I worked the whole time during Quarantine it sucked, two love ones got very sick one almost died. People were acting crazy. The only good thing from it was that small check Uncle Sam gave out 😂

Sorry, the first guy may sound so sweet but to me he sounds suffocating. There are folks out there who are not so good with communication and value alone time but not exactly cheating. We exist. MBTI: INTJ. If I'm travelling solo and out of the country, it takes a while for me to respond or sometimes I would just message 3-5 days in between and that's me being not lazy. When I'm lazy, it could take 7 days to 2 weeks in between and would just message just to let the other person know that I'm still alive. still safe. He sounded so insecure and needed constant validation.

it feels like OP is being put into a double bind, if he said "we HAVE to talk no matter what" before she traveled, he'd be the asshole for being demanding/controling, but bc he was supportive and said "hey don't sweat it, go enjoy your trip" he somehow "gave her permission" to go MIA, hence he's the one to blame. Whereas it sounds like she knows for sure it's over and she's not into it anymore (god knows for how long before the trip) and is really ghosting him and stringing him along so she doesn't have to face the consequences of her decisions...

THIS. And I don't think OP ever noticed the pattern. I had an ex do this, so I just started going to things myself. When I'd be leaving, he would ask where I was going and why I didn't invite him. I just told him I was tired of him starting fights anytime there was an event, so I was going alone. He hated that, but couldn't argue. 😂

While I agree it’s possible he could be delulu or maybe he just doesn’t know how to read people’s reactions that well. He said we talked about names for our future kids which I didn’t find cringy because some people literally get a name or future lifestyle idea in their heads from childhood that they live out as a adult so while it could have been something cringy it also could have been somewhat causal if that makes sense. Or rather she could have seen it as causal and he could have seen it as a sign of something deeper. She did cringe at the fake proposals though which again what is his read on mortified. Is that something she did to joke back with him or was she truly mortified. Perception is so important and it’s hard since everyone’s is often so different. It does seem like she was into him too otherwise why would she be on daily 12 hour FaceTimes. I think some people in relationships can be with each other constantly and they do good with that but for most people each person needs their own hobbies and things for themselves plus hobbies and things they share with their partners. I just have so many questions for both of them. I do understand there’s a lot of reasons why people change their minds and for that she’s not the asshole however I do think she’s a asshole for stringing him along for so long when she def didn’t have to do that. To me that felt like she was using him as a back up plan or something.

​@@Raraking4796 For all we know, she might have been a lot more direct with him and he just refused to see the signs. From a personal experience, when I broke up with my ex he didn't seem to "get" that it was over and still tried to act like we were a couple. He ignored my clearly set boundaries and was even offended that I placed them in the first place. I've pretty much gone NC with him due to this. I personally would like to have the perspective of the girlfriend because OP feels like an unreliable narrator.(Heavy on the "narrator" part due to his flowery language. It makes the story seem almost fake due to the amount) And I bet we are gonna get a new update for July since he can obviously not keep his distance from this girl.

People like OP can be scary. She's lucky she got out when she did. The fact that she felt that she had to LEAVE THE COUNTRY to her away speaks volumes. I truly hope that she decides against seeing him again, I worry that will be reading headlines of an ex-partner ending/ self-exit.
