My FIRST Persona 5 Royal Experience // Part 5: Spaceport of Greed (Blind Reactions) 

I’m truly sorry about your horrible experience just as I’m surprised (the same goes for James’s) Also I never played on merciless so it actually blows my mind the Big Bang challenge attack can kill you from full hp while guarding (also it’s an almighty attack so you cannot block it in any way) that means the game actually expect you some advanced trick, basically the only solution (if again you’re maybe under leveled or you have personas not very strong) is to debuff his attack (or buff your defense) with someone who will die from the attack while Joker guards. (Pretty sure you need to do this kamikaze strat only if you play on merciless). You guys should definitely try Shin megami tensei Nocturne (you’re never going to find an harder turn based game) , I actually think this game holds your hand way too much and the all out attack deals an insane amount of damage For this fight you absolutely have to think how to do the most damage possible and also using attack and defense buffs and also you cannot rely on all out attack. It’s not difficult as it seems and just playing defensively to buff and remove status when you face a new horde is the right strategy. Also the game already provided you with more than enough tools to make you win such as charge and concentrate for joker and baton pass. Also you should have many items in your inventory that you can make your party use to always hit weaknesses and reach rank 4 baton pass)

@@edwardsuou Pretty sure if you have the hungry status effect the Big Bang Challenge heals you instead.

@@Fusseliko I thought it make you take more damage, however that’s not relevant because it’s too random, even if it worked like that you would need hunger to hit Joker without missing just before the Robot concentrates. The thing is you should not play on merciless just to defeat the weaker robots easily. You should use baton pass and single hitting skills and object alongside charge a good physical move and destroy them. Bosses in P5 has usually no weaknesses so you should never play on merciless if you don’t know well the combat system, you risk to be locked in unbearable situations like that because you have neither a very good arsenal nor a bulletproof strategy. James should’ve get a few minutes in the Velvet room and take more time to think of a proficient good team and also reflect during the fight to use better the turns he had. Then we would’ve won no problem in every difficulty but merciless. (He would not need to survive that huge damage with an advanced strategy).

He deserves every attack he got, if you played the game to the 7th palace you know why.

*Indirect Semi-Spoilers* Akechi, pound for pound, is probably the most interesting character in the game for me, but people have every right to hate on him. I think he’s fascinating and pretty deep, but the “Akechi did nothing wrong” crowd is just as annoying to me as the “Akechi is P5’s worst character” crowd.

@@Zakemaster *Spoiler* . . . . . I appreciate you understand as well that people who say he did nothing wrong are insane, he literally volunteered to be a serial killer and destroyed around an hundred lives (or a close number). I’ve never been more mad about a fandom because they treat him like a sweet poor thing, who was manipulated, had no agency over his actions so he only deserves an hug. Personally I’m pretty mad because the game too because often they treat him like a victim too (it never say what he did is fine but you have several dialogues about his suffering and none that treat him like the criminal he is) and even for the only time they mention him being a killer the other characters are so compassionate there is hardly a time to talk about his responsibilities and his account. If they did throughly like with almost every other villain people would not misunderstand his character this much. But that’s not really a problem of the game, all the ending of vanilla from the Shido palace was rushed and they don’t address many other things either, it’s not exclusive to Akechi. Although the special treatment he got in third semester is a bit excessive.

I believe they recently changed it to 16, but sure when this game was made that would’ve been the case and to be fair it’s not like Futaba is much younger than Joker anyway. It was more weird to me because she’s like your little sister more than anything regarding their ages.
