Hello Friends! Welcome to The Shabby Creek Cottage. Today we’re going over simple mixed media techniques but before we get into that you can find the
FREE School of FUN Art here: createwithchal...
I give FREE weekly live classes for mixed media 101 and we would love for you to join us for a free mixed media art lesson. All lessons are mixed media for beginners friendly!
Since sharing that I’m a mixed media artist, I’ve had nothing but kind words and support. And the thing I get asked about the most is “What art supplies do I have to have to get started?” or the more general question of what to buy. So to answer art supply questions- Today is all about art supply. A few weeks backed I talk about mixed media supplies you already had or could easily get so this week I wanted to go over my favorite supplies for mixed media craft/art. These supplies are my preferred mixed media products and I think they are great mixed media supplies for beginners as well.
These are all art supplies you can find at any art supplies store. They are all easy to use for your mixed media journal as well and are honestly some of my favorite art supplies to use for journaling.
Favorite Art Supplies listed:
Tim Holtz, golden acrylics, liquitex (acrylic supplies in general), finnabar, books, washi tape, chalk couture, pallet knives and gesso. (Those are in no particular order)
I hope you enjoyed this video and if you have any questions please ask in the comments I try to answer all your questions. Also leave a comment and let me know what kinda of content you want to see. Would you like see just art journal supplies, or an art supplies haul? Or would you prefer an art supplies review? Let me know in the comments!

I've never thought of using the chalk couture stencils. I have a friend that's a consultant so, I will definitely be shopping soon. Thanks

Fun Art...not Fine Art....I love it! Texture is great I use the texture pastes and glass bead gels often. I agree about the higher quality paints being better, Golden is my favorite, but I also use Matisse and Charvin. Thank you for the video! You use many products I have never heard of.

I love using Satin medium for everything!! Do you find the matte medium dulls the color at all?

Hi Stephanie, I don’t really think of them dulling so much as matte-ifying them
