On reddit, there are a lot more horror stories between students and teachers, at the Fullsail University campus. I hope you can ask for an interview with that professor and ask him why is he a jerk. Please continue to showcase the good and bad, that way all parties: (students, admin, faculty, staff, everyone else) are held accountable because every organization always has room to grow as a collective. Thank you for your outstanding journalism!!! I'm also prior military. Thank you for your service.

Trust me I know, I try to keep it positive around here LOL The purpose of my channel is to NETWORK and it's the one thing that is most pushed here on campus.. but when we go network this happens.. Overall this university has been amazing and I have had great opportunities and have met amazing people! ..but as we both know from the military, Sometimes you just have to play the game. Deal with the ones that have low moral. Deal with the long hours putting in hard work. A silly RU-vid channel like this has given me tremendous amounts of encouragement to keep going when tons of students have talked to me personally saying how much my content has motivated them and the reason they joined Full Sail was because of the vast amounts of helpful information and insight I put out.. I always say though: DO YOUR RESEARCH!! 🤣 Thank you for your service 🫡

Man I love this channel. Im in 11th grade but I’ve been wanting to go to full sail since 6th grade 😂. One night recently I just decided to do some deep research on full sail to see what other people think and I stumbled across this channel and ever since I’ve watched all the videos. I’ve been so eager to just graduate Highschool and sign up for full sail. Before finding your channel I had my mind focused directly to sportscasting, but ever since I did I’ve now been considering film. If you could it’d be great to see what the sportscasting program has to offer from your videos . But love the channel man keep up the great work.

You a real one Derrick!! I'm glad you have not only found a channel but also a crew to be part of. Before you know it senior year will fly by and you can continue your education towards an amazing career! What interests you about sportscasting vs film? I challenge you to REPLY with a bunch of questions you may have about Sportscasting and I will personally go find those fellas and ask them your questions to them!! I will show you their studio and control room and ask them advice on why they chose their career program!

@@anotherfilmer I wanna do sportscasting because I love doing like the deep dives and getting information about players or teams and I love talking stats with my friends and girlfriend even if they don’t understand 😂. I grew up watching sports because of my brother and growing up and learning more made me like look into things more then just watching games and I wanna be those people that talk sports and have does friendly arguments 😂 kinda like Stephen A. Smith. And film just by watching your videos made it look very interesting and fun and looking at the success people have gotten from film it’s inspiring. Once I start thinking one 1 question I think of 100 others 😂 but mainly just want to know more of the program maybe things they found out by just joining it and what are key things needed and maybe some advice I can do as a high schooler and definitely would like to know if they are happy with there career path and a detailed like explanation on it, would love to just learn more about the program from a student perspective. I recently was the announcer for my school on senior night when I told my teacher what I wanna do for college and I took that opportunity to get some experience and confidence on a mic and writing a script. Sorry for the very long message I get really like excited thinking of full sail and stuff but yeah I’d also like to know more about your experience on full sail and like advice for future full sail students. (If there is any grammar errors I’m sorry)

@@anotherfilmer You're welcome! I'm currently based in Southern California mainly the Inland Empire. Unfortunately, due to my personal circumstances and commitments I won't be able to attend the campus, but I'm on track to be in Portfolio 3 by May 💯🎥

Thank you fam! Do lots of research of course but also don't let too many people's opinions influence or discourage you.. look at the facts on paper and compare which university gives you the most for your money and be part of an university with a strong community that will motivate you to excel! At the end of the day you have to ask yourself will I be happy now and also 5 years from now 🧡

We were never allowed to film on the backlots during our time at Full Sail, and they made getting permits to film on the site near impossible. We were able to get a permit once for a smaller project we were working on, but security booted us because they didn't think it was legit. (It also was bummer because Full Sail continued to heavily advertise the use of the backlots at this time.) Full Sail overall is really weird about who is let into what parts of the building, which to your point seems very strict, especially for filmmakers looking to connect with other departments. You should host an interview with some of the students/staff who volunteer as the tour guides around campus for when they host visiting tours.

First thing they told us when I started the film classes on campus was just this. To avoid the backlot because they make it very difficult, almost impossible, to get film permits to film on the backlot. Just like with the backlot, V1 Studio is one of the areas heavily advertised for the film program but we have maybe one opportunity ever to actually shoot there for like FI7. Their biggest uses for both are for Behind the Scenes tours and for actual paying clients. After the fact, I completely understand the use of this student area and why the professor got all sensitive about us filming in there with a Game student, and I also don't plan on even wasting my time by trying to go in there next time. The issue I am mostly bringing to light is how this campus is so advertised as a collaborate university and how much they push networking.. How my badge gave me access to this area but yet getting asked to leave when everyone involved gave consent. Great idea! Maybe I'll mic up one of the student/staff who volunteer and show the fam what the campus looks like! I can show up to one of the BTS tours as a guest as well to share my experience of the HUGE show Full Sail puts together to sell this university.

Exactly! It would've been one thing if certain passes allowed specific students in based on their degree, but it has some flaws. That and every teacher seemed to have a different understanding of the rules. Some are chill, some are strict. Sorry you got unlucky, but it was important regardless. former on campus sportscasting student here ✋ full sail is ass lmaoo. teachers are on a constant power trip 24/7, but they’re incompetent asf and actively suppress student creativity… especially as someone who centered around esports. that said, full sail’s esports faculty made up for it tenfold in my experience. great staff there. full sail is a mixed bag, but there is some good. just gotta look for it.

You'll love the new video on the sportscasting students! You aren't wrong.. but if that's the only reason you attend Full Sail: You've failed yourself! Like you mentioned the people and the networking is what you're truly paying for! and yes.. Full Sail is NOT the only way haha

I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this University will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. We hold these truths to be self-evident that all Creatives are created equal. I have a dream that one day on campus the students of Game Design/Dev and the students of Film will be able to sit down together at the table to partake in focused work. I have a dream that one day even the state of Florida, a state sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that one day the rough places will be made plains and the crooked places will be made straight and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together. This is our hope. This is the faith that I will go back to Full Sail with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope in order to be allowed to film a film at a film school.
