@@stankshop I have been in the hobby for over a decade. I definitely have more painted, about 2x as much, but I easily have 3x as much unpainted, so no good sir. You do not have a pile of shame, you have at most a puddle of shame. You've done fantastic work! I recently decided to stop purchasing any 40k Models until I had painted at least 50% of the unpainted portion, which I've already made a dent in but it will definitely take some time, but I will admit, the loophole is "40k" as I definitely did not sink my teeth into the Skaventide (Skaven half) portion I've been waiting on for about 3-4-5 years? (There were rumors back in 2018 they would be getting new models... People were right, just, half a decade too early lol)
Buddy, I don't think you can call that a pile of shame considering just how much work you've put in in such a short amount of time. Your models are very well painted, too! Thanks for sharing, man!
Thanks! I doubt I'll get anywhere near my last year numbers as since posting this and starting to make more videos it's been tricky to find enough time to paint. I've also spent a fair bit of the last month or two re-painting things to make things youtube worthy. That said, I'm intending a big crunch soon to try and make up for that time :)
Ya, I got really into it. I was recovering from an injury for a few months, and there wasn't much I could do. Ended up forming some habits and just keeping with it when I healed up!

Thanks so much! That's awesome that we started around the same time. I spend about 20-60hrs a week painting these days, so a lot of it is just putting in the reps. As I get better, I go back and try and bring things I painted up to my new standard.

I intend to continue attempts, but would highly suggest checking out Vince Venturella's Hobby Cheating series. It's been my Textbook through the learning process. He's got over 400 videos, and they really are top notch, straight to the facts and virtually no solicitation.

Thank you! I try to make progress in some way every day. My focus has been on improving. Everything I've learned is from RU-vid, so the bar was set pretty high. Most of these armies were painted while trying to learn something. The Aeldari were all about learning to use my airbrush. My Space Marines were strictly a project to learn to edge highlight (poorly). The Orks were all about learning just how painful I can make things for myself... I mean, Cell shading.
@@stankshop Trying different techniques is not a bad idea, seems like a good plan. Painting so much as possible seems always good to imrpove painting skills
Hell yeah I believe everyone in the Hobbie should create a video atleast showing there progress Looks good for a year. How long u been painting cause u definitely have painted elsewhere if u painted all these.
Thank you! I painted about 3/4 a board game 5 years ago, but stopped short of finishing. Last year in may I finally got around to finishing the game and its expansion. And picked this up mid june. I...uh, kinda caught the bug from there.
Thanks for asking! At this time, I'm still hoarding these until I finish the army. That said, I'm a big fan of @DaRedWunzGoFasta channel and he has just started a bits service. I'd recommend giving that a look. I'll let you know if this changes for me as well!
