best to turn the racing line off. it does more harm than good when learning tracks

In T1 you're driving it very much like a car with downforce rather than focusing on keeping the weight transfer smooth between axles and paying more attention to gradually releasing the brakes through the corner and being more patient to get on the throttle. The vee is very much a "steer with the pedals" type of car. Welcome to the rabbit hole lol

You can actually race in single player mode against AI if you want to. The AI in this sim is meant to be very realistic.

Welcome to iracing, my advice, take your time, don't rush to get higher and faster cars just spend time learning the basics and slower cars.

A good channel to have a look at is Sambo iRacing. That guy is up there at world championship iRacing level on the Vee's and has a couple of really good videos on Vee techniques including start techniques, braking, button clutching, draughting etc... All really useful stuff. Hopefully see you on track one day 🙂

PRO TIP: You can join currently live races and race as a ghost driver for practice in a real race. Nobody can see your car or interact with it, but you can still race as if you're in it. You can even join high level races as a ghost and see how you do against the better drivers.

10:35 ehh, you also drifted out. Its the passers job to ensure you pass cleanly. Yes, he also was tur ing in so thats likely a racing incident but as someone with 13-14 years on yhe service, if you go for a pass and understeer out into them, even if they had "space", its on you to make the pass clean unless they turn into you. But you also cant just go up the inside and then fade out into them because you understeer. Not bad! Hope you grow to enjoy this service! It can be QUITE thrilling. Ive done some low level amatuer racing with real cars and the anxiety i got from that (placed 2nd at a national level event) is the same as when im in a top split race in iRacing. Also at around 11:28 that was an unsafe rejoin by both of you. You cant just rejoin while everyone else is rolling by. If you hit even 1, thats 100% your fault. What sucks about spinning off track in the lead is if you cannot rejoin safely, you need to let cars pass until you have a gap. You and that other car did something quite dangerous.

not sure if you are aware or not, but the draft/slipstream in the F Vees' is ridiculously powerful, try sticking right behind the car in front and you will get crazy overspeed if you're close enough (need to be within 1.0secs)

The spin at 11:30 Some advice, that is not how to safely rejoin the track, you were just on the throttle ramming into the guy, I get the rush to get back into it etc but that's just not the way to do it man. Ramming through the guy to get back on track. As well, no regard was taken for others coming round the corner and it was highly likely you could of wiped out god knows how many. Not a moan just some advice, it's something you see alot people doing awful rejoins because of their errors and ruining the race for others. You seem better than alot of other beginners to it though and can see you will end up doing well! As well as your bad feeling for the incident. Keep at it mate! Subbed! Hope you enjoy iracing man!

just so u know once u are in the race server after u press the green race button all your incidents count for safety rating so try to be careful in practice and qualy Great Race m8

In this car you also have to manually let off the throttle and shift up and go back on the throttle

Can really recommend the free overlay iOverlay! Big improvement to the stock overlay

it really is the best sim, the new rain really solidifies this

Never use 4th gear on the Vee. Keep it in 3rd at all times unless you reach about 89mph, then shift but get back to 3rd gear when possible

Good video. Just wanted to let you know that your wheel FFB is clipping a lot. When it clips, your wheel is reaching it's max output before it's actually outputting the entire range of force that the game is sending to the wheel, so your actually not feeling some of the information since your wheel is reaching max force. All cars will behave differently, so the best way to make sure each car has proper force feedback is to do the following. Anytime you drive a new car, go into the settings and always make sure that the "Use custom controls for this car box is checked", then after a couple laps of practice, in car, go into the black box panel that has the FFB settings (Hit F9), there will be a button that says "Auto" that you can click, and it will automatically change the wheel force settings so the wheel will not clip all the time, and will only reach peak forces at appropriate times. Hope that helps give you better FFB detail!

Honestly, you look alright. Turn the lines off, and that lap 1 incident was 100% not on you. Plenty of room, and he left the door wide open for that move, by no means was it too aggressive. His bad for turning in on you. A good tip is to not worry too much about what's happening behind you, because you saw what happens pretty quick. You got major siked out and lost it on the brakes, even though neither of them actually made a move.

I think you got some aero damage when you crashed at the beginning. That's why you lost so much on straights.

You have aero damage from your crash at turn 1. So your down on straight line speed

Turn on your relative box during a race. Or better even, always! :) This will make you much more aware. Great driving, push push! Edit: sorry, that is the F3 button ingame :)

don’t shift so early. and sometimes downshift. will help out tremendously

I am not sure what wheel base you are using, but you will need to adjust your force feedback strength in game due to "clipping". See the graphics box (top right) FF has a bar that was flashing red. It is found in your blackbox under graphics

oh and shift point 3rd to 4th in the vee is 83-84mph

Please turn the racing line off! Try the Ray ff1600. It's a much better car but is still at the beginning of the formula progression

Have your relative on when racing instead of lap timing

You should turn off the racing line. Once you know the track, following the racing line will slow down your lap times. SOF = Strength Of Field. That is the average i-rating of all cars in the race.

I'm about 6 months farther into the sim racing journey than you. Use the racing line to learn the track a bit for a few laps and then turn it off. It'll make you too tunnel visioned during a race. It also will keep you from developing better habits like looking farther down the track instead of staring at the line.

Turn the line off. You will find it very very distracting. Just take your time and it will come to you
