I mean, no tier 1 caster will be the first to accept it anyway or they risk career suicide for not that much more money. You either all do it together or you don’t do it at all, which is just a smart career choice.
@@theeddy1296 You probably naively think that Riot is paying their talent well. They are not. When MonteCristo made the switch to Overwatch, even though he was one of the biggest casters in the world, he made a ton more money there. And even after Riot begrudgingly raised their rates they are still not even in the same ballpark as the amount that Saudi is willing to shell out, which has been talked about on SI.

I'm glad I came across this. I met Dash during MSI 2017 in Brazil and he was so, so kind. It literally made my day back then. I hope he finds success and joy in his current and next steps. Also, hugely applaud having the guts to uphold his moral values even when not doing too well financially.

Best of 3 is by far my favorite format because I want to know who the best team is, not who the luckier team that game. You're right about the lower lows though.

For the "changing Bo's mid tourney" i think it's often a good format as long as you can acknowledge why like you mentioned. In dota best of 1 is a rare punishment saved for culling first round lower bracket at TI and tiebreakers, best of 2 is for timing reasons for group stages, bo3 is a fair match, and bo5 is reserved exclusively for grand finals as a stamina match that tests your resolve as much as your gameplay. A grand finals LB team can draft and play almost 8 hours on stage if they play all 8 potential games.

Mad respect to Dash for making this hard but right decision! We all need to have the same mindset when it comes to these fucking oil-empires in the near-east... Don't get close to them, don't fall for their tourist traps, don't give them money if in any way possible and don't accept their money to work for them. If everyone had this kind of a strong mindset, the world would be a better place truly. Of course, if Dash had said he really needs the money and thus had taken the offer I would not have blamed him for it, sometimes you just have to take these opporunities even if you don't like it. But the fact that he declined is amazing and a huge sign of character on his part!
One thing is to take down the money they offer you for the first time. But saying no multiple times while they say "How much?" when you are in no so good position at the moment. Damn
After watching multiple people I know take LIV golf money in 2022/3, despite the fact that they absolutely did not need it, I have incredible respect for your decision to stand by your principles and not participate in the esports world cup even though they're offering a ton of money to legitimize their sportswashing attempts.

with the decrease in time between games there was no need for a host to dicate the breaks since there was no need for it but he has shown up in like playoff games and such to host lcs finals I think

Man I totally understand corporations only care about money.... But I don't think the fact that they all do it means we shouldn't voice our disgust with it. It doesn't have to be that way, but as a society we have just accepted it and I'm not into that mindset 🤷♂️ It lets every corp off the hook for treating people like humans instead of numbers. Hey Dash, I think the LCS gave me a wrong perspective over you all these years... I apologise. Much respect for recent decisions, I wish if ever in the same position I would choose the same.
It is an absolute disgrace how Riot discarded you. You have proven yourself to be a man of integrity. Which is probably why they cut you loose. Riot demands absolute loyalty but shows none in return. Go out and explore, you deserve a place that values you.
