I'm totally convinced. I bought a set of these a few months ago based on this review alone and I can say after testing them all this time, that they are absolutely amazing. VERY well made, simple to install (though it does take a few minutes) and adjust and they track perfectly. I removed the old triggers just two hours after setting these up. There was no doubt in my mind about how good these were going to be moving forward.
I also use the laserpick and we have to tell the lightguy of the venue to not put bright lights on the drums. Last gig the strobe light made the laserpic dropout everytime the strobe was activated.. It is such a shame becase the laserpic system with integrated module and just 1 xlr out is brilliant.
I bought them played few shows and I must say after many tweaking them with footboard and with settings on my roland tm 2 they still double trigger what is not the problem with footblaters according to drummers using them, so I think unfortenatly I will change them
@@sega.milkis Even if they do break can you change out the actually sensor, which you can't on FB, so either you get a spare sensor for like 30€ or else buy a new pairs of FB, which sucks haha.. Quality overall with the gen 3 OT are amazing! But if you mean the actuall input is it probably the same quality on the jack version, but OT offers a XLR input cables and those are sturdy from my own experience.
@@KholmDrums holy shit, I literally spent yesterday watching your videos, Adam!!! You are one tight terminator, man! Your power, technique, setup, arrangements, expressive attitude is so fooking amazing! U crazy))) As for the triggers... I own footblasters for half of year already and until now I've no problems so far... But if anything happens, I would consider the On-Triggers, cause Thomann is convenient. Haha, cheers 🤘🤘🤘
Wanja! My T-Shirt is holding up well. :-) I see you are implementing your new technique. Thanks for telling us about triggers and which may be best. You are an awesome drummer and person. Didn't you just record a CD? How do I buy that? (In US).
Loving these myself. You didn't mention the TM2 settings. I know it can change person to person. Was wondering what your findings were. My sensitivity setting went WAY down.
I use the Roland SPD-SX and have been enjoying them straight of the box with that module. Did you end up on any particular settings for the TM2? I'll likely drop the sensitivity some day.
I hope someday that the companies invent some trigger that don't need modules for triggering, just connect via smartphone, put your presets on it and connect to audio outline, would be a dream!!!
My advice... use both triggers. Or rather, have both set up and ready to use. If one system fails, you have an immediate back up. (Versus keeping the old ones sitting in a box back home.)
I often play gigs where there are 3 bands playing and drummers share the same drums. This trigger is mounted on the pedal which is great, but there must be some minor adjustment when you change to a different kick drum, where maybe the angle is different or something like that. How easy is to adapt, do you need a lot of time for adjustment? Because between bands there is maybe 15 to 20 min time for setup..
When the beater is pressed against the drumhead, the pedal should slightly press down the trigger. If this is not the case I adjust the trigger by bending the arm it is mounted on up or down. Usually takes only a couple of seconds to check and readjust. Module settings stay the same.
Hey Wanja, what do you use for samples or sample library? This is something i'd really like to know about as I love messing around with (in DAW) samples, etc.
Hello Wanja! I really enjoyed all your videos and your playing as well! Really your channel is very informative and i always check your videos. I just ordered the on triggers with a Tm-2 module after watching your videos. I would like to ask you a question. Do you have any problems on slow single and double bass patters if your rest the beaters on the drum like i do? Are they so sensitive like acoustic triggers which double trigger from the skin vibrations?
I don't rest my beaters against the kickdrum for exactly this reason :D But I think you can setup the tm-2 in a way that you can get away with it. You can also try experimenting with the point at which the triggers are hit by the pedal.
Hello there. I got the same triggers but I get double trigger caused from the drive shaft vibrations. Do you had similar issues? I will appreciate any help. Thanks
Drive shaft vibrations? Never had issues with something like that, but I also don't really understand :D Anyway - to avoid double triggers make sure the trigger is not too close to the pedals and to have the threshold setting on your module high enough.
I own these triggers and my problem is that I bury the beaters when not playing the second bass pedal. And when I hit with the main pedal, I get double triggering. Do you guys encounter the same issue? I see Wanjia doesn’t bury the beaters.
Hmmm, maybe because the buried beater bounces during the hits of your main pedal / beater. I would rise the trigger settings thres at least for the slave pedal. I chose the cheap version of these triggers. I grabbed two piezo guitar pickups for $9 (piezo on a mono socket), two metal brackets and a bit of foam packaging material + double sided and foam tape. Basically because I wanted to trigger the two bass drum notes from my sexy, sweet SD3 sound libs! Until now I used the ATV 13" kick pad, which is still there to kick into. These system works surprisingly well. Really, its way more sensitive than the ATV pad, and so I got more re- and double triggers because of the bury beaters thing :-). I put a picture in my Community section.
Wanja, thank you for this video! 👍 Could you answer for two questions I try to word, please? ;) How do you use your triggers during live shows: the signal from the only triggers or mix signals between sound from triggers and acoustic sound of the kick from the microphone? And about the backlash on the shaft of your Demon Drive: has it begun to appear or is it still backlash-free? (Thank you, google translator!)
Bass drum sound depends on what band I play with and also on time for soundcheck etc. For super brutal stuff, trigger only, for everything else I like a mixed sound but only if there is enough time for soundcheck and if the sound guy is good. Drive shaft still free of any lag.
After all this months, did you have any issue with this triggers? I'm using the foot blaster, but I already broke one due to poor quality of the product and I'm searching for something better. Cheers.
Hi, you can get it here: wanjanechtangroeger.myspreadshop.de/300+bpm+blast+beat-A5d82d10bb264a16d3e3bbe4c?productType=6&sellable=lzdzrGAR4wHQ0AAMNV5e-6-7&appearance=2
So far I prefer Ontriggers, because they are available on different platforms (thomann e.g.), cheaper and come with spare sensor pads. From what I have read, customer support may be a bit better as well.
Yo, Nechtan.... I would love to see you do a cover for Gojira, The art of Dying. I know it would be nothing to you, however, I would still love to see it.
Kranke Fuß-doublestrokes Kommt schon sehr nah an Donati und Lang ran! Ich würd mir die China holen, welche in dem Video ist, allerdings bin ich mir unsicher wie sehr dieses Video den Klang verfälscht
Hey Wanja, would you a drumcover of Atonement by Thy Art is Murder? I don't know if you like them but I ask you because I think you can kill it. Thank you anyway for your videos. Keep it up!
Ok when anyone asks you for make them listen some cool music stuff u play blast beats lol....At least use Bass drum as a Bass drum triggered bass drum takes out all of the bass and sound like metronome click kinda..... Listen to some of Lamb of God records ull get to know how a bass drum sound actually.......
