void. Came across your channel only a week ago; What you do and how you explain what you're doing is incredibly intriguing and satisfying. Seeing you on these last laps getting ready for a sprint makes my heart pound in the chest. You make me want to give cycling a shot! Great videos and amazing effort. Earned a sub and like from me. Love cylcling videos just what I need to get it going the blood I love it. I always watch these before I go out and get my body moving. I always watch one of these, and then put up my heavy playlist like Delta Parole, Three Days Grace, System and then I just go haaaaard!!!! Tactic hasnt let me down yet.

43 mph on a flat, wow. I hit 45mph on a steep decent once. :) Every sport has different levels of skills, but when you start scratching the surface you realise it takes years to get to the point someone else appreciates what you do. There is so much competition, consistently winning anything is so much rewarding. Thinking about world class events just hurts my brain.

The analysis and commentary are excellent as always. Having the wind direction available via the map is handy but I've always wondered if some sort of wind vane like graphic might make it easier to see what is going on with the wind.

Hey Jeff is there any chance you do some analysis/advising for triathlon racing? There are no teammates there but the peloton/breakaway thing also occurrs there, is there any way that we triathletes can apply any of the strategy described in your videos?
