To be frank, many of her complaints are result of merging 2 sets of opposing expectations sets. One is modern empowered woman kind of deal, second is more family oriented, traditional woman. Thing is it's impossible to fulfill both. One or another, or be in middle and not fulfill fully any of these two. And we lost capability to accept that one should choose only one, due to insane polarization that's going on. All of that is just royally messed up nowadays, what can I say...

"Think like a man if you want to be successful but dont act like one if you want to be liked" -You feminists asked for this. To be successful in a career you must have masculine traits, and to be successful in a relationship you must NOT have masculine traits. It's not our fault that you wanted to abandon your role in society. "We're supposed to mother our husbands but never treat them like children" - No one is actually asking you to mother your husband, but if you're trying to call things like being nurturing, soothing, peaceful, etc. "mothering" then that just means that you want to completely abandon being a wife. You want to have a relationship where there are two men with different body parts. Not gonna happen. "Put out on demand but demand respect" - I absolutely respect my woman that submits to me. It is the feminine role and she will be respected for it. This is only within the confines of a committed relationship, society is not expecting women to put out on demand for random men. "Married and miserable is better than single and happy" -Nobody says this, but even if they did, most of these single women aren't happy. The reason why they're unhappy in their marriage is due to their delusional expectations and their own laziness. "Don't stay with an abusive man, but never break up your family" I've learned that when women call men "abusive," most of the time they mean "he wouldn't let me do whatever bad behavior I wanted to." Do not break up your family just because your man has reasonable expectations of your behavior, and do not stay with a physically abusive man. Simple. "Don't marry a bum for love but don't stay with a successful man for security" -This is women saying this. Marry for love if you want, just understand that you have to pull the financial load. Yay feminism, you go girl. Marry for security because it is in your best interest and STAY WITH the man for security. Don't divorce a successful man for security then go get with the bum for love. "Don't depend on a man for money but don't emasculate them by earning more" -The woman making more is never what emasculates the man, it is her corresponding treatment of that man BECAUSE she makes more than him. She will not submit to that mans authority if she makes more. It's only the women saying not to marry a "bum" that you love. Thing is, the woman will have to carry the financial load. Have fun, yay feminism "Embrace your sexuality but have some self respect" - This is simple, embrace your sexuality with one man that has committed to you long term, which is a respectful thing to do "Care about our appearance but stop looking for attention" -I care about my appearance because I don't want to force those around me to look at a gross and unkempt person. I don't want attention, but I respect myself and those around me to care about the way I appear. "Just say no but let him down easy" -Is this supposed to be a contradiction? How is "I'm not interested, but thank you for asking" hard to say? "Be aware of your surroundings but stop being so dramatic" -I don't even know how these two correlate. "Practice self love but don't love yourself too much" -Why is moderation such a hard concept? "Dream big but stay small" -Nobody says this. Have big dreams but be realistic about them and the work that is required to achieve those dreams. Work towards them with the requisite effort.

What she calls ‘society’ is in fact feminism. The other pull factor is her natural biology. She blames other people for her ‘dilemmas’. But she has failed to see that she is actually very privileged. The ending message really hits home, and I'm a childless man. I have seen this motherhood entitlement in my extended family and friend groups. My cousin has a son that he "visits" on the weekends and it ruins both of them when they're not together. The son is always drawing and coloring for his Dad, telling him how much he misses him. All for some woman (cousin's baby momma) to have her cake and eat it too...

Funny you mention the scenario about holding the door for a lady. I was taken to legal at my company for communicating to her that I'd prefer to be a gentleman and hold the door for her instead of the other way around. I told her I was raised to be a little more traditional (even though I'm 32) and that I'm uncomfortable being expected to not treat ladies like ladies. Told her she could just go through the door if she got to it first, but if she holds it for me then I'll respectfully get behind the door instead and wait for her to go first... She was offended and I would have had to defend my livelihood harder if not for my supervisor being more middle of the road than most at our company. The double standard? It is socially acceptable that I'm allowed to be uncomfortable, but she isn't. Anyway, the point is that you're spot on as usual. Double standards absolutely exist. And, it's such a shame that those standards are enforced based on the subjectivity of an individual's (not male, the universal perpetrator) emotional response.

The problem with her list is that she is including both of two different sides. Of course they are going to contradict each other!

I'd say that 90 to 95% of what she said are expectations that are put on by women and not be men. The majority of things she listed either I don't give a damn as a guy or scratching my head thinking what man thinks like this in regards to these "expectations".

The perception of these modern ideals is different for each individual, leading to endless arguments, self defense, loneliness and the loss of the capability to express and receive love and the loss of the ability to think without preconception or prejudice. I don't think it is a coincidence. I see a will at work here to separate people, stripping humanity from the freedom, equality and brotherhood.

A woman earning more money isn’t a problem I have. I don’t find that “emasculating”. If a woman earns more money, then I’m all the more happy for her. The problem is that the insecurity comes from the woman. She will leave or lose interest in a guy if he’s not making more than her. She will also express interest whether consciously or not towards other men who DO make more money. It isn’t the higher salary that emasculates a man, it’s the negative treatment by the woman of the man and how other men get her attention that is emasculating. Don’t turn this on us.

I agree with her that these expectations on women exist and that many of them contradict in a lot of ways, but these expectations never come from one group of men - they come from different groups of men. Some of them want a career-focused wife and some of them want a housewife. So you have to be yourself, choose your way and live with the consequences instead of blaming men for having expectations.

She needs to study Buddhism and the middle path. She doesn't understand there is a middle path to all these issues.

Men are often expected to be the one to approach Women and 'make the first move' yet can be rejected in a cruel manner - or even almost feel like they are doing something wrong / borderline harassing her - for daring to ask a Woman out.

One thing that really blew my mind the first time I heard it was; “Men cannot be the victims of sexism, only women can, because women are oppressed by men, men are the oppressors.” I couldn’t believe it! It was so completely ridiculous! But I soon learned that feminism had decided to change the definition of sexism, and this was now a common viewpoint. What makes it so much worse is that using the original definition of sexism, this new definition is literally sexist!!! But even worse than that- it worked!! Sexism against women results in severe backlash, but not only is there no equivalent response to sexism against men, it is now a social norm.

In short : we want to be trated like adults when we want the accountability of children...we want to be saved from all our wrong decisions and still be able to be mouthy and disrespectfull...

I'm at the point in my life where I don't engage in sophist talking points. All I see is a very disagreeable woman trying to score points with the sisterhood and that I can very much do without. Luckily I rarely meet women like this so I guess they mainly exist online.

I'm 42. Separated when Son was 1 year old. She told me she didn't love or want to be with me. I told her to get out. I was then Dragged through the mire of false abuse accusations, attempted custody removal and 3.5 years in court. Where I fired two lawyers who seemingly were working against me and ended up representing myself. 9 years later and 9 years single. I now have a respectful co-parent relationship with Son's mother and get Son 3 weekends/month. Woohoo! Sigh. I also pay her a new car payment in child support each month. I kept my house as we weren't married. She doesn't work, and is on welfare. After me she moved onto man #2. They had a Son and a year later she did the same thing to man #2. He had already been through a nasty previous divorce. He shot himself dead (RIP). He left behind 3 teenage children from his first marriage. His son (My Son's brother) is 6 years old today. My Son is 10. The silver lining here is that I've been single 9 years and life is good. I've done it all by myself. I cook like a chef. I do what I want, when I want. Life is good. I struggle but pay my bills with little extra left over. Saving what I can and investing in the stock market. I build sheds as a side hustle and sell them for extra money to make ends meet. I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm thankful for my lessons and am stronger for them. Those lessons were all MY FAULT. I chose the wrong woman. And paid for it dearly. I have my wonderful Son and best friend though. And life is getting better and better. I have zero interest in another woman. I will never say never though. I hope someone can learn from my story. My wife constantly contradicts herself on the decision making process. Its usually something minor that she turned into a mole hill, like what brand of cheddar cheese I bought. This usually comes from the usual branding being sold out. If I make the decision to substitute another brand, she has a meltdown and says I should consult her before making any decisions... so then next time a similar situation comes up, I call for her opinion and get told I shouldn't be bothering her with these things and just make a decision... only to be reprimanded when I get home because the choice was not to her liking. When she does this I'll call her out. Usually she will say she doesn't want to fight over something so stupid at this point, to which I will reply that I'm not picking a fight I just want to know what the hell she expects of me and to be consistent with the the expectation. 😂

What this woman is forgetting (or intentionally ignoring) is that all of those different expectations are not coming from the same person or people. She's pretending that right-wing and left-wing advice are ALL supposed to be followed, simultaneously. In reality, you follow one side and ignore the other. Or choose your own path. Many years ago, late 90'ties, my department was moved to another building where we worked, and we were 100% men, everyone smoking and all of us coming early to work, and for some reason this young girl in the other building came over to us every morning to smoke and talk like we men do, I think she liked it and we kind of liked her also, she was a part of a "manosphere" with mens way of being, and after some months I think she began to feel comfortable having a smoke, a cup of coffee and talk, being the only girl among a bunch of men, so, probably she thought it was a good idea, beginning to preach to us about the feminist gospel and the reaction was instant, we told her in pain words what we thought about feminism, she went and never came back, in my opinion an example of women's lack of understanding the dynamics between men and misjudge our way of talking

Let me explain the "Father thing" to you. It's actually a biblical derivative that has been in communities and families for thousands of years. It goes like this. As a man, "I belong to God, my wife belongs to me, and the kids belong to her!" Men need to understand this paradigm and move like it suggests! The fact is that if you are in a traditional home, those children do not seek out their fathers like they seek out their mothers. I DID NOT seek my father like I did my mother. And, that was just fine! My mother was a way better teacher and communicator. She prepared our meals and mended our clothes and she worked full time. My father progressed our lives and gave us financial freedom! I benefited from both parents in different ways. They're still together and they still fall into those traditional roles. The foundation that the family unit can build can uplift generations of offspring. And, that's the true power of a traditional family.
