@@tzctlpc yeah but it’s a normal look compared to everything else he always wears. Hell, on Saturday night live I think, they were dressed as penguins. I don’t think it was Halloween either.
DansBLACKFLAG some dude came up to me in my Jeep a few months ago and said how cool it was to see my Black Flag sticker on the back bumper. I actually saw like a 10 year old kid wearing a T-shirt a few years ago. Crazy.
I saw an interview a few years back where he said that he more or less did the audition as a favor for Kirk. Apparently James and Lars thought he was a giant weirdo and a bad fit so they politely told him it wasn't going to work out. He said that the comment they made in the Behind the Music episode about him being "too good" for Metallica was a very nice thing for them to say, but complete bullshit.
@@nothingislogical That's just Les being modest. Metallica were right. He is too good for them. That's not to say Metallica are bad musicians. They obviously aren't. But Les is just a monster bass player capable of playing just about anything.
It's hilarious to go through and watch all of their live performances. They look completely different every single time, but Claypool's majestic stomp is always there.
Primus is one of the greats. But I thought they invented their own style of music too until I heard this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pr70ttkMoHE.html And this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PHedekI5w4w.html
I see the similarities, but I still think Primus has a unique style that stands on it's own. The bass is the only thing that sounds similar to me, but even then it's much less percussive.
Always thought they sounded psychotic but in a right way. Like frenzy whatchamacallit. Singer reminds me of Headcheese (the hitchhiker) from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Great sound tho.
Well if this literally aired on "Halloween 93?" I was 16 years old with my 2 friends terrorizing Eastern Jackson County in Kansas City. Drinking, smashing pumpkins and mailboxes with an aluminum baseball bat. Good people, good times
A rare mess up by Tim haha awesome.playted it one to many at end Claypool caught it in time though and muted the harmonic strum nice reflexes there if have totally hit that and missed the recovery.
I remember I was 13 when Pork Soda came out, I had almost no interest in modern music at the time, until one day a friend of mine randomly put this record on. As soon as I heard that first bass line, I was hooked for life. Still my favorite band, with a sound that I've still never heard anywhere else.
@Phil McCrevice hey Phil you like having roads and police departments right?? Fire departments and municipalities??? All socialized. Kennedy is a so called libertarian working for the largest misinformation organization on the planet.
Well les messed up, he forgot his harmonic. You can see him stop playing and Tim kept going because that harmonic is the last note. So he plays it in the next bar
Yup, believe it or not, MTV used to feature awesome bands. Primus, Alice in Chains, and so many more. Even had Pantera on once or twice. VH1 was pretty awesome, too.
