I’m also a sophomore at Yale. I took 17 AP classes total in high school (Freshman-1, Sophomore -5, Junior-6, Senior-6) and to be completely honest, I did very little studying. I tried to study for a few of the non STEM APs since I’m a STEM oriented guy, but aside from that I didn’t find myself traditionally studying very often. I think that’s because in my physics, chemistry, and math AP classes, we would do a lot of practice problems, which made me comfortable with the material relatively quickly. Sadly, almost none of those AP classes transferred as credit to Yale. More accurately, none of them transferred to actual credit. I received 5s on Calc AB, BC, Physics C: Mechanics, Physics C: E+M, US History, and English Language, and the rest were 4s and 3s. I did get 2s on AP government and AP Physics 1 (algebra based). The former I had very little motivation to delve deeply into and the latter I took as a sophomore in high school and was easily the hardest class I took that year. Back to what I was saying earlier: I was only able to skip calc 1 and calc 2 because of my scores on the AP calc test and started at calc 3 my first semester here in fall 2017. General chemistry is divided into two tracks, one more advanced than the other. I had the opportunity to choose either track given the classes I took and my performance on the AP test (3) and class, but I ended up taking the less advanced track just to reinforce my understanding of fundamental principles. Chemistry is my favorite subject, which is ironic since I got a 3 on the AP test. AP Chem is notorious for being one of if not the hardest non-language AP test, but my score on the exam was not end all be all. I’m a chemical engineering major if you were curious!

It depends if you pass the DODMERB qualifications. You'll have t o get a physical before you apply and the doctor's will decide.
