David, I own a lot of Feliciano's music, his versions of ' California Dreaming; and ' Light my fire' are brilliant. He's also a very accomplished guitarist. Suggest getting hold of his Live album 'Alive Alive-o! '

Hi David! For the record I would love to learn more about classical music. I have an early Jose Feliciano album wherein lies a cover of The Doors “Light my fire”…it’s pretty tolerable and I am a huge Doors fan. I laughed when you said Kate Bush wasn’t your favorite singer but have her entire catalog! That Johnny Winter album is great. Saw him open for George Thorogood in /85 in Ottawa. My first concert!

My dad gave me that Jose album, he loved Light My Fire from it.

Hi Mike, Did you see my classical music video? It's one of my first, so you might have missed it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sWoqqJCU_s8.html As for Kate Bush, I've followed her since 'The Kick Inside' and 'Wuthering Heights'. It's not been hard to keep up as she's only released albums once in a while unlike, say, Elvis Costello. I do like her, but some of the excessive fanboy enthusiasm turns me off a bit. 'Hounds of Love' is THE album of course, but 'Ariel' was/is wonderful too.

Isn't it amazing how many "collectors" have an opinion of what should be in your collection? To me, if your entire collection is recordings Finlandian foot-drums, then so be it. If that's what makes you happy, go for it. I saw Johnny Winter sometime in the early 2000s. It was a little sad. He was practically blind. Could still rock out though but had to stand in the one spot, so he knew where the microphone was.

Amazing. Isn't it great that those old musical legends kept going until they dropped? There's something spiritual about them pursuing their calling for as long as they could (and, if they're still around, can). And as for those who throw-in criticism of album choices, how and why you should collect, and don't think much of what others opine, they're free to do so. Seems a waste of time to me though. If people feel so strongly, then they're always welcome to be specific in their feedback or try making a few videos themselves.

Nice random selection again David! I'm jealous you got to see Kate's tour, I wore out at least two copies of the live vhs tape as a teenager! I, like MGK below, would love to learn more about classical - I have the Beethoven symphonies and Pictures at an Exhibition (because of ELP) but that's about it. Please consider something like a "Top-10 classical records you should have in your collection", or something to that effect. Enjoyed it as always - Cheers from Central California!

Hi Brian, I made this video a couple of years ago that might give a steer or two towards some classical pieces that might appeal: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sWoqqJCU_s8.html

This is an eclectic bunch. Amazing that you got to see Kate Bush. I remember listening to Tomita years ago - Snow Flakes and another one that I cannot remember the name of right now.
@davidatkinson-lifematters4826
Kate Bush was a memorable and enjoyable show, but a show it was. Not much like a music gig at all. No rough edges, all fancy backdrops, costume changes, and ballet-ish dancing. The music was incidental!

Hi dave,do you have any A-ha in your collection,would be interesting to do album reviews on them.
@davidatkinson-lifematters4826
The only one I have on vinyl, Neil, is 'Stay on These Roads'. I bought it in Croatia on a holiday many years ago. I adore the title track and the album is great. I'm not that familiar with the rest of their catalogue, but I have a friend to who buys everything by them.

@David Atkinson - LIFE MATTERS Great album that,you should definitely start purchasing their back catalogue the music they make has matured so much over the years and they have some amazing songs.
@davidatkinson-lifematters4826
@@neilcarr5288 Like many, I was slightly put-off by the popularity of 'Take On Me', so pigeon-holed them as a pop band. But the friend I have who loves them has, in my opinion, very good taste, so maybe it's time for me to do a bit more digging.
