there was a 'proper' amstrad branded version, PC20, that didnt have RF TV output only digital RGB , i think this was mostly sold outside the UK , never heard of a PC2000 related to this but there were a series of later amstrad pcs with the type numbers in the 2000s, i had one, PC2286

I used to have the pc200, brilliant pc for its time. I used to do programming on it, word and office documents using... I forget what it was called, I used to play games on it as well. I did upgrade the memory on mine, I think you could even insert a hdd into it or a 51/4 disc or cd drive. Loved it.

I love my old PC200. That sounds awesome, it might have been workstar maybe. Cool. It really was for its day. My favourite little computer.😊👍💾

Amstrad version was called the Amstrad PC20, but it was beige. I knew a kid growing up with a PC20, I can remember thinking the CGA graphics were a bit crappy, but GEM was interesting. I remember thinking they should have bought an amiga 500 instead. I think this was 1988. The amiga 500 was about 600 bucks and the PC20 about 300. I saw a PC200 at the home computer museum in the netherlands. I really liked the black style but not the specs. I have to admit, I don't love these computers that much.

@@Dosbite strange it was limited to cga colours as amstrads earlier pc machines pc1512 and pc1640 had a 16 colour 'cga like' capability, not compatible with the tandy/pcjr or plantronics systems!

That is NOT a floppy disk, it's a 3 1/2 " hard disk, the drive beside, as you shown after is the floppy , it's a 5" disk. BASIC language is Beginner All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code developed early '60s adopted by many throughout up to early '90's with most manufacturers at the time producting their own variant of the language.

@@Dosbite I actually forgot the 1/4" lol probably the usual a fist up to autocorrect... For me , my days went back way earlier (70's), my first home computer as they first known as, was a Tandy , then upped to an BBC Acorn..... Yes the same BBC lol... My main 80/90 (early) computers where the Comodore, had the original 64, Vic 20 for me was a no no, cause it was white... C64, Atari ST for Cubase (music software) and the ST was also reknowned for its 16bit audio capability .... The Comodore Amiga ...I was never a Speccie Head or ever own an Amstrad ( lucky me 😁) (know owned by Comcast, originally bought my Murdoch for his then Sky business side) (all Sky boxes since phase out of Pace , Sony , Grundig, Panasonic and Thompson) are Amstrad (why their rubbish) My oldest computers and still got in possession is the original Apple (later became the Apple I or also known as Apple 1 in some markets and I've also got the original Lisa both cased and signed by mentor, friend and Boss (well one of ) .... Wozzier the founder of Apple Computers as it was back the days .... I do find very funny though that in today's world of computing machines... an entry level ultra low spec cellular phone is more powerful 😂😂

@@fcunitedforever8677 Thank you for that, very interesting read. Oh cool. I love retro computer. My Grandparents did graphics and word processing work 30/40 years ago and as a kid I enjoyed watching them work and I had an old Amstrad that I would play games on. Always learning all the time and even now give me a Dos Computer over a phone any day lol 💾💾💾💾💾

@@Dosbite Your mixing up what your referring as in a DOS computer, does means a disk based OS which is any OS but it's basically a command line OS, you can class low requirement OS's as one too, even those with basic GUI , examples Boot Managers, Recovery Suites, Partition Managers etc all running externally from main OS. Some might still run from disk format as CD/DVD media but generally it's portable drives as in USB (most common) or a HDD/SDD but physical mechanical drives are becoming obsolete fast because of their major flaws. MS-DOS is just Microsoft's command line rip off an OS IBM developed used during the 70/80s mainly call IBM DOS and a variant is still used today across a large sector of the business and service world, it's basically the AS/400 becoming widely used since late 80's and today it has so many fork variants, major ones are BPICs and SAP more commonly referred to as ERP software.... You do know you run a front/end cross client for all your retro needs, try retroarch for example, runs on any OS and device and even via your browser, you'll like it 👍 sub to channel a while ago, I watch some of your content overtime , keep up the good content, wouldn't be a large catching area of topics, 21st century kids would do a massive LOL 👍
