I'm an English teacher in a school in a big city and I have massive issues trying to convince my students (especially male students from underprivileged back grounds) that reading can be interesting. If they were to see someone like you talking about books, I think it might help them change their mind. Thank you for what you're doing and good luck with your channel!
oh you're like a breath of fresh air in the book community. I like many booktubers but there is definitely a lack of diversity and with it a lack of truly diverse tastes imo. this is the first video of yours I've seen and already I've got my eye on a few of the books you mentioned because none of these were on my radar because of that aforementioned lack of diverse tastes within the book community. it's good to have new and interesting people who help bring lesser known books to attention. very excited to see what other recs you may have!
When you said the book made you feel like you have Netflix in your head lol I smiled so hard because that’s what reading is for me. It’s like a movie in my head and I love being put into the world of the book I’m reading. Love your haul and the diversity of the books you got.

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir (Sci-Fi), The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides (Thriller), The Reformatory by Tananarive Due (Historical Fiction/Horror), Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng (Literary Fiction), A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman (Literary Fiction/Humor, also translated from Swedish), Educated by Tara Westover (Memoir), Kindred by Octavia E. Butler (Historical Fiction/Sci-Fi), The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid (Romance), and lastly The Broken Earth Trilogy (The Fifth Season, The Obelisk Gate, The Stone Sky) by N.K. Jemisin (Fantasy. There is a bit of a learning curve with this series as you learn about the world and its rules, but the payoff is well worth it. It's one of the best fantasies I've ever read!)
A MAN CALLED OVE is a really fun read. And EDUCATED, by Tara Westover, is a wild ride. Although a memoir, as you point out, in some ways it's truly a horror.

I love that you read rom-coms. 😁 And it’s a smart person that looks up how to say things. That’s the best way to learn, IMO. You read very nicely, too. Not too fast; many booktubers read so quickly it’s hard to make out what they’re saying. 👍🏼

Usually when guys do book hauls it’s always like self help books or the alchemist lol so I was pleasantly surprised to see such a wide array of genres in this haul!
Good haul! I wasn't crazy about The Great Gatsby myself, but if it got you back into reading, it's obviously a good thing, so, thumbs up to it. :) Death of a Salesman is great. It's been decades since I read it, so I'm probably due for a re-read. I've got Blacktop Wasteland but haven't read it yet, either. You can never go wrong with Toni Morrison. Anyway, happy reading!
I love to see more men loving books especially young black men it’s really special to love to read and see the story from a writing perspective to a movie standpoint it’s definitely differs helps increase your understanding and vocabulary spelling but even you imagination and visualization skills. Earthling was the strangest story I’ve ever read! Very unusual but a fast read; I finished it in two sittings. I don’t want to spoil anything, but my jaw definitely dropped several times while reading it. Great book picks!☺️

I like your diverse selections. I typically read high fantasy/adventures. But your selections really get me intrigued with those genres based upon your choices and descriptions. I will be trying at least two of those. Thanks for bringing new eyes to the booktube world. It is refreshing not to see the same popular books and authors recommended over and over again

This is the first time I’m seeing a man openly be into books. How awesome! My recommendations are Confessions by Kanae Minato and IQ84 by Haruki Murakami. IQ84 has that mystery, romance, and drama and it’s one of all time favorite books along with confessions.

I bought Sula in December and am also super excited to read it. My first introduction to Toni Morrison was The Bluest Eye and I was absolutely blown away by her writing. So powerful, poetic and lyrical! I love that you are into classics too! I want to expand my reading taste and see what else is out there. :)
