Why does everbody seem to think that you would need a big SUV as a daily? Sam doesn't have kids and lives in London, why wouldn't you want something smaller instead of bigger?

Love your reactions to all your favorites, lol. I wish i could go for something more luxury and fast but I went more off road and long term reliability with my new purchase of SUV this year and got a 4Runner. Probably a little too big for UK.

Great video Sam. You may want to rethink the khaki interior as although it looks lovely, it does attract the dirt. I drove a 110 last summer when they first came out and the drivers seat had got really grubby on that demo after a very short space of time. Also, used car prices are at an all time high and especially defenders since the new bond film came out. The list price on a v8 110 starts at £103k so they are commanding a huge premium due to the shortage of new cars. Not a great time to buy unfortunately. All the best with the searching!

Fun STG roadvlog and many tasty offerings indoor and outdoor at the dealership with so much choice. As the BMW 'replacement', how about a Jaguar F-Pace. EU6/ULEZ compliant and talking about tasty :-) For Winter tinkering on the channel ofcourse or as a new hobby (hi Vicky!) a "rattle battle" old Defender. Thank you very much Sam, good show!

Given the monthlies you're paying on the X3 I don't see the value in stepping into any of those cars shown! Higher monthlies, running and servicing costs for basically yet another generic modern 4x4! Stick with what you have, save the money and put it into something more interesting down the line

Great advice! Save the money for the GT3 Touring. Better investment. The GT3 will hold its value better than any SUV.

While i agree for the average person. Sam is a youtuber. At the moment the x3 generates no content, so doesnt earn him money. Something like a a defender or an alfa would get views and people would watch videos on that

@@robbiehutchin679 that’s a fine point and not one I had considered. I would say that the 360 and f type really are for content generation though. He’s looking for an affordable interesting daily and I agree if he could find a car that would generate views that would definitely be an asset to his business. I would say blowing 100,000 on a land rover may not be a great business decision though. He already tried that sort of thing with the Maclaren and all that did was bring stress

Screw a SUV. Just go for an estate car or a hybrid Volvo XC something if you can't do without a SUV since its primary use will be for daily transportation, errands & whatnot. IMO the only legitimate SUV to have at some point is a Range Rover.

Stuff the SUV, get yourself a proper quick estate! Better for your pocket and the environment! You live in London, you do NOT require an SUV! Love the channel, would really like it if you bought something different (not an RS6 or other German Autobahn rocket)!

The trackhawk is an absolute blast to drive. A buddy of mine has one with a smaller upper pulley, full exhaust and intake and a tune. Such an easy 900hp and it’s rowdy af off the line.

Have you considered testing a Volvo XC60/40? For a daily they must tick the box. I guess they aren't very RU-vidy, but could be a contender.

6:30 they aren't flatbed pickup trucks, there are pickup trucks, which have a bed surrounded by walls like an f150 or the likes, and then a flatbed is basically a commercial vehicle with a completely flat bed with no fencing or railing around it(like what you'd get a car towed on)

Take a look at the Cupra Formentor as well Sam. I drove one at Silverstone and was pleasantly surprised how capable it was. It reminded me of a budget Urus.

SUV are Land Cruiser, Nissan Patrol, Defender-- etc they go off road and crawl rocks too. The BMW and Merc and Audi are CUV- Cute Utility Vehicle.

GLC63s has a tremendously stiff suspension setup even in Comfort settings. Great to thrash around but get ready for a back massage after a long drive out

My favorite AMG SUV is actually the GLB 35. It's much easier to live with than the others and doesn't have the bone jarring suspensions. I can't count how many times I've started loading luggage in my GLB 35 when I meant to use my GLS or my wife's GLE... I really like that car!

See the AMG 35’s and 43’s, they don’t quite have the same street creds as compared to the 63’s. While I find the “inferior” options desirable for my own taste, Sam has been vehement with his disdain for these low-range AMG’s

@@theandrenalinn I used to feel the same. Nothing but the 63S's but last year, I drove a few of the 'fake' AMG's and I ended up really liking them! I live in Kenya. Having a softer suspension is crucial on our roads. About 3 years ago, I had an E63s wagon which had been my dream car. It felt like sitting on a luxurious brick.

@@theandrenalinn I agree the GLC63s has a very stiff and uncomfortable ride. Why would anyone want a SUV that is uncomfortable, no utility space or not capable of being driven on any roads that are not perfectly paved? You want a fast car..get a car (sedan, coupe or sport car). A SUV needs to be comfortable, capable in any road or weather condition and still can be fun to drive.

Sam, is a Porsche Panamera a consideration? You get the storage space of an suv with the sportiness and performance of a Porsche. The only drawback is that the Panamera is longer than some SUVs and I do not know if that is a real problem within London. You did like the AM Rapide.

Mercedes C43 AMG Premium Plus Estate. I’ve owned one for the last 2 years and have no idea what I can replace it with… 4 wheel drive, near on 400bhp, one of the best sounding V6’s you can buy, all the interior practicality of a mid size suv but with the driving dynamics of a saloon car. That being said if you want more why not buy an E63 S?

When I get a chance to make it to one of your live Behind the Glass Events .. I’ll bring my original restomod 110 defender V8 along and you might reconsider going for a new one.. save money and lose much less.. if anything…
