*Homegoing* by Yaa Gyasi is one of my favorite books and provides a unique perspective on African and African American experiences. I just purchased her new book *Transcendent Kingdom,* and I can’t wait to read it. You are lovely, and bravo for your active empathy goal.

I fully support your resolutions! This year too I am making a more consistent, active approach to helping the community, no matter how small of an act I can do. And yes to being a more conscientious consumer - taking the time/a bit more money sometimes towards companies with supportive corporate responsibility principles, local/small businesses because they are what fosters your community and being mindful/intentional with products I buy.

My biggest tip for meal prepping is just that whenever you cook something (my family usually do it for dinner) make a large enough portion to last a few days. That way you don't have to cook every day but you also don't have to plan out an entire week's worth of meals

Good luck with your goals! I love them and can’t wait to see how the year pans out for you. One tip on meal prepping. My mom sat us down and asked my siblings and I our top ~3 favorite meals. Then she would try to incorporate those into our week. She could have go-to’s in her arsenal she knew we would eat w/o a fuss and didn’t have to think too hard about for planning or cooking.

If you'd like to make an easy switch to an eco-friendly product, I highly HIGHLY recommend the Leaf razers! Yes, they're more expensive up-front but both quality and service are AMAZING. They have swivel heads like disposable razers so almost no learning curve. Plus you actually save $$ in the long run! Made the switch last year and wish I did it earlier!

I've been cutting my hair for 10+ years. The longest strands are 80 cm :) I encourage you to watch many tutorials before you go in and start with your ends. You have beautiful hair and if you start small, you can't do much damage :) good luck!

Same! We also wanna declutter a lot of stowed away stuff. And we just dont use a lot of things anymore that are in those boxes. We tend to keep things “just in case” we might need it one day. Edit: And yes I wanna see cut your hair, because I also have never cut my own hair (or anyones hair)

I also want to be a more conscientious shopper! Overall I want to shop less and only shop at places I believe in. This has been my goal since last year and I’m sorting getting there with makeup by wearing lashes and eyebrows. I know, ironic since you said to wear false lashes less but I love just wearing lashes and brows and that’s all I need haha. Clothes... clothes are another story. :( I wanted to stop shopping at fast fashion like forever 21 but then I discovered Old Navy had petite sizes (I’m 4’10). But then I found out Old Navy is also fast fashion 😭. It’s a struggle. 😭 but that’s more of a throughout the year goal rather than the year. My yearly resolution has been to cook more food in terms of other items I don’t gravitate to because it looks like too much work. I just want to increase my cooking skills!!
