4:20 glosing over the Duel masters cards Paul. A throwback, that anime is really good too. Glad they went over it around 8:45, and 16:10 good catches Alec! 23:35
The Sphinx cards were not received by going to the movie. They came in a pack that was sold in stores called the "Exclusive Pack", and always came with the same 8 or so cards. It's where Inferno Tempest, Return from the Different Dimension, and Peten the Dark Clown came from. This was entirely separate from the movie pack, which you received with your ticket for attending the movie. It had one of 4 cards, Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon, Sorcerer of Dark Magic, Pyramid of Light, and Watapon. They both released at the same time, because of the movie, and both had cards from the movie. But you could get the first part without seeing the movie.
@@chappy9245 well laughing can be a natural reaction we don’t have real control over with surprise conversations involving serious topics. I don’t hold it against paul.
@@chappy9245 That is prolly more reacting to casual way other person says it; they might have thought it was very bad joke. As person told, he has autism which might have impact here. Not APS'es best moment for sure but I doupt they were laughing to someone's misery. It was kinda curveball.
@@persuasivebarrier2419, I still see it as messed up. Paul’s friend seemed to genuinely laugh & like the fact he died. Why Paul calls that guy his “friend” is questionable at best. Paul should be more aware of who he hangs out with & calls a “friend.”
You guys are pretty sheltered, haha. This friend's abnormality is normal in certain circles. This is geek culture, guys like him aren't that out there at all. If you think he's horrible you'd be taking up pitchforks if you saw the plenty of worse people.
Theinen and friends didn't require seeing Pyramid of Light, it was in the "Exclusive Pack" which was a complete misnomer. It was an 8 card set sold in packs at retail and it contained all 8 cards in every pack. The opposite of exclusive in every way a trading card can be unless you also just give them away for free. The Movie Pack gave Sorcerer of Dark Magic, the Pyramid of Light, Watapon, and the utterly useless at the time Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon.
This would be the dude at the tourney back in 2005 that would have that exact binder trying to trade you for a mirror force or ring of destruction for that reaper of knightmare
I saw that Salamandra as the title pic and that brought back the memory of the day I started playing yugioh at like 7. Thank you guys for always entertaining!
11:35 - When I first saw Sasuke Samurai I did a double take because I was a fan of Mystical Ninja Goemon from the N64 game. It's also a Konami franchise along with Gradius which I think is the inspiration for Victory Viper. There could be more Konami references in the game now...but I've been out of the YGO game since 5D's and I'm not even familiar with those cards, I played the first DS game and never finished it. I liked the video, it's like looking through my own card collection except it's not the same cards I see every time, lol.
Vic Viper is the name of the ship in Gradius, and they bastardized the name of the first card (which called it Vic Viper) from PSV into being literally Gradius in English. So not only was Sasuke Samurai not the last, it wasn't the first. Nor was it the last to be based on Goemon since several Ninja archetype cards retread that water.
9:03 To be more accurate, the DUB for the Duel Masters anime was a parody. It sadly only got 2 seasons released, so we’ll never know if the dub would keep the parody aspect for a full run or transition to a more serious tone. Fun fact: Duel Masters actually began as a Magic the Gathering manga before it became its own thing. Wizards did try to revive it in the West with “Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters”, but it didn't quite pan out.
Classic Yugioh artwork is what made the cards beautiful. Back then, it felt like you shouldn't have Yugioh cards because they were Satanic. These days it feels like you shouldn't have Yugioh cards because the cops are going to ask about those little girls. 😂😅
The people who constantly bring this up like yourself should definitely be on a watch list. You're literally admitting that YOU see those like 3% of cards as for that use instead of focusing on the ones that aren't. Your hyperfixations out you, they don't speak to the reality of the amount they actually occur in the game.
Would he be down to play some GOAT format with any of you for old time's sake? ...and Paul, I'd like you to blink twice if you've ever stolen cards from a Walmart... 🙂🙂
I can't help but have a mental image of him as a smug bastard that looks down on everybody, lol. I don't know him and I doubt he's that way, it's just the association I have with loud gum chewers. But it was nice going through the classics.
I would’ve thought twice before uploading, maybe cut the footage of the “interesting” stories that or just not uploaded this one. Wish you good luck on the next one though.
kinda a weird video-something feels off. Definitely think some of the unnecessary stories needed to be cut out, and the open-mouth gum chewing is irritating. While it’s always cool to see someone’s old collection, this video could have been managed a little better imo
I actually felt the opposite. The video wasn’t meant to be some sort of attempt at high production or exhaust a lot of effort. It is a tad awkward, but the casual nature of the video is fine imo..
@@cbgg1585 I wasn’t suggesting high production-even casual videos can have some editing in them. I don’t think it takes a lot of effort to edit out some small parts, as I’ve done some video editing before
