Hey guys - so just been let know unfortunately the Samsung T7 SSD doesn't actually work with all BMPCC configurations, so definitely check before you buy the drive or try to track down the Samsung T5 SSD which are still available occasionally!

Pretty much using the same handheld setup on the sets I am booked to shoot handheld on. I would suggest adding a v-mount plate with additional d-tap ports and getting a dummy battery with d-tap cable. Even less weight with better balance and one less battery to check.

Thanks for this video. I just started shooting my RU-vid videos with the BMPCC4K that I'm currently temporarly testing. I'm very impressed by this camera. It's quite heavy for a travel and bag oriented channel like mine, but the IQ definitely makes up for it.

actually really loved this setup, the problem with heavier set up is that you can only use them with easyrig or shoulder rig and the problem with that is you cannot do tracking shot with easy rig and you cannot change camera angles with shoulder rig, also focus pulling could be easier with this, it's the middle way for me. Did you weigh this entire setup?

Hi! Great Rig!!! Do you power direct whit the dtap cable the vmount battery to the bmpcc4k? There is no need to connect the cable to a vmount plate ? And when you use the vmount battery, the internal battery stays in or you take out?

Hi Tom, hope you can answer my question. I recently bought a Shinobi monitor same as yours. It's normal that the screen gets to hot at touch after 20 - 30 minutes ? Everything seems to work properly I only tried with the AC power adaptor that comes with the monitor.

Hi Tom, I just bought the parts you said, but I'm stuck with the cheese plate and railblock, do you have any video that shows exactly how do you mount those two? It seems that there is five holes in the railblock, and that you are screwing the holes 2 and 4 to the cheese plate. I tried to do that but those holes are too big and the screws in those holes don't work (they don't tighten the railblock to the cheese plate). Now with holes 1,3,5 which are smaller, it would work (i.e. tighten the cheese plate to the railblock) , but then the symmetry is broken and then one of the handles on the sides of the railblock is not usable anymore (because the railblock is not centered in the middle of the cheeseplate). Sorry for the long post, but help would be appreciated.

Yo man! For me the 4K actually fits my workflow better because I shoot in ProRes not in RAW. But if you want to shoot RAW and have a powerful computer you’ll be all set with the 6K 👌🏻

I have 2 6k's and ive noticed shooting in direct sun light has produced really nice images. I see it in your footage as well. I thought I was doing something wrong. im wondering if its the ND filter thats causing that blurred washed out image?

Nice setup. Do they make the updated cage in a halfcage? Does having the battery mounted underneath the camera hinder your focusing? Have you had any issues with the ssd not being recognized by the camera at times?

Ah sorry understood - I try to mount it behind ideally, underneath is a good setup for things like travelling but don’t think I’d want it full time.

Hey Tom, I'm going to be receiving my 4K soon. I have a Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L II and I'm a bit skeptical on the Viltrox but the Metabones is just too pricey. In terms of image quality, is the Viltrox something I can work with professionally without a great deal loss of image sharpness?

Sakhiwo Mthunzi Yeah man it really is. I think it’s a bit overblown personally - the image looks amazing above F1.8, just don’t go below that IMO. I have a question back at you! How are you getting on with the 16-35? I’ve been thinking about changing my Sigma for that lens

@@ItsTomRich thanks man. I'll definitely pick one up. I was so uncertain and when you mount the support on it is the play or wiggle mitigated? The 16-35mm is absolutely amazing. I have a 24-70mm f2 8 and I hardly pick it up for for anything (even stills). I find that I can shoot everything with just the 16-35mm which I've only paired it with a full frame body. Though in my opinion, if you have the sigma and no full frame cameras, there's really no need for it.

Sakhiwo Mthunzi The season id be changing is that I have the EOS R and can’t really use the Sigma for stills on that camera, so it makes sense to switch. Yeah there is a tiny bit of wiggle with the lens on the Viltrox. But I’ve never found it that annoying. Thanks for the chat 🤙🏻🤙🏻

mrmarisco Easy man, get slightly longer rails and use the extra length at the front to mount a FF system. Most just simply slide onto standard rails. Thanks for watching!

You could, but there won’t be a ton of space with the rails I’ve used, I’d recommend getting 12 inch rails

The new Smallrig cage for the BMPPC4K looks ugly. Looks more like a piece of hiking gear with the logos and frame colour than a professional cage for a camera. Smallrig needs to stay a way from making their gear look more cliquey like Tilta.
