Hey 👋 There's definitely some pros and cons to being online as well as in person. I would recommend you sorta create a list for yourself of Pros and Cons and pick the side that will benefit you most 5 years from now.. not today. I personally believe that in person allows you to not only become part of this community but also to network with many students that will go off to work in many aspects of filmmaking.. aka friends of friends that will know you and you know them. The power of this business lies in how many people you impact positively and can work with more than once. You create connections that grow together into future business partners and coworkers. The ability to test your skills with hard work during productions to me has impacted my learning ten times more than lectures. Depending on what time of work you plan on doing post graduation, this can also be a Con. Understanding what it is you want to do will better guide your path but also in person education has allowed me to discover every aspect of film.. to include this class. I never have even considered working for broadcasting productions... now it may be something I consider after I graduate because it's good work and decent money.

Once you receive a camera.. use it dailyyyy!! and never on your own.. always follow along to tutorials step by step and slowly so you don't miss anything. Then go out into the field and practice a lot! Shoot as many documentaries as possible! Find gigs and small jobs! Stay active and you will be successful!! :) oh and also.. keep practicing even after you think you have mastered your craft.. because truth is.. you probably still suck and have room for improvement.. I still suck too don't worry! Be proud of your work always and keep improving! Start a resume from right now! Ask friends to help you shoot projects! get better at writing! just have fun! You will do just fine!!!
