Finger detangling has created a strong bond and tender love for me towards my hair. I will never stop doing finger detangling. Your hair is beautiful and has grown so much
Oh I love that. I never thought about how it facilitates love towards our hair. So true. And thank you 🙂I'm so behind on my length checks, I definitely need to do one for October.
I love that! And wow I'm four years too. Well, four years since growing my hair from shaved. It was natural for a good few years before that but I barely had to deal with it because it was so short. Really appreciate you watching and commenting 😀
Hey girl!! 👋 So I’ve been finger detangling for 6 months and I don’t think I’m ever going back to using a comb, unless specifically for a trim. And I’m only doing that once a year, at least that’s the plan. 😅 Is your hair acting a certain way to make you think you still have shed hair caught in your strands?
Heyyy 👋🏾 Thank you for commenting. Wow I love that dedication. That is honestly a really good question. I find that my roots get a little bit more tangled, only a little. But it could all be in my head lol, because I'm so used to using a wide tooth comb or detangling brush. I'm gonna see how I get on. When is your next trim due then?
Oh ok. I’ll be watching! ☺️ My next trim is due in December. Last trim in Dec 2023, I took off about 1/2 inch to an inch in certain parts. I basically kept my hair in cornrows and chunky plaits last year. It’ll be interesting to see how much I trim this year after being in small to medium plaits all year. But If I run into any knots when reapplying moisture every week now, I’ll snip those off.
@@A_Wilson Ok, that's brilliant. It's such a fun journey, especially when we're being so intentional with our hair. Ah yes, I do similar thing too, cutting off knots as and when I notice them.
Sis, great vid. I'm loving the bigger sections you have now. How many plaits do you have in? As you know I've been twisting for almost 10 years! But I think the extra time that it takes to install and take down twists, has been my down fall. I end up leaving it half done and my hair dries and tangles, I then get annoyed and end up not being as patient as I should be. The bigger plaits may work for me (but in honesty, I think the smaller twists look better). P.s. I did hear the vocals 😂.
Yes sistren! I had 12 plaits altogether. I definitely agree smaller twists look way better than big plaits. Funnily enough, since realising that my plaits were helping me to retain more length, I thought I'd make the full transition to plaits only. But in the end I still changed the plaits over to smaller twists just for the look. I guess it's worth a try seeing if plaits work better for your hair and your routine. However I dunno if you're high porosity, but I heard high porosity people find it difficult having plaits - I'm not sure why that is though 🤔
The high/low porosity business still confuses me! I know you explained it to me before but I still can't get. I did the glass test, didn't I? And my strand stayed on the top so that means I'm...low porosity?
@@lab9998 yeah, that's it. If it floats, it's low porosity. Also you can kinda just tell from knowing how long your hair takes to dry. For example my front edges and my ends dry really quickly so they're higher in porosity but the main bulk of my hair takes a while to dry - maybe one to two days air drying.
Heya! I'm mainly low porosity. However my hair right at the front, my nape hairs and my ends are high porosity. Hope that helps. Which porosity are you?
Thanks very much for answering...mine is low porosity too... was looking for who has same hair porosity as me so I can grow mine as well ...by the way your hair is beautiful
