AFTER over 25 years as husband and wife, this couple have renewed their vows as two wives after Lacey transitioned from male to female. Both coming from conservative backgrounds, Lacey, 50, and Cindy, 55, met 28 years ago when Lacey was living as a man and serving in the military. Lacey has been struggling with her gender identity for years, but Cindy had no idea until Lacey actually came out in 2018.

I mean, it truly is like that for most. I wanted to die before I came out, I was so much more depressed. It sucks, but it doesn't help when people are hateful, especially the people that you'd expect to love you know matter what. I'm just glad that she is happy and has her lovely wife who supports her and loves her.

I can't believe some of Lacey's family members actually thought it would be better that she was dead. Assuming that her extended family is also Christian, that is not what a true Christian would say. And no one should be saying that to someone who is doing no harm and just living their life. On the contrary, I'm glad that Cindy accepted Lacey for who she really is and that they renewed their vows. Such an amazing couple!

I think he’s being selfish. Of course he has a right to change his life and live it as he likes but the problem is, this is not only his life right now cause he has a family. His son didn’t have a chance to choose his dad but he had a chance not to be a dad. Son looks disappointed and I can’t even imagine how his poor wife felt.

I'm seeing a fair amount of "think of the children" - type comments. This was a decision an adult made. Gender dysphoria is not a learned discomfort nor transitioning a learned / 'trendy' behavior. I look forward to a future with empathetic, open-minded kids who understand that some people don't feel home in their sex assigned at birth. No, she didn't fall in love for who you truly are dude, she accepted your mental state and you as a person. Again, it's basic science, your self-perception, based on your subjective mental state- and it's especially subjective when you claim to feel like a women when you have had 0 experience as one. It's illogical. Understandably, this is an emotional decision and not a logical one. It would have been best to seek council rather than find random answers on the internet. Again, so much is overlooked here but society will accept you due to political pressure.

I always love when ppl cite science/biology as a reason that being trans is somehow wrong or not real when actual science/biology is telling us the opposite. Research has been point to brain structure and function as a reason (or part of the reason) for the existence of trans ppl - brain scans of trans ppl more closely resemble the brains of the gender they identify and function as such, or sometimes are somewhere in the middle. So it seems that there is indeed a biological reason why a person's brain might feel one gender while their genitals look like a different one. But keep popping off with your ignorance I guess lmao.

The way the world works, is if one thing exists, the opposite does as well. So if a person can be born with the correct brain and body combo, there’s no reason for us to believe that the opposite brain couldn’t end up in the wrong gendered body. It’s just not that big of a deal. We’re not talking about people pressuring and abusing kids into a different gender, this is a grown adult, who has had the time to grow and mature, and STILL she felt that way. Live and let live. Your kids will be fine as long as you have a healthy relationship with them.

It’s still the same person even if the visible shell changes from masculine to feminine or the other way around to show the individual that matches who the person truly is, instead of the shell society expects because of how humans categorize everything. The person someone fell for is still the same with personality and all even if someone drops their old outer shell and lets their inner self come to surface. If I was married and my husband suddenly came out as transgender and changing appearance from masculine to feminine, she would still be the person I fell for and the coming out and change of appearance wouldn’t change that, I’d just want my partner to be happy and be their true self. Love is love, and I’m really happy for this couple!
