I talk about this in one of my videos. It really did take me over a year to star feeling confident in my practice. It can be scary.

I am also a nurse resident. Soon, in a week or less, I will be on my own. Our program is similar to yours, but after the 90 day period, we are considered RN 1 and it goes up as you get more experienced. I kind of able to take care up to 4 to 5 patients with my preceptors. Some patients are easier than others and it really depends on their level of care. I feel so scared because nursing is stressful, but as a new nurse, you know getting used to charting, documentations, procedures (it is just impossible to know everything), is so overwhelming. There are some things that we only learn by practice, and some things that we do not do as often and we forget. Good luck and feel free to talk to me. Talking about it really helps.

How’s everything going!?
@kytpuma
@kytpuma 4 года назад
@@madisonwyatt6282 Like I do not know if it is just me, or if it is normal to feel anxious before my shifts. I sometimes I even feel like crying. I am more quick and more confident in doing certain things, but others, I still need to practice. The things that I can say is that, always ask for help (charge nurses and other nurses), dont ever do something if you are not sure. Also, take one day at a time and feel free to talk to your managers (at least mine, they are like really caring and they care about us), dont ever hold feelings inside. Help others and others will help, we are a team, and everyone is essential and important.

I’m in my second month. Yesterday was my first night on my own. I remember on my first day the nurse that was precepting me was such an ass. Instead of teaching me she just told me I didn’t know anything. Some older nurses are bitter and lazy

Agree the staff nurses love to tell you how you may need a new career or how new nurses can’t keep up meanwhile they’re unorganized and erratic asf.

I've started watching you when I first began nursing school in August 2019. I finally finished my first year of nursing school and graduate May 2021! It sounds so close yet so far. Watching you just keeps me encouraged to not give up even when school gets difficult. Also, I love checking in on your life and hope everything goes well with your work!

I felt the exact same way! I started working on February and I got sick, they had me with a preceptor (which overwhelmed me a lot and made me question of it was the right place for me) so I spoke up to my head nurse about it and they changed my preceptor. I just finished my training yesterday and I am feeling better than how I started...it can still be overwhelming but I try to take it one day at a time.

I bought some Brooks (as a second attempt to try them) and they kill the tops of my feet. I don’t know what it is! So many people love them but my feet just don’t. I’m in my second level of nursing school about to start finals in the next few weeks. It’s nice to see your journey. Your patients are lucky to have a nurse so dedicated to being knowledgeable on the care she provides. 💗

You’re so sweet!! ❤️❤️ have your tried ASICS?! Your feet might love those instead & they’re much wider than brooks normally run 😊

diva2648 how bad do you want it ?? Keep working through the rejections, keep at it, day by day. Or you could quit. The choice is yours.
