Heeey yall! I'm back! Happy New Year to everyone! :) Check out my THROWBACK relaxer day routine from 2010 PT1 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8aJNdCH3c38.html PT2 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fWD5KCkA6ko.html
Another suggestion, you should use the olaplex after you rinsed out the relaxer. Your cuticles are open which allows the treatment to penetrate better and do it's job. Then follow up with the neutralizing shampoo.
I don’t understand why so many ppl feel the need to say that they’ll never get a relaxer again when they see a relaxer video 😐 ok but this is a relaxer video & it’s not your hair . No need for that, just watch & be done. I enjoy watching naturals too but I don’t comment & say I’ll never be natural again smh
Miss S, THANK YOU 💯🎯! I couldn't have said it better myself. These natural hair Nazis are annoying af. Like...who asked you sis? Literally no one. They just won't quit it. I'm currently natural and will be chopping my hair off soon, but I make no judgements to those who still relax. I've never felt the need to badger the next woman over what she chooses to do with her hair because it ain't my business. Their hair is their hair and mine is mine. I don't understand why some of us are so deeply affected by what the next woman does with her hair. We gotta stop that. It's not a good look.
I’m just happy black women know they have a choice of natural or relaxer, I think that was the disconnect when we were little girls. We thought we needed it to conform, you love your hair just handle it the way you want to.
Yes! You don’t have to be on e or the other I see nothing with being relaxed if your hair is strong enough. I know I can’t :( heck this year my natural isn’t even thriving. I think black queens look amazing with relaxed or natural curl. Why choose
The reason our hair was damaged from relaxing in the past was because we weren’t relaxing our hair properly. We used to just relaxed it an forget about it. We didn’t properly care for it after the relaxer since the hair become more manageable but in reality we should really take care of our relaxed hair the same as natural hair. I really like ur videos ☺️
@@tammylee3681 I’ve done it 3 weeks ago and boi. So many mistakes I use to do before. Like applying the relaxer. When I was done with my whole head I started to count the time from there. Big mistake. This time I started from when I first applied the product and my hair took the relaxer very well. When my hair are dry. I have nice waves. Love it Sleeping with a silk pillow. And I don’t want to straighten my hair maybe once every 3 months.
It’s funny u say this because waaaay back when everyone first starting going natural, I saw so many RU-vid videos saying going natural saves u money. And “all u have to do is wash, add a little gel, and GO”. It seemed quick and easy. Fast forward to now, there is nothing quick about a “wash n go”. It takes ample time, energy, and money. Well at least for me lol
@@hiimniasha lol right! Because nobody knew at that time. We were just happy to be ourselves. It helped me to accept myself the way I am. And I convinced all of my sisters to go natural as well. But the amount of money we spent on product it’s something we didn’t plan lol. My sisters think I am the biggest hypocrite for going back to relaxing my hair but I don’t care. I remember that we use to do everything soooo wrong. I’m looking forward to see what will happened if I do it right this time! If it doesn’t work I’m shaving my whole head 🤣 and going back natural again! It’s a journey of self discovery! I’m willing to make mistakes to learn!
I’ve been debating on going back to natural because I don’t know how to take care of my relaxed hair. I love my relaxed hair better so it’s a fight lol
Very true. I think we know more about our hair and what it needs. Like less heat more conditioning treatments and protective styles. Back in the day, it was just flat ironing all crazy lol
You could always have healthy hair with it. The issue is the chemicals getting into the skin, linked to uterine fibroids. It's what it can do to the rest of you. Not everybody of course but actual sickness is a possibility
Girl, you bringing back memories I use to LOVE this relaxer back in the day. I've been natural for 9 years so it's been a hot minute.I still use the replenishing conditioner though on my natural hair.
@ brown beauties, your comment caught my eye, does the conditioner still "respond" to your natural hair as it did when you were relaxed. I am transitioning (without the big Chop) and wondering wether to stick to my megagrowth leave in, growth lotion etc or just straight up invest is all natural products to soften the growth. 🤔🙂
@@AchieOtigo I would say stick to what you know. The products I use for my natural hair I used for my relaxed hair. Now some products may not work the same on your natural hair like it did on your relaxed hair it’s just trial and error but don’t go rushing to buy products out for your hair. I still use ORS and now African Pride Moisture Miracle line and it works wonders and it’s under $5. Far as conditioners; I use Suave and Aussie those are my favorites and for shampoo anything that is moisturizing.
I did this method a few days ago. Omg! It took me literally 15 minutes! I plated my hair and applied my hair oils prior and then added my relaxer. I love this method. I will be doing this every single time now!
I’m relaxing my hair in about another week. I haven’t relaxed in almost 5 years and I’m ready for a change. I’m definitely going to do that sleek ponytail, I love it! Edit 4 days later: I just relaxed my hair and I love it! I tried that swoop bun you have in your hair and it looks beautiful ☺️
Seriously. I love my natural hair but youtube would've saved my relaxed hair. My mom didn't do proper relaxers so I grew up doing the same. Its ashame I didn't even know to stretch it out and dont touch the scalp and only relax the newgrowth. It sounds sad typing it out
Never used a relaxer but these were good results, I feel like women especially black women should be happy with what works for them, whether that be a relaxer or being natural & not EXPECT ALL black women to be natural 🤷🏽♀️

Hey Girl! Hey! I just want to say I just finished using this method for my relaxer day! This is the best and easiest way I have ever applied my relaxed. Thank-you ❤!!!!!!!!!
This is proof that relaxer do not fry your hair off if you take care of your hair and actually know what you’re doing. My grandma is 73 & still gets perms, her hair is down her back!
The relaxer does fry your hair breaking down the strong bond that keeps those hair fibre strong, what you meant to say, it's the maintenance work she put in to maintain a healthy hair journey is what took cared of her relaxed hair, not the relaxer itself.
@@Dangerkiller-D No what i meant to say is wtf i said. So don’t try to correct me because i clearly SAID “ *if you take care of your hair it will not fall out* “ nowhere in my statement did i say that the relax was the reason her hair was long!
Well I’m natural but I knew Megz was going to make this so satisfying to watch. Girl even your relaxer routine is the healthiest it can be. You go girl! Stay beautiful Megz. Love these results.
I can’t believe that I have been watching you since you were 21! I remember the first video I watch from you was you doing a roller set. Love you Megz!
And? Hair is still hair and you should have a routine to nourish and care for it whether it's relaxed or not. Not having to detangle natural kinks and coils is what makes the relaxer haircare process much more convenient. The results of smooth and silky hair is preferrable to some women who do not look well suited with shrinkage, kinks and coils.
I’ve been natural since 2013 but whew. I’ve missed seeing these of yours. It’s so relaxing and sometimes I miss it.. never going back though so I’m content living it through you😍 reminds me of your back in the day videos when I found you🤗
Love when you said 'i just put my scarf on girl and go to sleep' makes it feel more personal like you're talking to a friend who's right there with you!!
i usually only get my retouches done at a salon, but money is tight right now so i gotta do it myself 😬 this video makes me feel less nervous, so thank you!!
I’m glad I came across this video. Haven’t had a relaxer since March 2019 (the day before my mother’s funeral). March 2020 my hair started falling out in what I thought was from stress. April 2021 diagnosed with Lupus cause of hair loss. I’m waiting for my chemo treatments to be done so that I can relax my hair 3 months after. Scared to go back to relaxing as Lupus has changed my hair texture at the roots to very thin.
I am no longer relaxed but will always watch your content Megz! Your relaxer videos have always been my absolute favorite no matter what phase my hair was in. Your results are lovely and that bun was buningggggggg 😓🙌🏽✨
to untwist and retwist all those sections!! sis, you’re better than me 😩🙌🏽 i’m lucky if i get my hair in 6 good sections before applying anything to it 😂 i just don’t have the patience 🙂
You could henna your hair until you're ready to commit to the grays. That will turn the grey's an reddish orange and give you streaks overtime. It's really pretty when I've seen it done
Really really loved your video!! Im 16 and i needed to see this been watching all the natural hair wash routines and I forget that my hair is relaxed and never knew how to care for it.
Good work Megz. I remember how nice, long and healthy your hair was before when you were relaxed and I see you doing it again girl. Nice. You give great tips. Great.
Thank you for sharing your steps. I self relax with ORS as well. Good to know that my steps align with your process. Thanks for inspiring me during my hair journey...😊
omg i have been natural for 4 years and i dont miss this relaxer method at all. even though i resort to wearing my hair in bomba twists or single braids and my hair doesnt take well to wash and go's because my hair is prone to single knots and its super thick 4c, i still cant see ever resorting to relaxers again. more power to all who uses relaxers. its funny cus i still enjoy seeing relaxer process by megz..been watchin for years when her twin used to help her do her touch ups in parents home bathroom.
Sometimes I don’t understand the point of doing so much work to “ take care “ of your hair just to never wear it like you want to. We strive so hard to do the most to our hair but limit how we actually want to wear it. We’re all about the protective style, which is cool. But I just want to rock my sh*t 😅
Thank you for this! It's June and I hadn't relaxed my hair since January after under relaxing with Mizani Butter Blend Lye. Just been wearing crochet and ponytails because I didn't want to deal with the process. Tried the ORS no-lye and the pre-part method. The relaxer was more liquidy than I'm used and I got a little worried about tangling and time taking down the twists at the end, but it came out great! I was able to get it bone straight which is what I wanted because I workout which makes it more wavy. My hair grew a lot under those crochet. Thanks, will definitely use this method again!
How long is your relaxer application/processing time? Your hair looks great: straight, but not fried out. BTW, I remember watching you when I was pregnant/newly married back in 2012. Crazy how time flies because my baby girl is nearly nine now!
Yes I love my relax hair it helps me to wear my real hair everyday. I texlax to stretch my hair and change my porosity cause low porosity ain't no joke
Wow so helpful! Thanks girl! You've helped me so much with my hair over the years. Now I have a 2 year old daughter and I'm teaching her to love her hair too!
Watching this makes me miss my relaxed hair soooo much! If I ever relax again, I'm going to put your tips to practice. I know I took my hair for granted when it was relaxed.
Dang Meg, this is more steps than my natural regime. Honestly, it’s been so long I can’t recall my relaxer regime but it was even less than what I do now lol. I loved the updo in the beginning/end. So cute!
I have been watching you since the beginning of time. When I first went natural I did a lot of you methods that help. Now I just want to Tex-lax. And I don’t trust anyone to do it but you 😂😂😂
Was relaxed went natural and now relaxed. I had my recent relaxer done by a professional. My experience was good but I want to self relax. I know more hair and no one is going to treat it with care like me.
Your hair is getting some serious hang time Megz! I can definitely see the growth! Love the video and I also love this method ❤️ have a wonderful new year!
I can't see the back of my head either. my daughter apply my relaxer and I do the rest of my routine. love this shampoo as well use it 3 times too just to make sure I'm going to get that Nexxus conditioner..your hair looks great. tfs God bless you👍💕🙏
