Hey man, I recently stumbled upon your channel and I love your video's. It's very informative and inspiring. The way you film and put it all together is very impressive and nice to watch. I recently started sampling from vinyl and you are actuallly inspiring me to maybe buying my first MPC Live 2. You got me extremely excited so these video's are a blessing. Thanks for all the work you put into it🙏

The mix in the pads is always fun...I never play the samples they way they flow in the original record, per se. That's the uniqueness/creativity/the ART!! You are correct, we can/should all hear something different. When I am crate digging, I may hear something different from the same record as someone else. It should help from us all sounding the same. Good stuff my man. Keep pushing and sharing. I am subscribing today.

I already knew the answer to your questions before you let us know the answer in the first few seconds!😅 You got an ear for good music and elements that can fit together nicely FR! Something about those parts that glide up or down a few notes really give those chops some extra swaang!!! something special about those those 60 / 70s foreign jazz recordings

Very instructive video (as usual). I like to see your technique. Heavy bss and drums today. I like your sample with this slow voice (due to 2 semi tone lower), and the strings and guitar which give unity to the sample. It's a good idea to chop not just in one bank but to have a lot of samples in many banks to have difference in the final beat. Keep your positive attitude, it's so cool and inspiring. Take Care !

So when you chop up a sample then you always count 1, 2 for one chop on a pad?

I always slice a chop on the quarter note. So when I count 1234 it would equal to 4 chops.

@@malobeats awesome thank you . got two packs to start with. love what u do. but im torn man. let me ask u this since u haven't done a one+ vs live2. I love everything u said about the live 2 in your video from two years ago. Now this is my question. On the Live 2 can you down load the JURA synth. And also is the jura synth as powerful as the elektron analog heat you had connected to your live II. That sounded so good. And Im a sound guy so i love all the ports that come with the liveII. Now as a first time akai mpc user will it be harder for me to learn the liveII since you have to deep dive into the menus. And on the packs i guess i juse drag the folders straight to an ad card then just put in into the mpc correct?
@malobeats
@malobeats Год назад
@@PepeLeHues thank you so much for the love and support. It really means a lot. To answer your first question, yes the analogue heat sounds AMAZING I definitely the sound of any sampler you want to run through it. Tensor your second question, I think you did the right choice with starting on the MPC ONE+ since price is so good and it also allows you to get comfortable with the workflow. The LIVE2 is by far my favorite NPC, but whenever you feel like you want to make a grade, the workflow is identical, and it will only take you a few hours before your feeling at home with minor menu diving.
@malobeats
@malobeats Год назад
So sorry for the jerky spelling, lol my phone speech to text is so so off 😆
@PepeLeHues
@PepeLeHues Год назад
@@malobeats ty so much for the reply this helps so much. what if im an audio guy and i don't mind paying a few extra hundred dollars for the live 2. Menu diving doesn't scare me. Im not even comfortable with the work flow of this one. ive never used an akai. i used to have an mv8000 roland back in the day day. but this thing is so much more intuitive. i feel like i can just throw down anything i want when i want when inspiration hits. but im also not used to it yet so im making tons of mistakes still. but cant wait till i understand it all. And so i thought y not just get the live 2 and just learn that one instead of both. Let me ask you this, .... is the JURA as powerful as the analog heat. or r they different. Can Jura boosts up your entire track like the analog heat with one dial like that? and also can u use JURA with LIVEII. I wanna know if the jura and the analog heat are comparable.
