They were probably quoting him for replacing the audio control module no sound is a common issue needing the ACM to be replaced put that's still ripping people off you can buy a matching replacement or send your broken one in to be repaired $150-/+
I updated mine on a '15 Edge without real reason to do so and it cause my heated seats to stop functioning. I performed a master reset back to stock firmware and the heated seats worked again. The wisdom of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" was reaffirmed to me that day.
Bro!! I bought this 2013 last year and the sync has been terrible! Nothing but problems from skipping songs to random shutting off or radio not tuning off. The biggest was the Bluetooth or USB barely worked, only when it wanted! I just did the Ford upgrade and if people can’t find the link they can google Sync update and put VIN in! Let me tell you the Bluetooth is instant. Everything is faster and works as it should! Thanks so much for this I can’t believe I suffered for a year! Thanks again awesome thorough vid!

Bought a 2013 Edge. Looked into things found it had never had SYNC updated once. Downloaded software from Ford Site. First time Failed. Went to Ford Dealer he acted like a ass-hole because I did not buy from him. So I walked out and re-downloaded and uploaded it to the USB Stick again. Went here to Good ole RU-vid for advice. Came across your Video. 22 minutes I completed the download and did drive during process. Thank you for ford it totally out of line for cost these days.
Thanks for the video. I just got an update for my 14 Fusion. One would think the second largest car company in the world and the largest manufacturer of software could give as complete a set of instructions as you have. At first, I just followed the instructions on the support web page. It completely messed up my system. Buttons were not responding at all and or picking wrong functions. After performing the re-install using your complete instructions, all seems well. The most important instructions are "using a clean, properly formatted jump drive" and "wait for the second installation complete prompt". For anyone doing this for the first time, I cannot stress the importance of sitting in the vehicle and watching everything that goes on and pay attention for the last 2 prompts for the software completion. They only stay on for a little while, if you are not there to respond, they will disappear and the system goes to the home screen. You will think everything okey dokey, but you will find it did not update properly.
All what you said is nice and I do hope it helps allot of people, BUT with my 2014 Escape no reset or battery disconnecting helped me something no one thought about including myself with the problem as no audio at all. Yes FORD suggested the latest update $$$ or as I was advised elsewhere it could be that thingie behind the dash at $600... way to much and of course I missed the last date for it to be under the extended warrantee. All this said my problem actually started a year ago when the vehicle would show shutting down to save power (when it was turned off) the radio would shut down and the delayed headlights would go off. Didn't think too much about it. Then comes this virus and were all stuck at home and the vehicle sits for 2 weeks or more. Go to start and nothing, I charge the battery, in fact I had to charge it 3 different times (the charge is not holding) I went to FORD had the battery replaced . A week later driving down the road I want to phone a friend and click and voila everything is working again all audio is back. So if your battery has been in the vehicle for say more than 5 years look in this direction it just might be tired and need a change. I am back being a happy camper.
I have sync 2. The only issue that I have is with navigation. It gets lost sometimes. The arrow on screen wanders of the road, that you are on. When it gets back on the road, works great again.
Yeah, it doesn't have to be a "quality" drive. Mine was a cheap one, 8gbs. Worked fine. Just did it yesterday on a used 2014 that was still in 3.08(not 3.8, as is commonly stated. That would be going backwards to update to 3.10). I was hoping this update would fix that I do not have 911 Assist. It did not. Still don't have it. I was hoping that it would fix that the compass says I'm facing North when I'm at home, and only at home. I'm not. I'm facing due south. It did not fix that. It works fine anywhere else but home. The system seems to respond faster now than it was. BUT, now, if the car is in gear, I cannot change anything on screen. I have to use the manual controls to change audio or climate controls. That's annoying, because it could be the passenger making changes, not the driver, so the driver would not be distracted, but at least there's a work around. Maybe that's a new menu item I can turn off that I haven't seen yet. Also, after the update, the system no longer sees the customer wallpaper background I used to have installed on the jump drive. I haven't changed anything about it. It sees the USB, but does not see the file. As I'm watching, I'm also realizing I did not do a master reset. You're the first video/article that said to do so, including Ford itself. I have a question, tho. Deep in the info in MFT, it states "Ambient Lighting --- Available." Does that mean I have ambient lighting ready to go, but it's not been enabled? Is that something that could be enabled w/ FORScan or FOCCCUS?

I was hoping someone could help me. My touchscreen is not responsive, SO, when I load in the upgrade in the vehicle, in order to begin the upgrade, you need to press the "OK" button on the screen. Well, my screen is not responsive so no way for me to move forward. Has anyone figured out a way to remove the opening warning screen that required the "ok" before moving forward?
I installed this update today on my 2013 Explorer, and it seemed to go fine, but I never got any kind of update success message. After it rebooted the second (or so) time, it all came back up and the radio came on, and that was it - no message positive or negative. The software version shows correct in the help menu. All seems to be working, and I don't think the 'Where am I?' selection was there under Information before the update. What do you think?

Hay I have a 2013 ford edge v6 limited . The sync system will flip out ! For intense I will put it on fm radio and it will go to xm . Or I will turn on ac ant the heat gos full blast . Or if I out navigation on and it goes to radios screen. Or the the heating system will just turn on buy it self . I refuse to pay for thousands of dollars to search a problem that they say dose not exist yet won't watch the video of it doing said thing . Any thoughts? I am all about changing sync out for new system!
I have a 2011 F150 and the radio does not produce any sound. When I turn it on, the display picks up the radio stations and everything else from Bluetooth to CD's but when ever I try to turn up the volume all that is displayed is "Max Volume", and the volume bars do not even show up. It does this every time and I have replaced the radio and amplifier with stock ford replacement parts but I still have the same problem. Can you please give me some input on what I should do next. What if when you touch your touch screen it doesn't accept the touch. For example. I can't heat seats because when I go to touch it it diesnt do anything and this is with everything on the screen. Everything manual still works. Radio and ac controls below the screen work. Please help 2014 Ford edge LS 6cyl

I noticed something was wrong because when I hit Quick dial it highlights and beep showing that I switched over to quick dial but the screen still shows the phone option. And now I noticed in my navigation the same thing happens which some of the menu options aren’t popping up

hello i just got me today a ford ranger 2017 made in argentina, the my ford touch system 2 i think and the only function is the radio, no paring, no touch is working event, so any ideas how to fix that (update it fix it by itself how come?? now everything works)
We bought our 2013 Escape about 10 months ago, and just did the big update a month ago. We were having pretty much every problem you listed. Now the radio staying on after we turn the vehicle off, and the touch screen not wanting to respond at times, especially the music controls are still happening. We have to keep ejecting and inserting a CD to get control back. Our salesman won us over on what Sync could do, but overall it's been a big disappointment due to all the bugs.

I've been using a phone charger connected to the cig lighter port and I noticed when I turned off the car, the charger is still working. Is there a way to turn off the cig port when I turn off the car thru the Ford Sync? Thank you
My ford touch is 13171 (latest) but it keeps on shutind down every 2 or 3 days for 3 or 4 days, black screen. Then it boots back again... loop. Don't know what to do!
I have a 2016 and when I hit some of the menu options it either repeats another menu option ( Like if I’m on phone menu and I hit quick dial it switches over to quick dial but it continues to show the phone option and if I hit phonebook it shows a phone book but they never hit anything else like history or message or settings it stays on phonebook but if I hit phone the screen switches over to the phone option). So when I hit the configure button were you have all the options to I just stuff like the clock, display, sound, vehicle, setting , help, It does the same thing if I hit settings and I was on clock it doesn’t switch over to settings it stays showing the clock menu so I can’t even get to my settings to configure or reset the system. what do I do?
Hello, Last night, backing out of a parking space, I got the message on our Sync interface screen, Camera not available, Contact Dealer. And none of the screen tabs responded. That's not happening, and I could fill pages of why not. I looked online and saw many videos showing a fix. Yours, as always, was more concise. First I wanted to try the easy route, so I disconnected the negative battery terminal and let it sit for a few minutes. After reconnecting, and starting the engine, the screen showed SYNC performing maintenance. I gave it time to finish loading and then tried reverse. the camera worked and the screen was functional again, allowing access to Nav., music, settings, etc. My question to you , should I use the same process to update to the newer software available, which I've read is 3.10, as shown in your video of June 28,2014? My Ford Touch Problems-New Software Update. Will I have to upgrade Nav separately? I have a 2015 Ford Edge Sport with software 3.08.15128.EA.10 Thank You
Yes. but yo update the Nav you have to get a new card. From Ford direct, they are over $100. Buying from a 3rd party online is sketchy. Some people are getting Blank SD cards, corrupted cards, and cards with viruses on them. Honestly, if you have a phone you can connect to the MFT, just use Google maps, Apple Maps, or something similar. Sound will play through the car. My 2014 still has the A4 card. It's already pretty accurate to my area. But I find that inputting to it, either on screen or by voice control in the car is tedious compared to just saying, "Hey Google. Start Driving directions to..." The phone audio for Google maps plays over the car system no matter what audio source it's set to.

I've tried to do so, but ford website keeps telling me that i have already the latest software updated since along time according to the details, and when I've checked my car current update it says that i still have the old one you mentioned in your video, this might occur with the previous owner of the car and he confirmed the update without actually performing it, so do we have any other way to get the file apart of Ford website ?????
It's sounds like someone updated previously and then reverted back to an older version. Maybe even replaced the unit, but didn't update the unit before installing(yes, it can be done on a desk). Those files can STILL be downloaded from Ford. Even though it says you have no available updates. There SHOULD still be a link directly under where you input your VIN and it says under it that you're up to date, to download the latest file. Then follow the instructions on the Ford site, making SURE you read EVERY WORD and are using the PROPER USB format, downloading TO your Computer then and extracting the files TO THE USB, not dowoading the zip file to the USB and then extracting to the USB. The original zip file cannot be on the jump drive. Confirm, as per the Ford site, that your Jump drive contains the exact files for your Sync Version as they instruct.
I have a 2016 ford escape se with the 8" screen my screen keep shutting off and on . I turned off the auto dimming fixed it for a day then it went back to shutting on and off . The question is that is it a screen issue or update 🤔
Do you think this will fix my ac on 2012 explorer I already had a few mechanics look at my SUV and they say everything works fine that has to with the ac but something is not sending a signal for the ac to blow cold air or it's not sending the signal for the compressor to turn on but the compressor is good.
I have a 2010 Ford Taurus Limited. On the right side of the steering wheel is row of switches. The volume, forward/reverse of radio stations and media buttons work but the last button for the phone does not work. The Ford dealership wanted to charge $700 to fix it. Is the row of switches bad causing the phone not to work or is it something different?

i have the 2016 ford galaxy titanium x the problem i have is the computor voice says emergency assist isnt working also on the dash it will tell you rear seat monitors not working, its been in to the garage they fitted a new modual and it seemed to fix the problem for a while but it did come back,they changed the modual again and that was 4 monthe ago and its started to do it again,it seems to gradually get werse until you get so fed up with that voice,i thought it might be the phone i use so i turned off the blue tooth ,that seemed to stop it but yesterday with the blue tooth off it started doing it again,ive now turned the emegancy assist off , any ideas

I have a 2016 Ford F-150 I’ve done the new update I’ve took it to the dealership and it continues to lag freeze get stuck on reverse camera view ect. I’m under warranty and still am not able to get Ford to fix this problem I guess their dragging on so my warranty is up so I can go away. Since we bought our Scape 2013 we have many problems with the sync and the screen, the radio commands didnt work and we had to stop the engine and estar again. Never fixed by Ford neither the put notes in the computer . The warranty expired now the screen went black, some times work some not. Ford change the module , the manager didnt charge, but still not working . We call yesterday and they say that we will have to change the screen and cost $1300. I read in many forum and is not the screen the problem, Is computer reboot and sync system. Any sugestions?

My 2014 (F-150) the problem I'm having is when I touch my screen nothing happens anything I want to do change the channel anything have to use the knobs or use the steering wheel like if I need to go to navigation or fill out navigation I can't touch the screen and spell it out I have to go to the steering wheel to try to program it for the destination and for the climate I can't use the cooling of the seats or the heat so in other words when I touch the screen nothing response not one thing
I did the software update and the phone syncing issues were resolved- but started to give me issues the following day with the camera, it would cut in and out until it no longer worked😡

I'm having a problem with my 14 Fusion giving a insert new SD card! Sometimes I shut the car off and it'll go away for a little while then other times I'll eject the SD card and put it back in but nothing is a permanent fix. Please help!!
If everything on the screen seems to work and respond and just no sound then the DSP module has failed. Some have a new software for this and some may need to be replaced.

I downloaded the latest version of SYNC from the Ford website for my 2013 Titanium Ford Escape and to my surprise after the install it was version 3.10! Prior to the install I had version 4.30.13171_PRODUCT installed! Now I'm confused because the Ford website doesn't have the 4.30 version for me to download and reinstall. PLEASE let me know if you can tell me if version 3.10 is correct and if version 4.30 was installed previously by mistake. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THESE VIDEOS!

+robert gonzalez I have worked on many of these if it has the latest software according to the dealer a master reset is in order here with a clean pairing of the phones to the system. Also any weird lettering or emoticans in the call contacts can cause the system to lock up. On a few especially this style with the my ford touch I have had to replace quite a few APIMS for this concern after all other checks were exhausted.
+FordTechMakuloco i have a 2013 Ford Edge and it required me to update and after i updated it, i noticed that the navigation card is not "compatible so i went and bought the 6 version and still wont let me use the navigation features. the thing that caught my attention is that the sync voice even changed to an english accent so it has me thinking that maybe i downloaded a wrong version of update. any idea what might be happening?
