I bought this d16z6 2 years ago and never thought about digging into it to make sure that it was good. I bought it from the same guy I had previously bought another z6 from so I didn't think anything of it. Luckily the damage we had to repair was minimal and we should be able to rebuild it and have the DX hatch set up with a "new" engine.

This video might be one of the most relatable I’ve seen on RU-vid.. That bad input shaft bearing and the damaged threads are common issues. Despite those problems, the rod bearings looked in decent condition, I doubt that engine was knocking. Solid foundation for a build. Great work on the motor and the video!

Thank you🫡. Towards the end i didnt even care about the small issues i just wanted to have a good base to work with and i think thats what we got haha. I agree tho i dont think it was hurt the bearings looked ok and the crank as well. Time to make her look pretty
