OMG! I loved this as a kid!

I just bought a beautiful illustrated copy of it. I'll read it to my son, as soon as he's old enough. Maybe I get him into reading with it and if not, I at least have a pleasant read myself.

I read this when I was 7 or something and I completely forgot it. This has brought back so many memories. It's like Pratchett on steroids.

I loved the Käpt'n Blaubär cassetes as a kid and always saw the book on our bookshelf at home and when I would ask my mom about it, she always said, that the book is nothing like the cassetes, I knew and I'd probably not like it. Oh boy was she wrong. It's probably my most read and listened to book ever. Read it 4 times and listened to the audiobook (read by Dirk Bach) like at least 10 times. I really love Walter Moers as a writer. His worlds are so colourful, it's amazing. City of dreaming books is also a master class in german writing. He's probably the best german fantasy author within the last decade in my mind. I really hope, Daniel will give it a read (though I have no idea how good it translates into English. As a German I have of course only read the German version)

Hero academia is good, its just a shounen so , it can get dark but its still , its fun and decent. And really good writing. Especially when he builds up the darker stuff while being tengaging and fun, in the superhero class stuff till its darker and . He has a good balance. But its not blame dark.

@@deadsoon Yeah, not the best look, Oda probably isn't very knowledgeable about or much intrested in Africa, judging that all inspiration for One Piece locations so far were either European, Asian or Amerindian, but he could have probably done better than just say Africa. Fans debate about what part of Africa Oda meant since Ussop is fairly pale for a African, popular guesses are North African and South African for obviously reasons.

@@gracjanlekston134 Oda is very knowledgeable in Africa as an African i can tell you that Oda has a lot of inspiration from African Countries. He literally based a whole arc on Egypt and has many characters based on famous Moroccan and South African people Guess you aren't knowledgeable in Africa to know this. And Ussop is based on middle African countries not North African
