The fact that you take the time and effort to thank & answer each comment is so wholesome! I could not eat the same meals the whole week but these are definitely good inspo for recipes, thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind comment! It’s so important to me to build community and I am so grateful for the support I’ve received on RU-vid. 🤗 Im glad you’re taking away some recipe inspiration and I completely understand that eating the same meals isn’t for everyone 😆
Thanks so much for the comment! This resonates with me deeply! In my last apartment I had a "half-size" fridge/freezer and I got so good at playing freezer tetris 😂 Hoping you have a bigger freezer soon 💕
Thank you! The beginning is always the hardest! Once you get into the rhythm it feels like less of a burden. I always recommend starting small and building from there! :)
Thank you so much for your kind comment and question! 🥰The sauce was so delicious, and I need to have a better practice of writing down what I make. I don’t follow recipes, I only follow my heart 😆 For the sauce, I started with onions and garlic then I sautéed ground turkey, then added fresh tomatoes, diced, canned tomatoes, tomato paste, water. And I simmered it for a few hours! Then frozen veggies and some ricotta cheese. Next time I make it, I promise I’ll add a recipe 😂💗

Hoe many days do they lst on your fridge? Isn't it wrong to have rice on the fridge for so many days? Doesn't your oatmeal taste weird after day three?
Hi! Thanks so much for your comment and questions! 🤗I like to keep my refrigerator cooler and have it set between 34-36* F, and I don't recommend storing meal prep for more than 4 days at that temp. After day 4, freezing is a great option for prepared food. It gives it a longer life and mitigates the risk of spoiling/bacteria. Safe food storage to protect against bacteria has several components ~the temperature food is stored at and the water content of the food itself. The USA FDA recommendation is below 40* F. Adding a link here for food storage tips, too! www.fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/are-you-storing-food-safely I think the oatmeal tastes completely fine after day 3. It's always a bit mushy and it tastes great that way, IMO!
What is the optimal temperature in the refrigerator for storing prepared vegetables? Doesn't food spoil in 3-4 days if you store cooked vegetables with rice or pasta?
Hello and welcome to my channel! 🥰 Thank you so much for your comment and question! Safe food storage to protect against bacteria has so much to do with the temperature food is stored at and the water content of the food itself. The USA FDA recommendation is below 40* F. Hi! Thank you so much for your comment and question! I put my containers directly into the fridge or freezer! These ones are wonderful and can go into the refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher and oven!! 😆
This is a great question! The temperature you store the meals at affects the quality of the food. I keep my meals in a very cold fridge (36*F) so that helps. If you are worried about food safety, you can store the later meals in the freezer. Hope that helps!
@@ruffaeliza Hi Ruffa Eliza! Thanks for your comment! Yes, we reheat them in the microwave but we have also used our stove to reheat, too. These glass containers can withstand the oven/microwave/freezer 👍

Hi. Are these actual food you guys eat for a week? How do you keep these to ensure they're still good after a few days? Really wanna know as I will start doing this when work starts
Hi there! Thanks for your comment and questions! Yes, these are meals my husband and I eat for a week! We keep them in a cold refrigerator and also utilize our freezer for storage, too! I’m happy to answer any questions you may have once you’ll start work, like you mentioned 😊
Thank you so much for your comment and question! 🤗 I usually prep 5 days at a time. I store days 1-3 in the fridge (I keep my fridge set to 34-36° F) and days 4-5 in the freezer (I keep my freezer at -2°F). Safe food storage to mitigate bacterial growth is multifaceted ~ the length of time the food sits out to cool after cooking, the storage temperature of the food and the water content of the food itself. Freezing prepared food gives it a longer life and mitigates the risk of spoiling/bacteria. The USDA had a giant chart on their website and the general recommendation is below 40° F for refrigerated foods. This looks so nice and yummy but can you make like 2 different meals for a week. I mean i don't like eating the same food for 7 days so it would be cool to eat 4 days different food and 3 something else .
Hi! Thanks for the comment and question! You can absolutely make different meals but do it like this. You call the shots 😜 I don’t mind eating like this because mostly I don’t want to try and think of another thing to eat, cook and clean up 😂 but you do you!

Hi, thanks so much for the comment and questions! This is for myself and my husband (we're both very active New Yorkers) for a week! And the divided containers are harder to wash than the non-divided ones, but absolutely worth it, imo!
Thanks for your question and the comment! 🤗 Yes! I change it up week to week so it doesn’t feel boring or monotonous. The convenience of having something healthy and nutritious ready is more important to me than variety on a day to day basis.
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment and question - this is a good one! I've not used a thermos, I always reheat it, and it softens again. When you eat it out of the thermos is it still warm? 😊
I’m pretty bad about being late. Luckily my boss doesn’t really care as long as it’s not over 30 mins and if it is to let him know I’m running late in that case. I’m so glad cause other departments here are real sticklers about it. I still try to be on time just so if management ever changes they don’t see so many late-ins but it’s tough for me.

Hi! I have a question, I want to start meal prep because of college, I'm very worried since the fridge I have doesn't keep the food as cold as possible, if I keep it on a freezer, can I microwave and is ready to eat? Or do I need to stove it again
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment and welcome to my channel! I'm so excited you are interested in meal prepping during college! If you use your freezer, you can count on your meals staying fresh and you can definitely use the microwave to reheat (just takes a little longer)! Maybe they cook 6 different types of meals for the week and freeze some extras?! For me, I don’t mind the same day to day because I’m changing it up drastically week to week, (so I wouldn’t make anything with similar flavors for a few weeks after this). That helps a lot for me! 🥰

Hi Victoria! Thanks for the comment. I believe what you are describing is related to the improper storage of cooked rice- bacillus cereus or "fried rice syndrome". The possibility of this bacteria is not only present in cooked rice, but also uncooked rice and it's severity depends on the storage conditions once cooked (and this applies to many starches, not just rice)! I have a Master's Degree in Public Health Nutrition so I understand your concern, and I also don't believe in fear mongering. From author Leong et. al., "The outcome of B. cereus illness varies dramatically depending on the pathogenic strain encounter and the host's immune system. B. cereus causes a self-limiting, diarrheal illness caused by heat-resistant enterotoxin proteins, and an emetic illness caused by the deadly toxin named cereulide. Hey in many Asians African and Carribbean culture we do eat rice that has been cooked 24h ago. There are recipes dedicated to that. If it's stored properly it's fine :)
Haha thanks for the comment! I live in nyc and previously had a “half fridge” and these all fit inside the fridge and freezer. I had to adjust the shelves so it fit the containers so I made it work. I’m very fortunate to have a full size fridge in my current kitchen. 🥰
Depending on your refrigeration setup, these last all week (7days). I keep my refrigerator at 36* F so they are a bit colder. You could also put half of them into the freezer and heat them up as you go through the week 👍
@@arpita0608 it’s safe to eat if it’s kept at a cold, cold temperature or if you can use a freezer, that would be very good-safe! (I have a Masters degree in Public Health Nutrition so I’m in-the-know of food safety protocols)

Hi Samira, thanks for sharing your opinion. The temperature at which the rice is stored will determine the amount of “mold”. If it’s stored at a cold temperature, it’s ok.
