I've been wanting to make a Minion cake like forever and I am so glad that recently I was asked to make this Minion cake for a little boy's birthday. I took the opportunity to video the process and to share it with anyone who may find it helpful, educational, interesting or entertaining....or all of the above! Happy New Year 2016!!

Beautiful flawless cake. What was in the bottle that looked like nail polish? How long did that cake take you to make?

Thanks! The liquid in the bottle is a small pinch of tylose powder mixed with hot water. It's makes an edible glue for fondant and gum paste.

Hi Linda, thank you for subscribing. This video is almost 3 years and I am not sure if I still have the template. I will try to look for it. If not, there's a sketch with measurements that you can see in the beginning of the video. That may help you with an idea of how wide and tall this cake is. Hope this helps :-)

Awesome! Why not just use a dome shape cake? Bake in a oven safe bowl:) still amazing job

The reason I didn't use a dome shaped cake for the head was because the person who a ordered it only wanted a cake to feed 30 ppl and the 2nd reason is the goggles was quite heavy and the foam offered more support as the cake had to be transported in a car for a fair distance. :-)

Hi Laura it's almost a year ago since I've made it but if memory serves me right, the larger cutter is 7cm in diameter and the smaller one is 5cm. Thanks for watching! Cheers!

This cake looks good, but it would've looked better if you hadn't cut out a piece where you put the goggles

Thanks but are we watching the same video? No cake was cut out to fit the goggles. The goggles are sitting on top of the cake. The dome shape head is not a cake but a piece of styrofoam. The goggles are quite heavy and they need to be attached securely. Would not hv worked if the dome head was a real cake 🙂
