hp tuners has emissions compliant tunning with shift on the fly using the factory steering wheel controls. no switch to mess with. and a pedal commandar. is 100% the best just the pedal commandar make the truck beat a tesla on the “mexico highways” in a race 2020 gmc denail
Just watched a video of a Banks Darringer on an epa compliant Duramax walking away from a deleted and tuned Duramax. Banks constantly stays in contact with GM designers and designs quality fail safe add ons. Been in the game for a long time and he understands how to achieve power through compression not just more boost.
First and foremost Thank you for everything you do on this channel and for your military service. I look forward to your videos and was eagerly awaiting your downpipe and uppipe install video on the L5P truck as no one else has done it!! I drive a 2018 GMC denali L5P and run many banks products. I have the monster intake, pedal monster, derringer w/ idash, banks monster 5" exhaust and banks charge pipes. I installed each product one at a time so I could compare to what it felt like against the factory stuff. Up first was the intake and the low end throttle response with extra engine grunt noises and the truck just seems to breathe a lot better. Next up was the derringers tuner and the amount of technology they packed into this unit is unbelievable. I love being able to monitor my current DPF% and knowing exactly when the truck is going to regen, how long it is in regen and when the regen is completed among the what seems like 100 other variables banks has built in. The pedal monster integration with the idash allows on the fly calibration and I have to say it really helped remove that dead pedal. The exhaust made a huge difference in mid range and up power and really pushes you into the seat. The Derringer tuner utilizes all the real time monitoring of the factory sensors and if exceeding set parameters will pull power out and will also use factory fail safes to protect engine and trans components. I also love the way banks products will revert to stock throttle/programing if the tuner loses power (for any unforeseeable reason) is great knowing it will not leave me dead while driving. I believe all of the other aftermarket piggy back units do not do this. I have recorded 21.9 mpgs on the highway and 19.5 around town. Towing drops the mpgs down to about 15mpgs but I am usually towing over 10k when that happens. The big reason I went with Banks is that he builds the L5P engines for the military and has shown all the various dyno testing he has done not only with his derringer but also all the competors and let me tell you, his tuner is the real deal. He tested against the pulsar (and other tuners) and none of them live up to their "claimed power increase numbers". Most of them exceeds safe EGT's and cause the ecu to pull power alot. And I am sure you know the grueling standards they needs to be held too between the weight they are carrying and abuse these vehicles take. He has packed every bit of that tuning knowledge into this system while keeping emissions system happy and to me, I knows that my truck will last a long time with his products. I have yet to run my truck on a dyno, but I can tell you I have logged 37.5psi of boost and according to what other Banks user have reported, these trucks with these mods make roughly 550hp and 1000ft lbs of tq at the wheels and I can tell you the truck feels like a rocket ship!
I did all the Banks stuff. Intake, 5” exhaust, turbo tubes, and tuner and it flies. Wants to pull the tires loose flooring it at 70mph and it has a 6” lift.
I don't have the turbo tubes yet. But I have all the other stuff. Plus the pedal monster! Talk about a game changer! I also have a 6 inch lift on my 17
do the new banks air tubes help enough to be worth the price? i have derringer and pedal monster box with banks cold air box and it runs good. doing the 5" exhaust soon and thinking of doing on the turbo pipes next if worth the expense?
EFIlive on l5p?? from who no one can tune l5p with efilive for one but with set ups like this you have to have custom tuning from PPEI or the emissions system is going to be a nightmare down the road.. 1000% if this truck doesnt get custom tuning with mods listed you will ruin the emissions system...
Installed Banks derringer, pedal monster, and intake on 2023 LP5. Totally different truck but I agree a tune would should bring out some more performance!
There are a ton of factors that go into that, from what i have seen trucks that are worked tend to last longer and have less emission issues for sure but lowering the egts can be a good thing for the truck. Having good custom tuning with a company that knows what they are doing and can cater to the truck is a must.
It would be interesting for you to run through future testing as miles increase (every 10 or 20k) to see if the performance decreases as the soot builds up in the engine.
The soot doesn’t build up in the engine… it builds up in the DPF,a d Doc until the computer detects it needs to regenerate, since DEF was added in 2011 the amount of EGR used was reduced dramatically, reducing the egr coolers size required and percentage of egr needed. The oil and intake don’t load up nearly as much as they used top before the SCR systems were used.
Just bought a 2018 Chevy Silverado LTZ 2500HD with only 38,000 miles and I was wandering if you knew if the HSP parts voids factory warranty? Wanting to keep that warranty for a few more thousand miles. Lol
She's coming along. I'd be willing to be that emissions will go bad and we'll be seeing a 5 inch exhaust soon enough. I'm hoping to have my max flow kit installed on my LBZ duramax soon. Who would you recommend that I go to for custom tuning?
Banks has other videos comparing the dyno results and data logs for other tuners as well, hes trusted by the military to get our guys and gals out of harms way with his engine builds. If it performs in the mountains of Afghanistan in heavy armored vehicles it ought to work on a street truck.
I'm a 22yr Veteran my opinion is With as much power Brandon has given the EPA I wouldn't be surprised if they made up an excuse just to go look, it's a fucked up world when there are bigger fish to fry but they spend our money to attack us, small people. We spend our money to buy our trucks but the government dictates what we can do, this is why I don't get why so many smurfs want socialism in America. Well, I do know, it's because the government is already providing housing, food, and money along with participation trophies, etc..... why not control everything else, the list goes on.
My 2018 is bone stock. Ordered the v3 pulsar a few days ago. Really excited to see what it can do. Those HSP components are really sweet!!! I’m gonna check em out for sure. Thanks brother!!!! God Bless America and the 2A….Love the red, white, and blue as usual!
@@TruckMaster I’ll probably be installing it next week (going to dallas for the holiday) but I’ll let you know what I think once I spend a few hrs behind the wheel in that beast lol. Happy Thanksgiving Brother!!!
I have a 19 and I have installed the banks derringer, banks pedal monster, banks intake , banks boost tubes, banks 5” dpf back exhaust, wehrli fab intake horn w/ Duramax tuner surge part, Ppe down pipe. Turbo spool up is so much better. You can hear it so much more. It really woke this thing up and I’m extremely happy
I would say when selecting tuning or throttle response all in all I would go with banks!!! There very reliable and typically almost always no matter what have a lifetime warranty on all there parts. Also something banks have that others don’t is a safety system to where if the banks shuts don’t you don’t lose complete throttle! The banks will put your throttle back to stock before failure other than pedal monster or pulsar where I’ve seen they have left people stranded before!!!!!!
I’m still under warranty so I have the bank’s derringer, the pedal monster and their banks air intake with 37’s on my l5p, she is a complete beast!! Can’t wait to get rid of all the emissions off of it. I miss my LBZ but this was an awesome upgrade
Had the derringer on my 2017 powerstroke, big difference in power but the i dash data monster is my favorite part hands down. Unbelievable how much monitoring and data logging that can be done on it
I’m stoked on getting my boost tubes and intake horn for my 20, I also ordered the Pulsar v3 which is here but I’m waiting to do the boost tubes first to see the performance from that alone before installing the pulsar. I hope you do a pulsar test, I had the derringer on my 19, it was slight more power but it was borderline not noticeable. I currently have the pedal monster on my 20 now, I feel that was way more noticeable then the derringer on my 19. A shootout would be balls!
@@TruckMaster well we're going to have to find out in a video though that's the thing we're going to have to find out though we'll see how that happens and now that goes
Hey truck master. I have a question for you ? But first I have a 2019 GMC Duramax and would like to know what tuner you would recommend for someone that has only owned there very first diesel for the last three years now. I have watched your channel for a long time and seen you talk about the pulsar tuner and the diesel duds tuner and upgrades. But I have watched the videos on the banks derringer tuner and really don’t know which one I should go with or what you recommend would recommend. I know I am going to do the exhaust manifolds , up and down pipes along with 4”exhaust upgrade. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
I know that I am late to the party here but I just bought a 17 Silverado 2500 and I’m wondering if I were to change pipes and intake do I need to retune? If so who or what is recommended?
just a quick bit for you Josh, I'd recommend you torque those clamps to 15 ft lbs. I had alot of issue with boots blowing off on my LML and tighting to 15 ft lbs fixed my issues.
On Minutes 10:55 -11:20 you say that hsp parts fit really good do they fit better than wehrli ??? I have A 2019 gmc L5p Duramax and I’m debating between Wehrli and Hsp bundle kit on the intake …. Who do y’all recommend it’s a hard debate for me 😅
I have the Bank’s Derringer, Idash, cold air intake, and about to install the boost tubes. After watching your video of up/down pipe, and manifold install I’m considering that as well. Would love to see Dyno of that setup on your truck.
How much would you charge me to come to you and pay you to do PPE manifolds, uppipes, and downpipe on my 2021 lol...seriously plus it might make a cool video! I'll bring the parts lol
our 2020 truck is best between 65-75 degrees anything above or below never helps it just gets worse. when you are already getting 450hp w 910 torque, at high rpm there just not that much more you need or ever will use.
Hello, I have a 19 Silverado High Country 6.6 Diesel. What i want help with getting my truck to give me better milage than what im getting right now without changing and factory settings. P.S. i live in Ontario Canada
Have a 2019 GMC 2500 HD and installed the Banks Derringer along with all the items you just did and power is quite impressive and with shift on the fly, loads more fun. I have a spare used one here if you are interested.
I want to delete my dually it’s got an arm bed on it I pull trailers and haul hay with it mostly worried about catching the grass on fire with that when it regens
Or you could delete it and then just not tell us. You’d be happier with it and we would know we just wouldn’t say anything so you wouldn’t get in trouble. Its a win win for all 😀
I have the Banks that i have not been able to install i live in Michigan but i am going in for 3rd neck surgery so it will be awhile before i can comment on it.
Don't take it as a insult but that's funny "I'm not going to delete this L5P" while also having 3 other deleted trucks lol, well I guess that's the way it's got to be stupid epa. God bless brother
Can I do something similar to my 2017 GMC Canyon 2.8 lwn? just wondering what stock parts I can upgrade for more power and reliability. I’ve had to swap my cp4 to a cp3 but still having hpfp issues
Get a PedalMonster, I was skeptical but it’s really worth it. I put mine back in stock mode today actually and I was sick, a couple miles and I turned it back on
Yes,sir, that large following helps a lot,but that negative attention can burn the buns if coming from those in power.I agree,a cleaner, less complicated engine is a big bonus, but, well, you already know. I've worked on mine today, and STILL have not got stock up pipes off yet. This truck has caused me to invent new french words that'd make a sailor blush. From firewall forward is all off,now the pipes themselves. No lift,no special tools.Cab has not been moved at all,and only rachets and boxed combo wrenches. Its doable, but total pain and slow going. As Always, thanks again for your service and our freedom, and God bless. Merry Christmas to you and your family too.
@Truck Master your opinion, please Looking at 2 L5p's both LTZ 2019 and 2018. 1. 2019 lifted small lift wheels and tires already perfect exactly what I would've done 32k miles. $79k 2. 2018 completely stock 9k miles $73K
I don’t think they are making these for 2020+. I’ve been hunting. I have a 2022 High Country and I would like to upgrade a few things but with a warranty, should I. With a lot of people probably not going to do that, they probably won’t make things for 2020+…..Yet.
What's up with Kryptonite, I've been waiting for almost 5 months to receive a set of upper A-Arms and ball joints for my 06 GMC 3500 dually. Their web site says 2-8 week lead time on shipping? I wanted to order the rest of the steering parts but I'm afraid they will never ship.
Is there a link somewhere for the hot pipe for a 2018 L5P? Can’t find the hot pipe anywhere. Thanks in advance I appreciate all you do for us truck guys.
Josh Banks I highly recommend you watch on the Banks RU-vid channel and you will see what other manufacturers will do to a truck and leave a person stranded that Banks Peddle monster won't and plus Gail Banks Company brought military personnel home safe so take that into thought
best there is no doubt If you arnt running custom tuning on these new truck with emissions intact and you have ANYTHING done the emissions system will eat the truck up no doubt about it
I keep hearing good things about Banks. Call him up and see if he wants to partner up with the channel. I’m staying tuned in on this build it’s getting me really motivated.
Look at the Banks channel. They test all the tuners, and all the pedal boosters. Makea decision based on their findings. Personally, if i could afford it, it would be Banks for me on everything for my 18 Denali. It's exactly like your black one except it's silver.
You should buy a BMW 335D to play with. 3.0L compound turbo inline 6 diesel that puts out almost 400whp/600tq with just tune/delete. It's a mid 12 second car with minimal mods that gets close to 40mpg on the highway.
Go with Duramaxtuner all the way. Talk with Chris Ehmke. Great guys over there. I have an 2011 LML with S&an intake . Can you recommend a pipe kit for my LML . Thanks
Really enjoyed this video. I'm driving the a 2018 2500 Denali and I'm looking to do something to my truck without voiding the warranty. Would this void it? If not I will surely be doing this.
dont mess around with those tuners you need a H&S mini Max tuner - emission delete tuner. They are still around if you look hard, well worth 800 bucks for a " offroad use duramax." insane tuneability on the fly.
Why not go with the emissions complaint tuning from calibrated power? They have a lot of cool features that they can take advantage of on those trucks now. Plus then the tune will actually be optimized for all the parts on the truck. Yes its more expensive but personally Id say it would be money a lot more well spent. Since after-all all box tuners basically operate on the same principles (Increase fuel flow/ Rail pressure, Increase boost, and increase timing) rather than having a file built specifically for the truck and whats is on it. I had a edge cts2 evolution on my truck and went to full custom tuning and Ill never go back. Learn from others mistakes don't buy a tuner twice. Just my 2 cents. Keep cranking out great videos!
Got a 2017 L5p with calibrated power emissions in tact tuning 5 position switch with banks cold air and wheril intake horn I think the claims are close to 600 Hp it’s really expensive about $4500 but it’s real tuning not a hot switch
I had a banks cold air intake and the dealer told me to remove it because it was causing emissions issues with the diesel particulate filter failing regeneration. Has anyone heard of this or can you comment on it? I would like to replace the turbo pipes because I had one blow off last summer. I’m sure if I do the dealer will give me crap. I went back to stock running some banks gages to understand when the truck regens as the dealer said it would not regen while towing but it does. They do not seem to know what they are talking about. Thanks for the video!
