Very interested in your review on the Monk Box Set - I was very tempted but the only thing I dont like is the lack of Jackets for each record. However, did you get the Craft Brilliant Corners One step - would be anxious to hear what it sounds like vs. the Box Set version. Great pickups!
Great points, your opinion makes a lot of sense if you do not plan to purchase all 7 records, but if you are..... purchasing the box set, the price per record is approximately $35.71 per album. When Analogue Productions releases new 33.3 RPM records the price is about $40.00 per record. You bring up a great a great point about the album covers but for me personally that is not a major factor because after all, I'm playing the records, not the album covers....that being said, I appreciate your opinion and thank you very much for watching my video 😊 ✌️
I just picked-up Nancy Sinatra's double album "Start Walking" . The cover made me want you buy it, had a childhood crush on Nancy. Was not a Nancy fan, until now. "WOW" what an album! Now I have to buy all of Nancy's records!
That's a nice haul. Just tonight the Acoustic Sounds channel showed a couple of Tommy Guerrero releases I wanted and I ended up ordering eight albums. I had received six albums from them a couple weeks ago and twelve from Music Direct this week. I definitely have a problem, lol.
Nice one Kenny… I unfortunately own 2 out of those 7 Monk’s albums already so waiting at the moment for their individual release as announced few days ago, so keen to pick up the missing 5 as separate, discrete albums.
@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews Agree. In my case I am running out of space and need to watch expenses these days carefully. I also like LPs in their original sleeves/jackets...I dunno, something about that tactile feel for me personally :)
@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews I have about the same and as I get older I start wondering about some sort of legacy plans for my collection have you ever thought about that in terms of your collection. Just curious if you might he able to offer some advice
Barbers Companion as XRCD/KH2 is one of my most favorite albums, highly audiophile record. A used one is offered at eBay for 599 Euros. Extremely rare. May be that this CD isounds nearly good as the LP by Impex. If you have a good CD-Transporter. Mine is the McIntosh Transport MCT 80 plus 2 Reclockers in Wordclock-connection.
The Monk box set hurts at $250, but it's only $35 a disc. I've just spent money on UHQR's and a few other things, it just won't work for the next couple months for me. But, yeah, that's something I'd like to get.
Hey Kenny. I ordered that Monk set, and should receive it soon. I've had the 15 CD Riverside box for years, and it's a goldmine. The Riverside stuff is absolutely peak Monk, and this vinyl set is fantastic, especially at the price. I think there will only be 700 pressed.
I went in and listened to the Patricia Barber album & the Jazz at the barbershop album. I don't think they're bad. They come off as mood type albums. On the jazz at the barbershop album, the songs remind me of music that's being played while movie credits are being shown before or after the movie. On the Patricia Barber album, the songs are very mood driven in the realms of themes music made for dark smoke filled jazz nightclubs. Overall, I would say they're worth a listen.👍
I clicked in when I recognized the box from acoustic sounds, because they have good product and I wanted to see what he got. I don't have the room to mess around with stuff that wasn't a first choice to be released , even though some of that often second string stuff can be good. I always appreciate this guy, obviously such an exceptional person that the housewives friend and superhero savior , Mr. Clean, was patterned after him. I really respect the guys judgment and knowledge . Applying his insight has enriched my collection a coupe of times.
Hi Kenny; here Miguel from Portugal also a Vinyl Enthusiast; just a personal question; how much do you spend in a month in your vinyl purchases? Hi regards.
