It's a stereotype in anime alright. A whole different case of Protaganism on its own, never mind doing whatever quest an NPC gives you and helping out those in worse conditions and the sick or needy, much like the stammering and useless "Sakura" types in anime, the main character anime boy talks way too much. Reminds me of Krillin in TFS's DBZA. I mean if I were a protag like that I'd rather be "loved" (Abused) by Susie from Deltarune, at least that'd be hot. I'm all about a hot bad boy or the bad girl character types, but to me being around Gacha is death by Radiation he is that toxic. I had a F buddy that was very toxic to the point of Occultism and brainwashing along with the fact that this guy who was my F buddy turned BF or so I thought, he slowly but surly transformed into a Pathological lair and manipulator, mush like this other "friend" I thought I had. In the end it literally didn't even matter what I thought because it was all a lie anyways, he just used me for sex and so did another friend later down the line I cut ties with them a long time ago. Long and short of it, at least go for the bad girl the bad boys like Gacha are just not worth the "I can fix him" nonsense. Susie, I would hope try to F us, the MC and it be like that one SFM animation by Kazuhira Shark.

I really love the concept from All Might that heroes have become marketable and reduced to entertainment to the point he didn't believed that the ideal of a true hero existed anymore. This is honestly a far more deep explanation for why all might says deku couldn't be a hero in the beginning, for he believed he didn't have the spirit of one or that the ideal no longer had a place in the world. If this abridged series continues, it would make stain's motivations all the more understandable. I can't wait to see more of what comes next!

If you like the idea, check out the superhero anime 'Tiger and Bunny'. That's basically the entire plot of the show. Seven words: Superheroes with brand sponsers on their suits. Just don't bother watching it on Netflix, they scrub out the (legitimately plot-relevant at times) brand deal references in Season 1. ... Hrm... I feel like I typed this in a dream a few weeks ago. I mean it has in today's society and Hollywood. Look at everything that they have released, they have made our franchises into hellscapes and shells of their former fandoms. Taken over by the girl boss crap and sexism and race swaps (to fit fantasies of the hacks that are making whatever new movie into garbage) whilst blaming all that on the audiences. Much like how when the head Dev for Apex legends blamed the fans for the game sucking. Maybe donb't race swap characters and throw ehtnicities in regions where it makes little sense. It's not racism when people of certian ethnic backgrounds congrigate in one place, the Japanese in Japan, the Saxons in Germany and the Americans in the US. You can't have elves living with dwarves and humans. it makes sense for the Wood Elves to live in forestes and Dwarves to live in Mountains and caverns and love mining or crafting, beside the point. Herosim is just another marketable thing much like everything else is, one step closer to that Cyberpunk future of Cultral Homogenization. Hell you can sell parts of your body to companies and in turn they pay ypou to be a walking billboard of tattoo logos for various companies. Sounds like more of what Gacha wants himself but misunderstands, maybe be a Rockstar is more befitting of him. Leave the heroing to the real Protags like Deku so he gets that Haram like ALL anime boys do.

What a brilliant twist on the pilot. Instead of just Deku stepping into a new world, it’s Allmight as well. They’re both taking a step to oppose the sensationalism that’s overtaken heroism. They both changed today, because of Deku.

Decades later when they finally reach stain, it's gonna make more sense cuz in the original All Might was the most popular so it didn't make sense why All Might was singled out as a hero while the others were fakes since the fake ones also risked their lives while selling merch. Here both All Might doesn't have the popularity and Deku's really hated while still trying to do good so it would make sense why Stain would classify them as "true heroes"

Definitely an interesting plot for a different audience. The original plot is about hope and ideals in a blossoming world. Built to play for like 1000 episodes that can explore all facets of a world where superpowers are real. Designed primarily to inspire children and entertain people instead of making them think. This abridged version is a struggle against a decadent society, so spoiled it takes it's protectors for granted and views them as sensationalist entertainment. Both center on hope for a better future, but the abridged version takes a cyberpunk, almost ruthless approach, just a few people against the massive uncaring machine that is the super hero industry. Great storytelling, but the appeal isn't as broad.

I wanna see if Abridged-Kayaba’s original plan was to make a 40K VRMMO but Bethesda trashed it in favor of what SAO became, and he might’ve left some coding for a few of the weapons hidden in the source code, and since AHO was made from SAO’s source coding, instead of Excalibur, Kirito could spawn a Chainsword to shove up Sugou’s ass

Actually he's at best equally as suicidal as he is in the original. Not the dub of course, that Deku is way less suicidal. This Deku is just more vocally obvious about his issues. No subtlety.

I have to agree that Deku devolving into his arrogant SAO persona as he developes his quirk would make for solid entertainment. We know that the whole story is about him becoming the world's strongest hero, so eventually he will be lording his stats over the other mere mortals. He is the chosen one as was fortold in the scrolls.
