Hey everybody!
I can't believe we finally made it to this day, woohoo!!
Sorry for the extremely long video, I just wanted to show you a very real and honest vlog about the full surgery video, and also film as much as I could whilst I was recovering.
My recovery has pretty much been spent in one place - on my sofa!! Each day I was improving a little bit more than the day before, so I was trying to keep positive and push through the pain.
I definitely forgot about what to expect since my last feeding tube surgery as that was 9 years ago, so I am also glad I recorded all this footage so when the time comes around again for me in the future, this video will help me remember what to expect!
Thank you so much for always supporting me on this journey!

I’m getting caught up on the last few months of videos. I’m very glad you had your surgery and hope that it has relieved a lot of your pain. 💜

Hi Beth, Thank you so much for the length of your video. You say sorry because it is long ? Nooo the length made us really follow the progress day after day and it is very interesting and more confortable. What a Woman you are ! fighting and fighting with your legendary bravery. Otherwise, I can't stay silent and must confess how much I have been totally fascinated and impressed by the size of James's calves muscles ! Wow even bigger than Jack Grealish ! ;)

Great tips for getting the gas out (I had two cesarean sections in past) and my peg-j tube surgery Organic peppermint oil x3 drops in warmed sterile water and pop down your tube it will help disperse the gas. Well done for getting through this little by little you’ll heal up it’s a marathon not a sprint big hugs 🤗 ♥️♥️xx

Hi Beth, appreciate you showing such a tough week of your life after surgery. Not sure I would be able to do that. Glad your better as week went on. The closest I can relate to what you went through was when I got my appendix taken out a long time ago at 15 years old. I was in a lot of pain from the surgery and it hurt the most when I laughed. My hospital mate kept telling jokes all the time, Which were funny but also hurt. I told him to stop but he wouldn’t. Anyway, I recovered but I still remember that pain. Again much respect for how you deal daily with chronic illness💪

I can tell you that the yellow coming out of your tube is bi from your intestine. If your tube does not have a clamp, you can pinch the tube by bending it and very quickly disconnecting close the cap. I hope this helps, and just know that it is completely normal for there to be bile in your tube. I hope your road to recovery goes smoothly. :-)

Thank you so much ❤️ my old tube didn’t have a clamp but it didn’t seem to have the bi come down so quickly! This one doesn’t have a clamp either I wish it did!! I might see if a Bobby pin or small clip would work haha xxx

Beth can I ask u what type Jej u have as I am looking at this surgery & I really want at some point for the longer tube to change to the button but I heard my local hospital where I'd be having mine placed only use freka tubes & in order to change them they have to be done surgically given they have internal & external bumpers on them so wondered if u could tell me the type u have so I can ask my surgeon at my consult in August if they can order one in or refer me to an alternate hospital so I can have Lp or AMT tube placed that uses the internal balloons instead as I dont do well under anesthetic anyway & having clEDS I heal really slowly so if ever my tube needs to be changed for any reason it would mean using more resources & more surgery. I was told that frekas aren't used much these days due to this reason as they can be more invasive but my local hospital dont have much knowledge about different tubes so much so they dont have their own tube team at all our nearest one is leeds so they only know how to place freka tubes which cannot be changed to button tubes in the future & the bumpers so I have heard can become stuck internally & externally cause more rub. I dont know much about stoma Tubes but I do know what I would prefer & what would be best for me overall so if u can help me do some research on various tubes ready for my surgical consult I would really appreciate it. I cant have laparoscopic surgery due to complications so would need open surgery & this also is an issue if my hospital uses a freka & it needs changing as it would be major surgery each time. So it would be good to know what tube others use for JEJ placements like yourself as been told due to my anatomy & my last NJ tube flipping twice a PEGJ wouldnt be the best for me. Thanks hun sorry for seriously long question u can answer here or on my IG if easier I dont mind either way I wrote question here as IG doesnt allow u to write as much lol. Hope your feeling better xx

In order to stop urself from sneezing, when u feel it coming try HUGGING urself hard around the chest

I tried this and it did sort of help but James kept telling me to think of a pineapple as apparently if you think of a pineapple it stops you sneezing 😂😂❤️
