Hi Jimmy and Ichang...I am Dzul. If you are still in Kelantan on Raya day..Eid dul Fitri, I would like to invite both of you to my mother-in-law home in Kg. Laut, a traditional Malay village by the Kelantan river. Mainly I invite you to have a taste of my mother in law's fabulous cooking...her speciality for Raya, that is Kuzi Ayam (a type of chicken stew made from chicken, spices and caramelized onions which forms the thick gravy) and also Bistik Ayam (a type of stew also but tomato based...sweet and sour). Then I will also take you to visit the oldest Mosque in South East Asia...Masjid Kg Laut which was built in the traditional Malay style without using a single nail! Do reply as soon as possible if you are interested. We will look forward to meeting you..😊

I had to admit, the roadside/small house sellers sometimes will give you the best quality home food ever. I accidentally found one a decade ago in Kelantan, it tasted sooo goood.

I've been to all the states in Malaysia but no other state can beat Kelantan in terms of the diversity of kuih-muih that they have. So many types and some of them you can only find in Kelantan!

The kuih was so colourful in Kelantan. What a place by the riverside with beautiful sunset and the birds all ready to go home back to their nest.

Hi there again Jimmy & I Chang, Kelantan food is awesome and maybe unique, only in Kelantan and if found elsewhere it would not taste the same. Perhaps you have noticed that Kelantanese dishes are quite sweet. Also, Jimmy’s reaction to the taste of air nira / tuak is because the tuak tastes different (a tint of brownish colour, a bit of sourness & different smell - like soil smell) perhaps because the process of fermentation has taken place for quite sometime. Some seller refrigerate or freeze the air nira to prolong its goodness (fine taste). Also, the air nira collector would surely have added laru (Lah roo) which is basically the cengal wood chips to help preserve the air nira and slow down fermentation. Cengal wood (Neobalanocarpus heimii) ia a tropical hardword, is chipped and dried and later a few pieces are added to freshly collected air nira as to help mantain its freshness. P.S. I envy both of you, never gain weight.... またね

watching this is making me miss my kampung in Kelantan so much. I'm going back in a few days for raya and I can't wait to go to the bazaar and buy all the traditional kuih that I can't find anywhere in KL. The buah tanjung, tahi itik, jala mas... All are Kelantanese delicacies.

FYI... There are 2 types of air nira... 1 from the coconut tree and another one from the palm tree (we call it pokok enau or kabung). The nira from coconut tree if u boiled until concentrated u can turn it into gula melaka/ gula kelapa and the nira from the palm tree if u boil it for a long time, it will turn out to be gula enau or gula kabung. Im glad that u enjoy air nira so much. Its my all time favourite drink too.

Ichang is eating the original nasi kayo, my favourite. Kelantan ayam perchik is the best. Tumpat riverside used to be a very busy harbor during the British era. Love going there everytime i visited my grandparent.

That white ayam percik sauce looks very authentically kelantanese... In KL, most are reddish in colour... That akok with pulut like seri muka is probably available only over there... Same as that ayam susu too... I think the air tuak was different coz it was from a(few) coconut tree(s)... In yr earlier video, it was taken from a nipah tree...

This is why fasting in islam is good for human body.. You can rest your stomach for 30 days..to eat less one month per year is better for secret good health. God knows what is the best for his creation. And with puasa you learn to know how to appreciate your self and other poor peoples hunger feelings. So you feel gratefully to Allah for what that you had from Him.

I really miss to visit kelantan again. Last time it was in 2011 i guess. We had food travel kinda trip eating murtabak king like very big, we also visited home-based serunding business, keropok lekor factory, we tried maggi belut (eel noodles) so much fun

Air Tuak in Kelantan is different from other states because it's not alcoholic. The Kelantan Air Tuak is actually called Air Nira in other states.

one word you guys should know in Pantai Timur.... Pantai Timur is 3 state area which is Terengganu, Kelantan & Pahang..... the word is beres a.k.a begheh or bereh.... mean done, settle and everything ok....

Try "tapai pulut" & "tapai ubi" which can be found during "hari raya" celebration. This food is fermented 1-2 days before it is ready to eat.

Go to Kuching, Sarawak next time. Many nice food too. Hehe
