Rudy, each theme has a special land that you can only get in that specific theme.

First land is a unique themed land. There are probabilities within each theme so you get variations, some are even mythic. I have the Phyrexian land too. This was a SOLID box.

Watching Rudy trying to find the matching pile is like a kid screaming at the TV during Blue's Clues or Dora the Explora.

You need to show the basic land, each theme has a unique basic with related art

46 Themes, 11 Mythic, 15 Rare, 20 Common. Mythic’s have one list variant, Rare’s have two lists, and commons have 4 lists. Each theme has a special basic that goes with it.

with Jumpstart there is 78 brand new cards (denoted by the numbers in the bottom left, all the other 500 cards are reprints) and the first land of each pack has different art linked with the theme of the pack. Like the Dog pack which you didn't get has a plains with a dog in the plains. Each deck has about 3 combos which can be pulled. The 3 most expensive new cards are the Elves - Alasaurus Shepard, which goes for around $70, Mill - Bruvac and Goblins - Muxus, Goblin Grandee. There is 46 different types of decks. Yes the Phyrexian seems to be the rare of the decks and the swamp goes for around $20

Pressman print worker here.. Its called comp marks for the "dancer" and "compensator" to align and layer the colors if its on a 4 color multi unit printer. Such as a 84 sheetfed printer vs m600 roll fed. The dots come in forms of crosses and at times with a second line or dot just above or below to show the "work" area. These types of packs are ideal for printing. Depending on how the plates are done, you can have them printed with each sheet being one full deck or one slot per sheet dedicated to one deck and have them cut and stacked ready for the wrapper. Plate errors are uncommon to find. A recent example I've seen in his videos would be urza's mine foil normal art in double masters with the "erased texts" in the text box. Since that mark is consistent with several others, I would claim the plate got mismade and noticed fairly quickly, someone got out of hand with a "eraser marker" for plates, or a drop or two of Metering roller cleaner (MRC) got dropped on the rolling plate and dried on the image rollers/blankets. Because of the clean erasure, it would lean towards a eraser marker on the black bottom plate

Whoever got those boxes did very good. Those were solid pulls. 3 craterhoof and everything else worth getting.

There's 128 different decks, 32 different types of decks and 4 variations. And the craterhoof is a 45$ card, and the study is 25, and the teferi is 35, the Oracle of mull daya is 30, and there was a few more 20+ so yes, a good opening

Each JumpStart park has 1,2, or 4 variants. Each pack also has a 25% chance of coming with 2 rares/mythics. Each theme has its own special art land as well.

The value is all in the mystic/rare at the start and the first land. Shepherd is the best card in the box with Tinybones being the second.

Information for Rudy: Each cover card has a set number of possible "deck lists". Some covers have 4 different lists with different rares, and some have exactly 1 possible list (a lot of which are guaranteed mythics). For example, the Elves pack either has a craterhoof or an allosaurus shepherd, each with their own exact "deck" with no variance. 2 craterhoof decks are exactly the same. The "common" packs usually have 4 different lists, and sometimes have a 25% shot at a decent rare

In my box, I had 3x the very same Tree-Hugging pack. Pretty mad, except for the fact I also got 2x Rise of the Dark Realms and 1x Allosaurus Shepherd.

Here the quick and dirty of what you need to know. There are a total of 46 themes, divided into mythic, rare and common themes. There are 20 Common themes each with 4 variations, 15 Rare themes with 2 and 11 Mythic themes which don't have a variation. Apart from the rare slot, check the first land as each pack has a land themed after the set. Some of these lands will easily be worth more than the rares as obviously you need a lot of even the common ones to have a matching set for your deck. The common misprints to look for are in the common land slot and are double/over printings..

That Alosaurus Elf is the most expensive single still...

so jumpstart is weird. each theme has a different frequencies. Also, within each theme there are different layouts of each theme which has different frequencies. overall this is horrible for targeting specific singles. wizards also released all the permutations on the jumpstart web page on the magic website.

Still glad that the one box I could get had Allosaurus Shepherd and a pair of Tinybones. Wish Wizards would hurry up and print more of this set, it's a ton of fun to play.

Best things on jumpstart are the concept and new basiclands 👏👏👏

You want elves always. Either a craterhoof or allasuares sheperd. A guy at my LGS packed two shepherds and one hoof in one box. along with tiny bons, linvala, and other goodies. That shepherd is 100 bucks!

As far as what's good and what's bad, the best permeantation is one with a mythic, then two rares. Any pack with a M21 is a hose. The two rarest themes are Phyrexian and Unicorns. The high theme to my knowledge is Elves led by Allosaurus Shepard.

There are 46 different themes in 121 different packs. Themes I don't think you got in the video: Unicorns, Mill, Liliana, Phyrexian, Chandra, Garruk, Rainbow, Dogs, Pirates, Rogues, and Wizards. There are 37 cards new to Jumpstart and each theme has one unique basic land. No foils. All boosters have at least one rare and one in three packs has an extra rare, not counting the Special Mythic packs.

This set is so good! I was able to get a box from Amazon for $141 and got back like $440 worth of rares/mythics, lands, etc. My reason for getting box was for "Allosaurus Shepherd" which I got in an Elf deck! I did a duplicate Dog, with both Pack Leader... but, came with this nice plains card with a white dogo in the background. I also got two vampires decks with both Exquisite Blood!

Quick tips for rudy: 1. Show us first land 2. Yes some decks are more rare, us i know there are 3 tiers od rarity. 3. Yes you can have same deck with different cards, but not every deck has variances. It depends on rarity of deck, most common ones Has 4 variances, more rare 2 variances and most unique 1 version.

I think the first basic in every pack is a themed land For opening strategy you could put all mythics and rares and uncommons in piles and then the themed land in a pile for easy management

Blessed sanctuary is a amazing card. One combo is with command the dreadhord you can steal every creature in everyone's graveyard.

You should look at the uncommons too, there are variations with them too. Like some Vampires have Sengir Vampire and some don't. Of course you can always tap the official Wizards jumpstart deck list

Some themes have multiple variations in the rares and other cards. For example, angels may have 3 different variations with different cards in them. Also, the themes have rarities, so Well-Read may be rare while Legion may be common, so you would see Legion more often.

Yeah I got a 4 packs and got Minions and Phyrexian themes. Got Phyrexian Tower from minions and Sheoldred and a Phyrexian language land. Wasn’t expecting much from these packs but they are pretty nice.

There's a second Angel deck you didn't manage to pull! Even with three boxes, it's amazing that you didn't make a complete set.

Idc, Primeval Bounty is probably my favorite big green enchantment, love that even though you usually take the turn off you play it, it just makes everything you do that much better.. free 3/3s, 3 +1/+1s, and/or 3 life usually at least once a turn if not multiple of each effect. It's a simple card, but I love it.

so for jumpstart, the way they work is that each pack theme has a set "rarity" delegated to them, and I use rarity loosely because it doesn't indicate the rare slot but does affect certain pack themes in terms of variance. MTG Gamepedia has all these themes laid out, from common to rare to mythic, with each common pack having 4 variations, each rare having 2 and each mythic only having 1 set of cards you can pull. Walls, for example, is a mythic pack, which means you'll get the same cards every time you open a pack with the walls theme, whereas something like plus one or spellslingers will have 4 different sets of cards you could potentially get. Also, take the time to appreciate the basic land card that is inserted in every pack. Each theme has a designated basic land that has art relating to the theme of the pack itself, like cats having a cat in the forest art or dogs having a dog in the plains art. You'll know which basic is special by the jumpstart set symbol on the basic land, as there's only one of them and they're usually at the front of the other basics. Make sure to keep an eye out for good themes like phyrexians, those especially have great art for the basic lands, and that swamp actually fetches a pretty penny.

I had 4 Under the Sea packs in my box but I also got a Craterhoof, Phyrexian pack, and a misprint Baneslayer Angel where the ink for green cards bled onto it, so the value is very very random Double Craterhoof is a solid box though, but the Shepherd is the chase mythic

I think it would be interesting to have a random tournament with the deck: You would buy in, get to choose a Jumpstart pack, your deck MUST include all cards in the jumpstart pack, and play the tournament like that.

If it has the same theme its 85% the same cards. There are 3 or 4 different cards in the them variants. There are 46 themes and 121 variations. The rarities of the cards is subjective, heralds horn is an uncommon but is only in one of the 121 variations. I love the set I bought two cases, used cards from my collection and bought a few singles and now I have a cube with 42 of the themes. I use it like smashup.

I'm building my first commander deck and have 94 cards. I bought a buried ruins. I need to cut out a few cards and fix my mana. Can't wait to play paper Magic. It's got an Avoid Fate... and Elephant Grass. I bought 350 dollars in NM cards on Card kingdom using Tolarians link. You guys should collab.

Very awesome and interesting array of packs. It reminds me a lot of Smash Up, with the similar concept of taking 2 decks and 'smashing' them together. I can see the replayability and seems there's some little goodies snuck in there too. Cheers to a fun video to end Friday evening.

Bought one box when it came out and it had 3 Liliana packs, so that felt pretty epic to me. Would definitely buy again, such a fun product.

There are up to 4 rarities of themes, mythics have a planeswalker and only one variant, where other themes can have 4 different versions, one of those is always the best and has 2 rares or mythic plus rare.

I pulled a phyrexian swamp, out of one those. Didn't even realize It was valuable i got a spider queen mythic too, I cant remember what its called but triple value in that one pack. Keep up the good work rudy, love your channel.
