In 2017 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) but my symptoms started in 2006. In this video I give an update on my life with MS. I share my MS story and how I am living with MS to hopefully help others who live with MS or chronic illness to better manage their symptoms with a combination of diet, exercise, sleep and mindfulness/kindness. My MS diagnosis story is a long one as it took about 11 years and many doctors to get here. My name is Vickie Hadge and I am living well with MS. Even so, it is well!

If MRI is stable why do I feel like the MS IS progressing?
@EvenSoItIsWell

@@marieb9081 MRIs don’t always show an accurate representation of how our MS is doing we can have PIRA, progression independent of relapse activity, or what is known as smoldering MS. Check out my recent video on this topic: How MS can Progress Independent of Relapse Activity ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mLg5i89YRiA.html

Journaling daily of what you did, how you felt, what you ate, how you slept, people you encountered and what transpired etc The more detailed the better understanding of what works, what doesn’t , and where improvements can be made. Intermittent fasting by using an OMAD (one meal a day) diet gives the body a chance to heal during the rest from digest time and the gut microbiome to find it’s homeostasis. The best advocate for you is you When you can read it, the answers become more evident Every day go outside in sun, get exercise, learn how and practice vagus breathing, have a healthy circadian rhythm and good sleep will follow, hydrate, and smile. Eat what serves your body and have those around you who serve your heart and soul. Befriend MS and you become whole, happy, and fulfilled

I find that once in a while if I can't sleep I will have to have at least one night a week with some assistance i.e. melatonin and or Benadryl. I know not the best but 3 nights in a row with no sleep and you gotta do something.

Thanks for watching. I have to agree with you. There have been a few nights where I reach for the Benadryl. 😴

Great glasses Vickie:) Good video! Living parallel lives here:) I ordered the large thermapparal vest too! I ordered a large (usually a large & size guide) and needed a medium instead! They were very nice about exchanging. Yay, for me! It helped a lot in Florida a month back. Planning on taking it to Virginia Beach too next month. That will be the real test?!! Have you seen Dr Boster's short video re: MRI's and explanation? Wow, makes me want to dive in & go back over mine (I have copies). Sleep is on then off. My husband is so sweet to let me sleep in everyday. I try my best to get 7-8 good hours, but I can get off schedule easy by not practicing good sleep hygiene. Traveling a bit also can knock the schedule off sometimes. I really try to stay in tune with what my body needs. I love yoga , but need to do more cardio to get some weight off. Staying positive helps us, right! I also love gardening, cycling & knitting & painting & piano. Oh & did I mention I love to golf!!! I know, I try and keep active. As for the future, who really knows? Hoping & praying we both caught it early enough. Hope your summer is great.

Wow we are living parallel lives! I have seen Dr. Boster’s MRI video. I love looking at mine. I am right there with you on wanting to loose some weight. I definitely added some over the pandemic. It is starting melt away. I am definitely getting outside more now that the weather is warm and of course Bunji is keeping me more active. 😉

You look amazing Vickie x I found my 2nd yr diagnosis anniversary end of April this year a little tough. It reminded me of how I felt at the time of diagnosis and struggled to be motivated and feel okay. I’m getting there. I’m doing well overall but sometimes it feels a bit overwhelming! I always find your videos inspirational and reassuring so thank you . Im always quoting your “exquisite kindness”😊 hugs x

Hi Jane! I completely understand. At two years you are still relatively early in your diagnosis. Be gentle with yourself. I am so glad that exquisite kindness resonates with you!

I live in the uk and im near to getting a diagnosis, but this is frustrated by the fact that its so difficult getting a GP appointment and hospital waiting lists. I have had various symptoms over a few years. Finally got an MRI which shows lesions. GP suspects MS so has sent me for a lumber puncture.........so its watch this space for me😢

Thanks for watching. The waiting is the worst isn’t it? I hope you find answers soon. In the mean time it is never to early to make changes to take exquisite care of yourself.

I can relate. I'm in Canada where we apparently have great health care and my last MRI requisition was submitted Dec 2021 and I don't even have a date yet. Very very frustrating. The pandemic seems to have caused our system to collapse. One big downside of being in Canada like you in the UK with free health care is that we have no options you take what you get. Second opinion? what's that.....

@@justinkredible9628 Hi, yes the pandemic has really messed everything up. My surgery operate a first come first served system where you have to line up at 8am. If you work you are scuppered because you could book time off and still not be seen. I've had a collection of MS related symptoms. It was a GP who has MS who finally referred me for more tests. Pure luck
