Great stuff mate. We were lucky enough to share some time with Darren and his beautiful family in Krabi a few months ago . What Darren didn't show you was the magnificent kast / mountain right next to his home . He is a genuinely lovely man and was so happy to show us around Krabi and Ao nang. We had a ball mate and can't wait to come back and visit Aorn , Anando and your good self again .

Nice home darren, I might have watched this before. The simplicity of dwelling, yet it covers all the needs. A place out back to cook, do wash, a car port, good natural* surroundings, and again the breakfast, lunch, dinner places to eat. With the exchange rate it is appealing. It depends on what the pay rate is in Thailand. It certainly is good that you moved and met a good family through your wife. ☮️ Peace bro. Thankyou for sharing.😄

On the back of your hotel review one we have booked a a couple of weeks at the Ao Nang Cliff beach resort later in the year. what would be really helpful is a video on Thai Phrases for the English speaking tourist. Basic stuff like: Hello, thankyou, goodbye, very spicy, not very spicy etc etc... Any chance of you doing one ? Cheers
I'm sure you'll enjoy the Ao Nang Cliff Resort. The staff and rooms are great and it's in a really good location. Their buffet dinner is also delicious! Unfortunately my Thai pronunciation is not perfect, so I'm not going to be teaching others imperfect Thai, as there is a good chance you will not be understood. Very early on I worked out that the Thai words I learned from foreigners were often not understood by Thais when I used them. Hence, now I only recommend learning Thai from native speakers. There are lots of great Thai teachers with RU-vid channels. 2 of my favourites are Thai with Mod: ru-vid.com and Kru Wee Teach Thai: ru-vid.com. I hope that helps.

Thanks JP! Yes, the rent is pretty good, it's cheaper because it is a little out of the way, but we like it. I'm not so big on city life any more. Our nearest city is in Phuket and around 2.5 hours away. You take care too!
Great video...I just absolutely cannot live like this..I like my first world built house, nice ac units, full walk in showers, lots and lots of kitchen, back yard....To each their own :)

Yes, that's the road. Saithai would have changed quite a lot in that time, even in the 4 years that we've lived here there has been a lot of building and development.
Darren, that is a beautiful home! can't believe the monthly rent. well, as you know best it's your little family that makes it beautiful. I guess food is so relatively inexpensive there that it's just more convenient to dine out or do the street food routine like you've showed us! I just don't have the intestinal fortitude to try all the stuff you eat!
Lol, yes, I will eat most things :). And yes, the affordability and convenience of dining out does make it attractive here. It is a nice house, it certainly suits our needs at the moment. Thanks for watching and commenting Stephen.

Great video!. Passed that spot several times on the way to Ao Nang beach. Thought it looked familiar but was obvious when you showed the Go Kart place. Noticed Ao Nang town getting progressively overtaken by McD's, Subway and the Indian restaurants which is disappointing.
Thanks Kevin, glad you enjoyed it. Yes, a new McDonalds opened in Ao Nang at Xmas time and it usually appears to be busy. It seems lots of people come to Thailand to eat McDonalds. The Subway has been there for quite a few years and I haven't noticed any new Indian restaurants opening, but there are quite a few of them.

A broom only $2 amazing. Do they build houses out of bamboo like the Philippines ? I guess with rent so cheap that may not be an option. The Palm oil trees look amazing as does the rubber plantation. Really such a pretty place. All the best to you and the family thanks for the upload.
Some people do live in bamboo houses, but it's generally people with very limited budgets. Often the bamboo houses are used for guests it seems, most houses are made of brick. Yes, it is a very beautiful area where we live. All the best to you and your family too Greg!
bamboo houses in the philippines are usually found in rural or provincial areas not in urban and highly urbanized areas as bamboo materials are plentiful in rural and mountain areas. You can also see bamboo houses in beach resorts for guests to stay and cabanas too.
Luvin the vids....but cant forget "Sai thai" 555.... shredded a belt on our scooter and we were stranded outside the furniture shop across road from Jeer-Or Bakery/food Souvenir shop...was thinking it was going to be a long walk back to Nong Thale...smashed a M-150 preparing energy levels to walk back then!!...Thai people are awesome stop asking what's wrong with scooter or if need of helping hand.....a quick chat & laugh turns out everyone knows each other and a quick phone call ,before we knew I'm in back of ute going back to Klong Muang beach to get sorted...Krabi the best

An earlier Ao Nang video covered a street food stall on the corner of Soi 9 Ao Nang. We have a couple of bungalows down that road. Welcome back Chris. Yes, it is a fairly relaxing area where we live. And yes, I do fish when I get around to it. It's been a couple of years since I've been fishing, but hopefully will get around to doing a fishing video in the not-too-distant future.
