You are the reason I now adore and wear chunky sneakers (dad shoes), I honestly have changed my style a lot since I started watching you. If I had the funds I'd probably grab most of your sneakers, platforms, and the Italian leather ones. Also the pineapple converse, I legitimately screamed when you found them in Japan. I am hoping you both keep and sell those blue Asos heels you haven't been able to style 😅 they look fantastic on you but I adore them too. The problems of a Shoeaholic 🤣

Unpopular opinion but if you already own something from dolls kill but no longer support them it’s fine to keep the item if you really love it. You’ve already spent the money and they bring you joy.

Wasnt she going to sell it tho, like she is an influencer so if anybody sees her wearing that they may ask where its from and wants to buy it themself. She dosent want to represent the brand and because of that dicides to remove those pieces and somebody else that really wants those can now get them whitout having to buy them from that brand.

It was so satisfying watching the pile at the back get smaller as you went through them all! Absolutely love videos like this, it's like a haul but with no extra consumption, and we get to hear how shoes from years ago have lasted!

I have worked at a “shoemaker”, skomaker in Norwegian (probably it’s called a shoe fixer in English😄) Take the beige shoes (11:04) to a shoemaker/fixer shop and they can take the edge of the sole of easily! Sams right; When you put on new pair soles on shoes you use a cutter and than a grinding machine to make the new soles look like they where a part of the shoe originally. It’s an easy fix in that kind of business👠 Loved the video🌸

That's really cool! Also, in English it's technically called a "shoe cobbler" although I'm not sure if many people call them that anymore. I've heard of shoe menders though, which is the same thing

A proper cobbler is so hard to find these days, most people here tend to take shoes to a "Mr Minit" kiosk, there's heaps of them around coz they take something like 12 weeks to teach you everything from key cutting to engraving to shoe repairs and it's out the door and into a kiosk in the middle of a shopping centre somewhere in the 'burbs... There was a time when just about every town had a cobbler, but unfortunately, cobbling is one of those dying trades and not many young ones want to spend 3 to 4 years in an apprenticeship...we went from about half a dozen or 8 in our region down to 1...and he works from home on a strictly call-me-first basis... but he does great work... ;)

Surprisingly affordable too! It's only about $20 to completely re-sole a pair of shoes at my local place, totally worth it to get another few years with my favorite shoes.

when you mentioned never wearing the Chanel sneakers out of the house, it reminded me of this anecdote I read YEARS ago. A woman had terminal cancer and she spent her last weeks writing about her life. She had bought this sparkly rose-shaped candle years earlier, and always wanted to light it, but no day ever seemed special enough, and she didn't want to ruin it, so she just kept this candle for years and years and it gathered dust. She said her one regret in life was never lighting the damn candle. this story has stayed in my mind forever, and frequently inspires me to just WEAR the pretty things, use the nice cutlery, write to-do lists on fancy stationery.

I totally agree about good shoes under wedding dress. I was a bridesmaid for my big brother's wedding and when I came home to dress after hairdresser no-one could find my shoes, so I wore my new-ish red doc martens and I was soo comfy and a photo of mine and mine groomsmen's shoes ended on a style magazine cover!

I wore converse to my own wedding, lol. So did my husband and our two sons :) I wanted to wear white docs but couldn’t resist the cute little matching family moment. I also wore a black dress cause I almost exclusively wear black as it is, so it felt right, my husband wore a white suit :)

Alex you should 100% check out the brand irregular choice! They have all kinds of cute and creative shoes, many of which have unique heel shapes! (teddy bears, santa clauses, magical girl-esque wands, etc)!

As a womens size 11 (42 UK size), I don’t have that many shoe options as most places only sell up to a size 10 in stores, and rarely above that at all. Watching this video helped me live vicariously through you having a large shoe collection of all kinds 🥰

I'm a US womens 11/11.5/12 and finding nice looking shoes at that size is painful but I'm lucky enough to love vans and combat boots so I can often just buy men's. If my style of shoes wasn't available in men's shoes, I'd be lost lol

The spinal column heels are loosely inspired by the shoes from the Dsquared F/W 2010 runway :) they might be a difficult one to source, but if you can embrace the spirit of the old internet, there are some great designer swop and sell forums/message boards that might have a good deal on them

As a lover of shoes who has always lamented the difficulty of finding shoes that were the right size and loved my feet I enjoyed seeing this collection immensely. I really love the idea of you doing vintage fashion and shoes! I got into buying historical shoes (when I could afford them) and found they're really lovely. I have three pairs of vintage styles from the brand American Duchess and one pair of shoes from their Royal Vintage line. They may be rather pricy but I couldn't recommend them more if you are interested in getting authentically styled vintage shoes :)

I love how while watching this you can pinpoint the year in which she may have bought her shoes (chunky ones recently, oxfords somewhere between 2014-2015, those velvety ones with ribbons instead of laces 2016-2017..), it's like a tiny fashion history without intention.

As someone who almost exclusively wears "barefoot" shoes, it's neat to see what's out there, and there were a few that looked like something I'd actually wear. I'm trying to get a few more things that are my style, but I don't know what my style is since I've been wearing those shoes with separate toes for so many years... This gave me some neat ideas for things I'd like to try, or even buy from you if anything is still up.

I only guessed about half right when it came to keeping shoes or not. I was very disappointed in myself. Also, towards the end of the video you showed off several pairs of sneakers and they brought me back to my highschool days (20+ years ago). I had a pair just like your solid pink pair (between the pumas and the filas). It's fun to know that style is coming back around.

Alex have you heard of toe spacers(straighteners?)? They're really good for unbending your toes from wearing shoes that bend them. I've only heard about them recently and am going to get some the next time I go to the store. If you haven't heard of them you could get a pair as well. 😊

I LOVE the clothing and shoes brand Sugar Thrillz that only Dolls Kill stock. Dolls Kill have addressed previous issues, as have Shein, and most importantly have made positive changes in the right direction which is awesome 🙂

I will never understand why people think getting rid of something they already spent money on hurts the brand. Boycotting, sure, if you want. But getting rid of something you already own (and like) because of a brand issue? Come on. They don’t even have a logo on them.

Perhaps every time they look at that item they are reminded of the brand it came from, and therefore don’t have a desire to wear/use the item, even if they like it objectively?

Yes but because she has a following if she posts in those shoes it’s in a sense showing her support for that brand. If anyone wants those shoes because they saw her in it she’s generating more money and more of a following for a brand whose values she doesn’t agree with. So owning the shoe doesn’t actually change anything but wearing them out ever would (hence there’s no point in owning them if you can’t wear them)

I’d get rid of them too. I know it wouldn’t hurt the company at all but Id feel very uncomfortable being a walking advertisement for an unethical brand, especially if they were flashy enough for people to ask where they came from.

As a tall girl with my 178 cm (5'10), I always feel sooo self-conscious in high heels even though I love the look of them. Seeing Alex, who I assume from videos is also tall (but I don't know for sure), wearing these beautiful shoes gives me hope that one day maybe I will be able to feel myself comfortable in high heels as well.

I'm the same height as you and I wear heels. When I was younger it made me a bit self conscious but now it just feels powerful. You really have a presence and that should make you more confident if anything. Don't let the shorter guys with outspoken insecurities get to you. Just step over them 😆

@@kudzu_ Thank you for the kind words!💕 When I was 18 years old my ex-boyfriend was the same height as me and it bothered him when I was higher. Probably that's the reason why I am still hesitant with heels, but one day I will have enough courage!
