I LOVE Break Free. I started using it because it was at hand. Later I tried the others, Frog Lube, Blue Lube, Nano Oil, Tuf Glide and the only one that even comes close is KPL. Now its a toss up which I'll use, but if its a tight spot, I'll go with the KPL because of the applicator. Once its gone, I may just put CLP in the bottle and stick with it. Nice to know someone else uses the CLP.

Thanks for doing this one. It's videos like this, that really help the knife community, along their journey! The patina on that Copper Manix, is already showing up! That didn't take long. : - ) On many a knife persons journey. People will find out even more about tools, and what works best, as they go along. As a couple of examples of that. Buying *IP* Torx bits, is a good idea. Like an IP8, or IP10. To got along with a set of *T* bits. Like T8, or T10. Every stubborn screw, should be checked for 'bit slop', before using too much pressure to remove it. When disassembling a knife. The IP sizes, serve as middle sizes. Like being a 8.5 size, for example. It's also best, to use a small driver handle, like those often found with 4mm driven sets, or your little Hinderer tool. When assembling knives. Far too often, if using a bigger handle, like we normally find with 1/4" drive bits sets. People have a tendency to over tighten, strip heads, bits, or threads. The bigger handled drivers, have just so much leverage. Big handle=disassembly, Small handle=assembly. Loctite, is another area of concern. Using Blue Loctite, is always dancing on the edge of trouble/disaster. It's specification (Blue), calls for it to be used on up-to, 3/4" bolts. It's best to use Purple 222 Loctite, on screws of this size. It's good for up to 1/4" size screws, and is more than enough strength.

Interesting. I might have to give the purple stuff a try!

Yes, @@metal_complex. And considering that your bottle is older now, like you mentioned. It's time to get a new one anyway. The shelf-life is only 12 months, after a bottle has been opened. : - )

Steve Kluver Thank You for that tidbit of information on the thread locker. something new I wasn’t sure about, I received my first loctite from amazon and honestly it was so watery and I found it didn’t work well, I then researched and ended up buying a canadian brand MG Chemicals blue and it works like a charm. thanks again on the 12 month shelf life info

You are welcome, @@computerwarez. For the record too. The shelf life is 24 months, on un-opened containers. And, it's always a good idea, to shake it up well, before opening to use. Every time.

I love that hinderer tool, I have tools for mostly everything, my grandfather was an mechanical engineer our garage was a machine shop I learned so much by watching, this is why I love watching various reviews videos on everything I don’t judge on people’s tools or how they do most things. everyone has different means available and use what they can, I have quality brand tools and some cheaper alternatives too. just curious your wiha 10 piece did you recently purchase it? the older ones say made in germany on the front bottom, I picked up 2 of the pen style wiha with 6 bits T3 T4 T5 T6 T7 T8 with handle carry screw top there decent for the price but I find something odd about the sizes they seem to be all off by 2T example my allen torx or dewalt torx T10 are correct according to the standards chart in mm but the wiha both versions I have match the T8, I actually asked others on amazon about this and they tried to say they are correct but I stated I used callipers to measure all of them and the wiha dimensions are off again according to the Torx standards measurements. if you have a chance can you verify the mm for you wiha. thanks as always for your time and awesome reviews videos. oh I also just received my hogue today if you read my response last night mentioning ordering it. ex01 gmascus black tanto it’s just so smooth opening and drop shut out of the box and it comes with a case a sticker a leaflet about use ect. thanks to you once again for helping me out with brands. I really really want a begg knife was checking out their site. omg i’m in love with some of them. $4000 canadian. on my wish list for now ;) ok babbling again Have A Great Day Thank You as always :D just seen the last couple minutes of the video, you must hold your manix2 in your right hand quite a bit for it to patina like that the oils/acid from your hand I seen a reviewer customize his copper handles and I actually did research on copper and patinas. learned a lot from jewelry maker videos. if you would like some ideas on that kinds of stuff let me know.

Liked seeing what you use. Have you ever tried the scout leather wabi-sabi driver? The Wiha bits are great. Have you ever used EDCi and KPL and the new heavy KPL for detent? I know Zelrick42 is currently working on getting a driver to market. The other thing I have been looking at is the Wera knife makers and maintenance set. It was put together by the guy at Sheepdog Knives? I don't own a Hinderer yet but I am interested in getting one and the scales that Zelrick42 has on it to match the Warthog SAK. I can't think off hand what version of the XM18 it is. If the tools work for you great.

You should really look into Bondhus T handle allen and trox set. The shaft would twist like a torque bar before you over tighten fastener. They are made in the USA and carries a Lifetime warranty. I pick Bondhus over my Snap-On T handles any day.

What are the dimensions of the bit selector case. The best I found was 4" High × 2" Deep × ? on Amazon.

How do you sharpen ? I would consider that knife maintenance

Nothing fancy. I have a few stones. I also like to use rods. Usually, my knives only need a few passes on a strop.

my take away is you really love Hinderer knives, cause $75 tool just for these knives, wow. I am new to the knife world nice tip on over torqueing, I have a few knives some nice like the manix 2 a few less expensive, trying to keep them up and servicing these is a form a playing with them. Nice little hobbies, trying to NOT let it take control of me, I control my hobbies, not other way around like Nick and the dude who does the vid for knives center, who need a chest of draws to put all their knives (pocket jewelry).........?! I guess to each his own, for me I have to try and be reasonable. Nice vid.

1) just stick a bit through the pivot hole and use the female end to push it out and through. Keeps everything aligned and in place. 2) go to fishing store and buy reel oil. Comes with needle applicator. Lifetime supply costs $5 and its the same shit as "nano oil"
