It kinda surprises me that this one never caught on like an Accord or Camry. So much classier looking in my opinion.

i mean Mazda had a early reputation from not having reliable cars...that carries a lot. ppl who got Hondas and Toyotas kept buying hondas and toyotas....even tho mazda got classier and sportier, it doesnt mean anything if they cant get the older folks to buy it and it wasnt cheao enough for the young kids to get it....like if anything i think kia/Hyundai has done a better job at carving a piece of the market for themselves over Mazda

I have both the 2018 Accord 2.0T and a 2021 Mazda 6 Signature. The Mazda is made to a much higher standard than the Honda. Everywhere you look inside and outside, the Mazda seems like a higher quality product. Even the trunk area is just nicer and more premium in the Mazda. The rails that the seats move forward and backwards on are cheap looking on the Honda but nice on the Mazda. All the little things are nicer on the Mazda, the trunk even has a grab handle on the inside for closing the trunk. The pros of the Honda is the larger trunk and more rear legroom and that 10 speed transmission…..and the 2.0T engine is better than the Mazda’s I feel like. It revs so smoothly and feels so powerful. Overall, I prefer the Mazda.

Hands down one of the best, if not the best looking family sedan out there. I was going to buy one a couple of years ago but the lack of interior space made me decide to go for an accord. I'm pretty sure a lot of potential buyers felt the same way. So Mazda, next time you design a family car make sure it will be more spacious like the accord or camry.
@80s_Boombox_Collector

I disagree, today's sedans are already way bigger than they were 10+ years ago, so why do they need to be bigger? I mean today's Civics are bigger than the Accords of the 90s. It's ridiculous. More size and weight detracts from handling and outward vision.

Well, at least they sent it out with a bang! Absolutely LOVE my 2021 Carbon Edition. Easily a head turner, even though it’s an old body style. Also, Mazda did a great job keeping it updated through the years with HUD, cooled seats, Wireless CarPlay etc. You can’t even get some of that on brand new some cars costing double what this costs (looking at Tesla & Infiniti). I’m glad they only made it for one model year. It’ll be a rare sporty and economical find years from now when all manufacturers switch to making SUVs. I expect it to hold its value the best out of all the Mazda 6s

The car is simply beautiful, I love saloons ( Sedans ), I am a Brit 😁. People are silly sheep, they want these oversized big cars that all look the same. Problem for me with the Mazda 6 is they are front wheel drive , also in UK they are underpowered in petrol version, the diesels are a nightmare due to DPF probs and they fail. Imagine if these were RWD and AWD and had a beast of an engine, it would be a killer car!.

This breaks my heart! I love my 2019 Grand Touring Reserve in Soul Crystal Red. I actually bought it after owning four Hyundais because the seats fit my behind better than the Sonata of the same year. Great pickup, good mpg (27.4) over the last 5,000 miles, and fantastic styling. The only thing I really miss are additional lower driving lights. I do love the bright white headlights and the fact that they turn as you turn. The interior is the prettiest I have ever had in any car I have ever owned. I would buy another even if it didn't have AWD. I have my Santa Fe for that.

The 2.5L Turbo has plenty of zip, it's comfortable and drives smoothly, it's a lot of fun to drive, and the Bose audio system is fantastic. The only downsides I've experienced are the slow, outdated infotainment system and some excessive wind noise at highway speeds. They're very minor issues though, in my opinion. The Mazda6 with the 6 speed manual was a dream when it was offered. The 2.5T is great; however, AWD isn’t possible with the current chassis design which is a bummer. I’ll have to disagree on the wireless charging and touch screen. Wireless charging that I’ve used in multiple vehicles is slow and doesn’t always activate. It warms the phone nicely though. The infotainment rotary knob is simple to use and allows the driver to keep his/her eyes on the road which is why they haven’t gone touch screen.

You don't need all-wheel drive in most on-road places in the US. Yes, it helps in places that snow, but that being said, a good FWD car with snow tires will do very well in the snow. I know, I have had one for 10 years now and never had an issue in the snow with FWD. All-wheel drive can also cost more in maintenance. Nothing against AWD, it doesn't hurt having one. But FWD is by no means inadequate for many people. I'm sad to see the sedans die one by one. SUB's are boring, slow, ugly, and lack soul.

I had the pleasure of owning this car briefly before returning back to school full time and having to get something more affordable. It was my favorite vehicle I’ve driven to date after being in VW’s, Audis, Hondas, Toyotas, Lexus and a BMW 3 series (a lot of test drives and rentals, most of which occurred during owning my VW.. go figure). The 6 Turbo was.. a love story on wheels. It was the fastest, but one of the most thrilling. Not even just for a 4 door family car but I’d say it was a sports sedan at an affordable price. It handled beautifully and felt planted. The power delivery was flawless and was always ready to burn some rubber or pass with ease. It’s truly sad to see such an amazingly engineered vehicle be put to rest. If the rumors are true it may come back as a RWD sedan in the next couple years. However, seeing this car get the chop hurts my heart quite a bit. It’s one of the only cars I’ve had a love for.

"you're looking at a living dinosaur...." as a man of "a certain age", that's probably why I bought one this summer. First new car that I bought in 15 years, and yes I did get a deal on it. Guess there's a benefit to being a dinosaur buying an aptly jurassic car. Mine is a touring (non turbo) model, and frankly I'm OK with that. I'm the kind of person that tends to hang on to a car for a long time and the thought that the engine won't be under that kind of stress works for me. To be sure, I'm a recovering motorhead, so Mazda was always on my radar as a company that builds a driver's car. Even with the base engine, this is indeed a driver's car. I've owned a few performance cars over the years and I would put this one at the top of the list in terms of handling. The base engine/trans isn't a dog either...for virtually every kind of driving the powertrain will deliver what you need when you need it. In the current world, there's something to be said for MPG as well. You will get 40 on the highway at speeds of 70 + and 30 around town if you're not heavy at the lights. It's not Camry mileage, but this looks and feels better. When you're driving it, you're DRIVING.

Too Bad..... Notwithstanding that Everyone is Buying SUVs, CUVs, Pick ups, etc... We had a 2005 Mazda 6 in the family. It had a Nice , Peppy V-6 Engine that typically got 24- 26 MPG on the Highway. It was ZOOM-ZOOM , with great Handling (Mazda was Known as the Poor Man's BMW - "They" were Right. It had plenty of Zip, and in 2008 (I Think ?) my son had it to use at UMASS. On a certain day up there in Amherst, It rained, snowed, rained, and then got cold. I always told him to stay on the Major Roads - But like all Kids, They don't listen to their parents. So proceeding Slowly, down a road which had a sharp left Bending turn (there were Boulders lining the curve which opened up to a open field), he hit the Brakes on Black Ice... You can have 20 Wheel Drive, Nothing works on Black Ice - Rubber doesn't mix well with Ice. He hit a Boulder buffering the curve, which sent the Mazda airborn, it flipped over, landing on the roof and Just Missed a Sole Tree in the field !!! Of course, my son had a friend as a passenger in My Car (insured by me too). Both young Men came out Without a Scratch !! The roof crunched, the glass in the windows operated as engineered , breaking Out instead of Into the passengers. That accident spoke Volumes about the safety and quality of this Mazda 6 . I spoke to the Police who arrived om the scene - He was NOT Drinking or Smoking Pot - Black Ice he said. Although he was pretty badly shaken , my wife and I came up the next day of course (we live in Suburbia NY). The seriousness of the accident hit him a Few Days later. Oh, and Thanks to Geico , who were terrific, they settled the claim immediately, totaled the car and I had a check in my hands in a few days for an amount that surprised me. They used comparables to determine the settlement - I think it was more than the Bluebook amount. My son Thank God finished UMASS and became a Special Ed Middle school Teacher in Long Island. Be well all, Happy Thanksgiving. Kiss and Hug your Kids, EVERYDAY !!!

As a 2017 Mazda CX-9 Signature owner I was recently faced with buying a new car. My CX-9 started having some minor electronic issues and had 80,000 miles on her, plus given the recent gas price increases, thanks to our non-legit elected leaders, I decided it was time to make a switch. So I started looking for a high end luxury mid size sedan appointed similarly to my CX-9 (I didn't want to go backwards in terms of comfort, bells and whistles etc.) So, I researched most all of the high end luxury cars, i.e. Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Infinity, Acura, Cadillac, etc. and to my astonishment, I could not find one that came with a comparable level of comfort and luxury as my CX-9 that was not priced up words of $50 to $60k. I'm not talking about base models, I was after the top of the line models. Now I know many of you might say that is what luxury cars go for these day, and I would say that you were "Mostly right". However, after test driving a 2021 Mazda6 (Touring) (I was impressed by the feel and and how it handled, but was disappointed by it's lack of luxury appointments) I decided that I needed to also test drive a Mazda6 Signature (same level as my 9). Once I did that I was sold and my decision was made. The 2021 Mazda6 Signature is a beautifully appointed vehicle. It has essentially the same creature features that my CX-9 had plus more, like ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats and some others. It's is really a shame that Mazda discontinued the Mazda6. But hopefully it's replacement, whenever it comes out (2023??) will be even better. By the way I only paid $32.5K for mine which is nearly half of what it would have cost me to get into some of the names. There are only a few new Signatures left on the market, but you can still find one if you look hard enough. I had to Leave south Florida and go to Texas to get mine, but it was a fun drive home. Hope this helps

Hate to see it go. I go back to the 626 and love those cars. It became impractical for me because the touring came with 19 inch wheels. I live in the snow belt. 19 inch low profile tires are crazy expensive and useless in the snow. Switched to an AWD Camry. Miss my Mazda

Absolutely love my 2018 Mazda 6 Signature. To me, it is hands down the best looking family sedan inside and out on the road in this segment. Has been the perfect car for me and my family of 3. I am one who normally trades cars often, but when I think about it now, I can’t bring myself to get rid of it. I love the turbo 4, the handling, and ride…but I prefer a car with sporting intentions. I love the dial, as I can use without taking my attention away from the road and think better option than touch that you have to reach for and focus attention on. This just falls to hand and easy to use to me…🤷‍♂️. Sorry to see Mazda nixing it.

I love that car companies are switching to crossovers. it means I will have plenty of sedans to choose from when i am in the market for a good, cheap, used vehicle.
@justrandomthings319
@justrandomthings319 2 года назад
How is that good? If sedans are dying, that means there will be less options even on the used market. In a couple of years, they'll be near extinct. It's really annoying.
@jonathanmarquise422
@jonathanmarquise422 2 года назад
@@justrandomthings319 not really. I can buy a used camry and drive it for the next 20 years and the operating costs will be nothing. by that time my knees will be shot and I will want a crossover. you can buy a used sedan at like a 50% markdown from an equivalent crossover in the same lineup. the accord and camry aren't going anywhere, and those are probably the only two sedans I would consider buying. a used avalon too perhaps. and if I'm not mistaken, mazda is going to bring the 6 back as a RWD sedan.

I have a 2015 Mazda 6 GT and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I've never had any problems with it, I bought it brand new, I now have 141,000 miles on it and still drives like new!! Mazda made a HUGE MISTAKE BY GETTING RID OFF MAZDA 6!! I personally don't like SUVs! They are bulky, don't drive like a car and burn more gas!! I will keep my Mazda 6 as long as I can. I am confident I can drive it half a million miles! BTW, those who are looking for a Sedan like Mazda 6, consider 2024 Nissan Altima SL. If I was in the market for a car today, I would buy the 2024 Nissan Altima SL which give you all the bells and whistle, great gas mileage and it's a little over $30K!

I’m actually pissed with Mazda. They gave up on 6 after their own poor judgment. They had the opportunity and engine to catapult the 6 and their brand upmarket with the vision coupe concept styling shown in 2017 alongside the Kai concept. The 3 looks just like the Kai concept and the 3 has done well sales wise. If the 6 had been redesigned like the vision coupe, it would have done well also. They had a powerful inline 6 developed and they dragged their feet for years. They kept building hype about a 6 replacement and missed a critical window to reinvent the car. Instead of striking while the iron was hot they ultimately hid their mistake behind the argument that SUVs sell better. SUVs statistically sell better but their is still a market for sedans. They could have produced a limited amount and had the option to order a 6 if ones not available on the lot. Mazda claimed low sales numbers killed the car but really it was them stringing along a dated body style for too long with an under powered engine that never gave buyers a reason to pick the 6 over other sedans.

No wireless charging or back USBs is really nitpicking in a car with 1,000 other good features. And no touch screen when driving is good for safety. Mazda simply discontinued this due to low sales .. they made an awesome car. Not “keeping up “ with little things wasn’t the reason they sadly ended the model in my opinion. I just think it was sales, despite it being the best midsize sedan out there in my opinion

Mazda is definitely right up there with Toyota and Honda and I'll say better then Nissan to take its spot as part of the big Japanese 3 like the US is GM, Ford, Chrysler. The Mazda 6 would have definitely done better if it were bigger with an AWD option. It looks better then a Camry or Accord or anything Korean. I think Mazda will catch on with consumers especially now with the CX90 and CX70 with a straight 6 and Rwd bias. Imagine that engine in a Madza 6 predecessor with the Awd option.

I think they we're thinking about going the AWD Sportback route. But they probably noticed how KIA flopped with the stinger so they decided to play it safe. They are a small company so they can't afford to take gambles like KIA and Hyundai do.
